Recently, the NG(Next Generation) system is studied for supporting convergence of various services and multi mode of single terminal. And a demand of user for taking the various services is getting increased, for supporting these services, many systems being able to transmit a large message have been appeared. In the NG system, it has to be supporting the CDMA and WCDMA besides the tele communication systems using OFDM method with single terminal An intergrated system can be improved with adopting of SoC technique. For adopting SoC technique on the intergrated terminal, we have to solve the non linear problem of HPA(High Power Amplifier). Nonlinear characteristic of HPA distorts both amplitude and phase of transmit signal, this distortion cause deep adjacent channel interference. We adopt a polynomial pre-distortion technique for this problem. In this paper, a noble modem design for NG mobile communication service and a method using polynomial pre-distorter with PAPR technique for counterbalancing nonlinear characteristic of the HPA are proposed.

This paper proposes a distributed space-frequency block code (SFBC) for relay-assisted single carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE). The proposed technique achieves spatial diversity gain over fast fading channels without the complexity of multiple antennas. The mobile equipment of the proposed system has a very simple transmitter structure with constant amplitude transmit sequences, which is desirable especially for uplink communications. In order to obtain spatial diversity, the transmit sequence of relay is efficiently generated in the time domain, which is equivalent to the SFBC. Further, efficient implementation of relay and destination structures is also presented. Extensive simulation results show that the proposed system significantly outperforms the distributed space-time block code (D-STBC) SC-FDE over fast fading channels.

This paper presents an efficiency enhancement for the balanced power amplifier using DBS(Dynamic Bias Switching) method which dynamically provides the power amplifier with two bias voltage levels according to the input envelope signal. In order to apply the dynamic biases to each side of the balanced power amplifier, two switching stages are adopted. Using an OFDM signal with a bandwidth of 20 MHz and a PAR(Peak to Average Ratio) of 8.5 dB, 6 % of PAE(Power-Added Efficiency) is improved at an output power of 42.5 dBm.

In this paper, we propose a CCP (Companding Combined with Predistorter) scheme that maintains BER (Bit Error Rate) performance of systems, while effectively reducing PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) signals, independent of nonlinear property of HPAs (High Power Amplifiers). The proposed CCP scheme combines the conventional companding scheme proposed by the authors with the predistorter, in order to prevent degradation of BER performance caused by signal distortion from nonlinear property of the HPA and the compression property of the companding scheme. Hence, the proposed scheme effectively reduces the PAPR and simultaneously maintains the BER performance, independent of nonlinear property of the HPA. Simulation results showed that the proposed CCP scheme provides the lowest total degradation for all the modulations, when comparing with the companding scheme proposed by Wang and the clipping scheme.

This paper provides a unified framework for the joint optimal subchannel and power allocation in multi-hop relay network, where each node in the network has multiple parallel subchannels such as in OFDM or MIMO system. When there are multiple parallel subchannels between nodes, the relay node decides how to match the subchannel at the first hop with the one at the second hop aside from determining the power allocation. Joint optimal design of subchannel matching and power allocation is, in general, known to be very difficult to solve due to the combinatorial nature involved in subchannel matching. Despite this difficulty, we use a simple rearrangement inequality and show that seemingly difficult problems can be efficiently solved. This includes several existing solution methods as special cases. We also provide various design examples to show the effectiveness of the proposed framework.

In this paper, we propose a novel Alamouti space-time transmission scheme for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based asynchronous cooperative communication systems with low relay complexity. The conventional scheme requires an additional operation likes time-reversal at the relay nodes besides the simple multiplications at the relay nodes, which result in increasing the complexity of relay nodes. Unlike the conventional scheme, exploiting the simple combination of the symbols at the source node and the simple multiplications at the relay nodes, the proposed scheme achieves the second order diversity gain by obtaining the Alamouti code structure at the destination node. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves the second order diversity gain and has the same bit error rate performance as the conventional scheme.

In this paper, we propose the new design method for the OFDM based modem that is considerd a standard of wireless communication in indoor environments. We designed a improved FFT/IFFT in order to satisfy a data rate $6{\sim}54$Mbps required homenetworking of high speed and a improved channel equalization circuit using pilot signals for modile environments. And we designed a carrier offset estimator that uses the $tan^{-1}$ circuit to organize a memory structure. All steps are verifed performance through a FPGA and are implemented ASIC to use a standard library cell.

LED-to-LED VLC is a technology that uses LEDs as both a transmitter and a receiver unlike the typical VLCs. In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate a micro LED-to-LED VLC using Micro LED. We tested all the possible VLC cases using red, yellow, green, blue, and white color LED as both a transmitter and a receiver, and measured rise time and SNR. Then we calculated channel capacity depending on the LED color sets. Our experimental results show that the best channel capacity is 125 kbps when the transmitter micro LED was blue and the receiver LED was green. We also measured BERs of VLCs using OFDM signal, and we showed a successful micro LED-to-LED VLC upto 250 kbps.

In the OFDM system, IQ imbalance problem happens at the RF front-end of transceiver, which degrades the BER(bit error rate) performance because it affects the constellation in the received signal. Also, phase noise is generated in the local oscillator of transceivers and it destroys the orthogonality between the subcarriers. Conventional PNS algorithm is effective for phase noise suppression, but it is not useful anymore when there are jointly IQ(In-phase and Quadrature) imbalance and phase noise. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the effect of IQ imbalance and phase noise generated in the down-conversion of the receiver. Then, we estimate and compensate the IQ imbalance and phase noise at the same time. Compared with the conventional method that IQ imbalance after IFFT is estimated and compensated in front of FFT via the feedback, this proposed method extracts and compensates effect of IQ imbalance after FFT stage. In case IQ imbalance and phase noise exist at the same time, we can decrease complexity because it is needless to use elimination of IQ imbalance in time domain and training sequences and preambles. Also, this method shows that it reduces the ICI and CPE component using adaptive forgetting factor of MMSE after FFT.

The implementation of an in-band full-duplex wireless communication system is demonstrated in this study. In the analog/RF domain, the self-interference(SI) signal is reduced using a separate antenna for the transmitter and receiver paths, and most of the SI signal is canceled in the digital domain. A software defined radio(SDR) is used to implement the in-band full-duplex wireless communication system. The USRP X310 device uses transmitting and receiving antennas. By adjusting the gain of the transmitting and receiving ends of the SDR device, the magnitude of the SI signal entering the receiving antenna, and the size of the received signal from the outside, are both set to -64 dB. To verify the in-band full-duplex wireless communication performance, the source data is image and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing is used for modulation. A WiFi standard frame with a carrier frequency of 2.67 GHz and bandwidth of 20 MHz is used. In the received signal, the SI signal is canceled by digital signal processing and the SI signal is attenuated by up to 34 dB. OFDM demodulation was impossible when the SI signal was not removed. However, the bit error rate is reduced to $2.63{\times}10^{-5}$ when the SI signal is attenuated by 34 dB, and no error is detected in the 100 Mbit data output as a result of passing through the Viterbi decoder.
