A simple nonparametric test of complete or total independence is suggested for continuous multivariate distributions. This procedure first discretizes the original variables based on their order statistics, and then tests the hypothesis of complete independence for the resulting contingency table. Under the hypothesis of independence, the chi-squared test statistic has an asymptotic chi-squared distribution. We present a simulation study to illustrate the accuracy in finite samples of the limiting distribution of the test statistic. We compare our method to another nonparametric test of complete independence via a simulation study. Finally, we apply our method to the residuals from a real data set.
In this paper a methodology is developed to solve a nonlinear fractional programming problem, whose objective function and constraints are interval valued functions. Interval valued convex fractional programming problem is studied. This model is transformed to a general convex programming problem and relation between the original problem and the transformed problem is established. These theoretical developments are illustrated through a numerical example.
For determining motion/structure of a 3-D rigid object from point correspondences over two perspective views, a linear algorithm was developed in Refs. 3 and 4. This algorithm fails when the 3-D points under observation satisfy certain geometrical constraints, as demonstrated in Refs. 7 and 8. In the present paper, we show that the linear algorithm can be resurrected in these degenerate cases by adding additional lower order polynomial constraints to original equations.
This paper proposes a moving image compression algorithm using subband coding that divides and processes the differential image of each moving image frame into subband frequency. This method decomposes the original image with each subband and performs DCT. The moving blocks are detected from each of wubband using threshold value which is select from the variance of difference between frames. then they are performed SBDCT and huffman coding in order to reduce the data. As the result of simulation, we confirmed that this method improved the blocking effect of reconstructed image in low bit rate.
Some limits are in two-dimensional analysis by finite element method to electromagnetic machine having finite dimension. Therefore three-dimensional analysis by finite element method, which are modeling original form of models are needed in order to gain accurate solutions. This paper present three-dimensional time varing magnetic field analysis method using electric field E and magnetic scarlar potential $\Omega$, and examine sample model.
Key stream generator consisting of several linear feedback shift registers with a nonlinear combining function have been applied in stream cipher system. Most of the papers until now have been focusing on correlation atack and analysis of key stream generator with nonlinear combining function. Given some part of key stream sequences. We can generate identical output sequences with original key stream sequences if the feedback connection and the maximum order of nonlinear combination function are known.
Evaluating log-likelihood of Gaussian mixture density is major computational burden for the keyword spotting system using continuous HMM. In this paper, we employ the bucket box intersection (BBI) algorithm to reduce the computational complexity of keyword spotting. We make some modification in implementing BBI algorithm in order to increase the discrimination ability among the keyword models. According to our keyword spotting experiments, the modified BBI algorithm reduces 50% of log-likelihood computations without performance degradation, while the original BBI algorithm under the same condition reduces only 30% of log-likelihood computations.
ARMA fast Transversal filter(FTF) algorithm solves the extended least squres estimation problems in a very efficient way. But unfortunately, it exhibits a very unstable behavior, due to the accumulation of round-off errors. So, in this paper, two effective method to stabilize ARMA FTF algorithm is proposed. They are based on the analysis of the propagation of the numerical errors according to a first order linear model. The proposed methods modify the numerical properties of the variables responsible for the numerical instability, while proeserving the theoretical form of the algorithm. The proposed algorithms still have the nice complexity properties of the original algorithm, but have a much more stable brhavior.
Until now, The Market of aviation parts had led by OEM(Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts because of aviation industry's nature required higher reliability and safety. But recently, The interest about PMA parts in aviation market is increasing continuously with various environmental changes, such as economic stagnation, oil price rise, development of the manufacture technique and newly rising market of Asia-Pacific region. So, this paper introduces the trend and the requirements of FAA PMA / EASA EPA in order to enhance understanding for certification for aviation parts.
A new mixed approximation method is proposed for the model reduction of high order linear and time-invariant dynamic systems. This method makes allowance for stability and feature retention simultaneously. After defining dominant frequency range which affects relative stability of systems, a part of denominator is obtained using the energy dispersion method and tests are obtained using dominant frequency response matching method. The proposed method reflects the characteristic of the original system more faithfully and guarantees absolute stability of the reduction model.
