A Numerical Study on the Flowfield around a NACA 0021 Airfoil at Angles of Attack (NACA 0021 익형 유동장의 수치해석적 연구)

  • A primary benefit of flight at high angle-of-attack conditions is to be able to reduce the speed of flight and maneuvers, which can enhance the capability of sensing and obstacle avoidance for a small UAV. The flight at high angle-of-attack conditions, however, is easy to be beyond stall which is characterized by substantial flow separation over an airfoil. Current numerical analysis was conducted on the capabilities of three representative turbulence models to predict the aerodynamic characteristics of a typical airfoil at angle-of-attack conditions. The investigation shows that these turbulence models provide good comparison with experimental data for attached flow at moderate angle-of-attack conditions. Calculation by current turbulence models are, however, not appropriate at high angle-of-attack conditions with flow separation.

  • LLC series resonant converter has many unique characteristics and improvement over PWM topologies. However, many output capacitors should be needed in parallel to satisfy an output voltage ripple and a rated ripple current of the capacitors. This paper is deal with a novel two phase interleaved LLC resonant converter using a phase of the resonant capacitor. The proposed converter can satisfy output voltage ripple and a rated ripple current of capacitors with few output capacitors, relatively. The operation and features is considered in detail and a prototype with a 12V-100A output is investigated.

  • The paper is proposed maximum torque control of SynRM drive using adaptive learning mechanism-fuzzy neural network(ALM-FNN) controller and artificial neural network(ANN). The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current $^{i}d$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to SynRM drive system controlled ALM-FNN and ANN controller, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail. Also, this paper is proposed the analysis results to verify the effectiveness of the ALM-FNN and ANN controller.

Fabrication of Vertical Organic Junction Transistor by Direct Printing Method

  • An organic junction transistor with a vertical structure based on an active layer of poly(3-hexylthiophene) was fabricated by facile micro-contact printing combined with the Langmuir-Schaefer technique, without conventional e-beam or photo-lithography. Direct printing and subsequent annealing of Au-nanoparticles provided control over the thickness of the Au electrode and hence control of the electrical contact between the Au electrode and the active layer, ohmic or Schottky. The junction showed similar current-voltage characteristics to an NPN-type transistor. Current through the emitter was simply controllable by the base voltage and a high transconductance of ~0.2 mS was obtained. This novel fabrication method can be applied to amplifying or fast switching organic devices.

  • Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) has become a popular choice in electric vehicle applications, due to their excellent power to weight ratio. The paper is proposed maximum torque control of IPMSM for electric vehicle drive. The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current ${^i}_d$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system for electric vehicle drive, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail by simulation.

  • This paper presents a novel single-stage Power Factor Corrected(PFC) AC/DC forward converter with semi-automatic current shaping in order to achieve the unity power factor and an isolated output. Since the proposed circuit is combined a boost converter used for PFCs with a forward converter used for DC to DC conversion, the over-all size of system could be reduced. And thanks to the zero voltage switching(ZVS) in both switches, the voltage stress can be reduced considerably. A simple auxiliary circuit adopted into the secondary of transformer is composed of lossless components for reducing surge voltage. A prototype which has tow IGBT(Insulated Gate Bypolar Transistor) modules as switching device is manufactured to evaluate the proposed topology. The characteristics of the proposed circuit are tested, and the validity is verified by experimental results.

  • The super turn style bat-wing antenna which are used wide over the world has omnidireclionality, wide band frequency characteristics and etc. Nevertherless its practical mechanism is unknown. In this paper, the current distribution eqiiations of bat wing antenna which have close relations with the above mechanism are introduced and the coefficients are shown to be calculable by confuter.

  • Aluminum acts as sacrificial anode and corrosion protection with Al2O3 formation. If the same current on material for Al ships with steel ships supplies, the more hydrogen would be occurred, that result is bring about over-protection. For this reason, the damage by hydrogen embrittlement leads to the serious accident. In this study, we evaluate electrochemical behavior with rotation speed of 5083-H116 Al alloy material for Al ship in seawater. To examine the electrochemical characteristics with rotation speed and its effects on performance, experiments were conducted at four rotation speed. Results of experiments, the corrosion current density and damage were increased by applying the rotation speed compared to static state.

  • In this paper, aging characteristics of silicone rubber used for outdoor insulation have been investigated with regards to salt fog condition and heat aging effect. We look over the change of properties of silicone rubber in salt fog chamber with average leakage current monitoring for observing the transformation of surface degradation properties of silicone rubber with different ATH(alumina trihydrate, $Al_2O_3{\cdot}3H_2O$) filler contents. Surface resistivity, SEM(Scanning Electro Microscope) were measured.
