The data were collected from 99 leaders who took charge of guiding 4-H youth organization in school as teacher advisor. The statistical techniques used for this study were frequency, t-test, one-way analysis of variance and correlation. The major findings of this study were as follows; 1) The 4-H leaders had some role conflict and role ambiguity in guiding youth activities in the school. 2) The leader advisor group with teaching experience of $5{\sim}9$ years showed higher role conflict and lower role ambiguity. 3) The 4-H leaders with age over 45 felt higher role conflict and lower role ambiguity. 4)The leaders' self-efficacy was positively correlated with self esteem, and negatively associated with role ambiguity.
The main purpose of this study is to derive the implications for managing effectively the leadership of hospital organization, by analyzing the effect of hospital employees' perception of the types of leadership on the organizational efficacy, and the controlling effect of individual and organizational characteristics. To test the model, survey was conducted using structural and self-administering questionnaires for 400 employees of the hospitals that have over 100 beds, in Seoul, Busan, Daegu, and Ulsan, from 29 March to 17 April, 2010, and 310 were used in final analysis. The results of the study suggest that the management methods to build the innovating leadership of managers are required in order to raise the organizational efficacy, and that searching of the methods to improve the achievement desire, self-esteem, and locus of control is required in order to maximize the effect of the innovating leadership.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of laughter therapy and cognitive reinforcement program on self-efficacy, depression and cognitive functions of the elderly with mild cognitive impairments (MCI). Methods: The study design was a non-equivalent control group pre and posttest design. Thirty-six subjects over the age of 65 with a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment were assigned either to a treatment or a comparison group. Data were collected from February 7 to March 27, 2012 in the dementia supporting center. An eight week treatment program that included laughter therapy coupled with a cognitive reinforcing program including hand exercise, laughter dance routine, laughter technic and cognitive training for attention, memory, orientation and execution skill. Results: MoCA-K (t=-6.86, p<.001) and Stroop test CW correct (t=-2.54, p=.008), self-efficacy (t=-3.62, p=.001) in the treatment group were significantly higher than those of the comparison group. Reported depression (t=2.29, p=.014), Stroop test CW error (U=53.50, p<.001) in the treatment group was significantly less than the comparison group. Conclusion: In this study, the treatment was effective in improving self-efficacy, cognitive function and reducing depression in the elderly with MCI.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of 6-wk low intensity exercise program on fatigue, perceived health state, exercise-related affect, perceived benefits, and exercise self-efficacy for female college student's. The subjects of the study consisted of thirty-four female college students. The research subjects were assigned to experimental and control group. The experimental group participated in 13-17 and 30-60 minute sesseions of exercise program over 6 weeks. Data analysis was done by t-test with SAS program. The results of this study are as follows. 1) The first hypothesis, “The fatigue of experimental group will be lower than control group”, was supported. 2) The second hypothesis, “The perceived health state of experimental group will be higher than control group”, was not supported. 3) The third hypothesis, “The exercise-related affect of experimental group will be higher than control group”, was not supported. 4) The fourth hypothesis, “The benefits of exercise of experimental group will be higher than control group”, was not supported. 5) The fifth hypothesis, “The self-efficacy for exercise of experimental group will be higher than control group”, was supported.
From the ancient times, herbs, animals and minerals were used as natural medicine to cure human disease in diverse ways. One of the representative forms in oral intake is decoction. But medicinal decoction degenerates as time passes just as all foods do by the environmental factors, such as micro-organism, enzyme, light and the air. Nowadays, as medicinal decoctions are kept in bottles and retort pouch for longtime, some standard data for preservation is necessary. In order to measure the standard statistics for safe preservation, Youngsunjetongeum used to treat rheumatism, and gout 'were used. According to this experiment which measured pH, specific gravity, analgesic effect and anti-inflammatory effect, the results were as follows: 1. No remarkable change was found in pH and in the specific gravity of decoction. 2. As for the analgesic effect induced by acetic acid in mice, no remarkable decrease in its medicinal efficacy was found, until the 9th day, but it showed in its medicinal efficacy from the 11th day. 3. As for the resultant anti-inflammatory effect caused by vascular permeability, induced by carrageenin and acetic acid, no remarkable decrease in its medicinal efficacy was found until the 9th day, but showed decrease in its medicinal efficacy from 11th day. In conclusion, keeping the natural medicinal decoction more than 9 days should be avoided.

Purpose: This study was designed to construct a structural equation model and identify the effects and relationships of self-efficacy, career plateau, job embeddedness, organizational commitment and intent to turnover for nurses. Also, an attempt was made to derive a hypothetical model from these factors and to verify whether the model has validity as a means of explaining and anticipating turnover intention of nurses. Methods: Data were collected from six randomly selected hospitals: a university hospital located in J city, Kyungnam and five general hospitals located in two cities (cities B and C), each having 400 to 720 beds. Also, 318 nurses were surveyed. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 18.0 program. Results: Job embeddedness and organizational commitment were identified as the most likely paths to turn over intention. Also, organizational commitment had the highest direct effect on turnover intention followed by job embeddedness and then self-efficacy, but career plateau had an indirectly effected turnover intention. Conclusion: As turnover intention was found to be greatly affected by organizational commitment and job embeddedness, methods to improve organizational commitment and job embeddedness should be actively developed to reduce turnover intention among nurses.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing exercise behaviors of the male manual workers and office workers based on health promotion model by examining the relationships among them, and then to provide basic information for developing exercise program. Methods: The 97 laborers and 99 officiers were collected from two worksites. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression. Results: Male laborers' exercise behavior was significantly influenced by exercise self-efficacy, exercise social support and exercise experience over 3 months, and these factors explained 50.2% of the total variance. Male officiers' exercise behavior was significantly influenced by exercise self-efficacy, subjective health status, perceived exercise barriers and exercise social support, and they explained 47.3% of the total variance. Conclusions: Based on the findings that exercise self-efficacy and exercise social support commonly influence exercise behavior of male laborers and officiers, there is a need to develop an exercise program to improve exercise self-efficacy and exercise social support.
Purpose: In this study an analysis was done of participants who were educated using a dental health program as compared to a control group who only used a booklet on the subject. The participants were elementary school children and the education focused on dental health knowledge, behavior, health belief, and self-efficacy. Methods: Sixth grade students from two different schools in D-city were assigned to an experimental group which was educated using a dental health program over five weeks and a control group which was educated with a dental care booklet. Results: The experimental group showed significant increases in knowledge, behavior, sensitivity, severity, benefit, belief, and self-efficacy indicating that the program was effective, but there were no significant differences in self-efficacy, sensitivity, severity, importance, or disability between the two groups. Significant differences between the groups were found for knowledge, behavior, and benefits regarding dental health. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that a dental health program for elementary school students is effective in increasing their knowledge and behavior regarding dental health but the lack of significant differences in several of the variables in this study may be related to the education provided to the control group using a booklet.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify factors affecting the number of emergency department visits by caregivers of children with fever. Methods: Data were collected from 145 caregivers whose children aged six or less with two or more emergency department visits annually mainly because of fever. Collected data were analyzed with descriptive frequency analysis, independent t-test, Fisher exact, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé test, Dunnett T3, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS 25.0 software. Results: Regression analysis results revealed that among factors influencing the number of emergency department visits by caregivers of children with fever were state anxiety (β= .35, p= .009), self-efficacy (β= -.29, p= .029), and gestational age of the children (β= .17, p= .010). These variables had an explanatory power of 42.3% concerning the number of emergency department visits. Conclusion: Our findings revealed that caregivers' level of state anxiety and self-efficacy were major factors influencing the number of emergency department visits. It is expected that providing education concerning fever and emotional support for caregivers of children with fever can relieve their anxiety and enhance their self-efficacy levels, which in turn may reduce the number of unnecessary emergency department visits of children with fever and ultimately address the issue of over-crowding in emergency department.
