  • Objective : To investigate the relation to the organs, shu points and mu points. The labeled common locations of the spinal cord and brain were observed following injection of pseudorabies virus(PRV) into the the kidney, UB23 and GB25. Methods : After survival times of 96 hours following injection of PRV, The fifteen rats were perfused, and their spinal cord and brain were frozen sectioned($30{\mu}m$). These sections were stained by PRV immunohistochemical staining method, and observed with light microscope. Results : In spinal cord, PRV labeled neurons projecting to the kidney, BL23 and GB25 were founded in cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral spinal segments. Dense labeled areas of cervical segments were overlap in lateral cervical n. and lamina III-V area. Thoracic segments were overlap in lateral spinal n., intermediolateral n. and lamina V-X areas. Lumbar segments were overlap in lamina I-V areas. Sacral segments were overlap in lamina IV, V and X areas. In brain, PRV labeled areas projecting to the kidney, UB23 and GB25 were overlap in the A1 noradrenalin cells/C1 adrenalin cells/caudoventrolateral reticular n./rostroventrolaterai n., raphe obscurus n,, raphe pallidus n., raphe magnus n., gigantocellular reticular n., locus coeruleus, subcoeruleus n., A5 cell group and paraventricular hypothalamic n.. Conclusions : This results suggest that PRV labeled overlap areas of projecting to the kidney may be correlated to shu and mu points related to the kidney. These morphological results provide that organs-shu(transport) and mu(alarm) points interrelationship may be related to the central autonomic pathways.

  • In this paper, we examine the fundamental performance of image coding schemes based on multipulse model. First, we introduce several kinds of pulse search methods (i.e., correlation method, pulse overlap search method and pulse amplitude optimization method) for the model. These pulse search methods are derived from auto-correlation function of impulse responses and cross-correlation function between host signals and impulse responses. Next, we explain the basic procedure of multipulse image coding scheme, which uses the above pulse search methods in order to encode the high frequency component of an original image. Finally, by means of computer simulation for some test images, we examine the PSNR(Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) and computational complexity of these methods.

  • NAND flash based storage devices adopts multi-channel and multi-way architecture to improve performance using parallel operation of multiple NAND devices. However, multiple NAND devices consume higher current and peak power overlap problem influences on the system stability and data reliability. In this paper, current waveform is measured for erase, program and read operations, peak current and model is defined by profiling method, and estimated probability of peak current overlap among NAND devices. Also, system level TLM simulator is developed to analyze peak overlap phenomenon depending on various simulation scenario. In order to remove peak overlapping, token-ring based simple power management method is applied in the simulation experiments. The optimal peak overlap ratio is proposed to minimize performance degradation based on relationship between peak current overlapping and system performance.

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for improving the accuracy and rate of convergence when two point clouds with noise and a low overlapping area are registered to each other. We make the most use of the geometric information of the underlying geometry of the point clouds with noise for better accuracy. We select a reasonable region from the noisy point cloud for registration and combine a modified acceleration algorithm to improve its speed. The conventional accuracy improvement method was not possible in a lot of noise, this paper resolves the problem by selecting the reasonable region for the registration. And this paper applies acceleration algorithm for a clone to low overlap point cloud pair. A simple algorithm is added to the conventional method, which leads to 3 or 4 times faster speed. In conclusion, this algorithm was developed to improve both the speed and accuracy of point cloud registration in noisy and low overlap case.

  • In order to examine whether the difference between two point estimates of population proportions is statistically significant, data analysts use two techniques. The first is to explore the overlap between two associated confidence intervals. Second method is to test the significance which is introduced at most statistical textbooks under the common assumptions of consistency, asymptotic normality, and asymptotic independence of the estimates. Under the null hypothesis which is two population proportions are equal, the pooled estimator of population proportion is preferred as a point estimator since two independent random samples are considered to be collected from one population. Hence as an alternative method, we could obtain another confidence interval of the difference of the population proportions with using the pooled estimate. We conclude that, among three methods, the overlapped method is under-estimated, and the difference of the population proportions method is over-estimated on the basis of the proposed method.

  • This study examines coverage and coverage overlap of the three major Korean web directories, Naver, Yahoo Korea, and Empas. This study also suggests a methodology for collecting and processing web sites provided by these web directories. A method for napping main categories was developed. Each directory provided registered web pages in a slightly different way. Reference links had a significant influence on the coverage of each web directory. The overlap of pages among three directories was quite low, It is expected that this study could contribute to the field of web research by providing insights to how directories provide web pages and suggesting a methodology for the analysis of directory coverage.

  • We carried out research into an environmentally friendly injection molding process that involves filling the mold with polymer after thin films are fixed into the cavity, without the coating, plating process. Film insert injection molding is a new technique in which molten plastic resin is injected into the cavity after films are precisely attached to the side of the mold wall. In the film insert injection molding process, the insert film is moved by the flow of the molten plastic resin. Overlap defects cause a decline in the productivity and the quality of the manufactured goods. To reduce overlap defects, new injection mold parts are proposed to produce automotive exterior parts using thin films. It is suggested that the best possible method would be to fix the thin films to one side of the mold wall, and develop interior pins to fix the films in the mold. Based on this new pin fixing system, the problem of the film being moved by the flow of the molten resin was improved.

  • Chain-linking is a method for aggregating volume measures which would improve the quality of estimates of economic growth over the present fixed base in Korea. There is a risk that choice of chain-linking techniques such annual overlap, one-quarter overlap or over-the-year overlap may create an artificial seasonality to the volume series. The empirical results on Korean GDP suggest that the use of the annual overlap is recommended. And conducting seasonal adjustment after chain-linking to produce the chain-linked seasonally adjusted GDP is more appropriated in Korea.

  • Currently, there is a considerable interest in 3D object reconstruction using terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) systems due to their ability to automatically generate a considerable amount of points in a very short time. To fully map an object, multiple scans are captured. The different scans need to be registered with the help of the point cloud in the overlap regions. To guarantee reliable registration, the scans should have large overlap ratio with good geometry for the estimation of the transformation parameters among these scans. The objective of this paper is to propose a registration method that relaxes/eliminates the overlap requirement through the utilization of photogrammetrically reconstructed features. More specifically, a point-based procedure, which utilizes non-conjugate points along corresponding linear features from photogrammetric and TLS data, will be used for the registration. The non-correspondence of the selected points along the linear features is compensated for by artificially modifying their weight matrices. The paper presents experimental results from simulated and real datasets to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed procedure.

  • We proposed a two-mode fiber (TMF) design that can effectively reduce the mode overlap between $LP_{01}$ and $LP_{11}$ modes by using a W-shaped index profile core structure, which is a primary concern in uncoupled mode division multiplexing (MDM). TMF has a three-layered core structure; central circular core, inner cladding, and outer ring core. We confirmed that in an optimal structure the $LP_{01}$ mode was highly confined to the central core while the $LP_{11}$ mode was guided along the outer ring core to result in a minimum overlap integral. We used a full-vectorial finite element method to estimate effective index, differential group delay (DGD), confinement loss, chromatic dispersion, and mode overlap controlling the parameters of the W-shaped structure. The optimized W-profile fiber provided optical characteristics within the ITU-T recommended standards over the entire C+L band.
