명당장부도(明堂臟腑圖)에서 기원한 심장도(心臟圖) 29종의 비교 (Comparison of 29 Diagrams of Heart originated from MingTangZangFuTu(明堂臟腑圖))

  • Objectives : The transition of the 29 diagrams of Heart originated from MingTangZangFuTu will be used to understand the shape of heart and the changes of people's understanding of heart. Methods : The 29 diagrams of Heart originated from MingTangZangFuTu are divided according to their shape elements (Heart itself, internal curvatures, structures above heart, wuzangxi, and excursus). Then its transitions are analyzed, and each shape element is compared to modern anatomy and its textual basis is searched. Results : The lengthy cylinderical organ situated above the heart is composed of upper part consisting with joints and the lower part void of joints. The upper part is Pyewan (such as the lungs) and fall into trachea. The lower part is Xinxi or Feixi which are either relative vein (or aorta) or left bronchus that passes behind the heart. This depiction of the structures around the heart can be considered to have composed by actual observance of a physical heart, a method that is similar to anatomy. However, the shape of the heart itself is described as a lotus flower that has not been bloomed, a depiction which finds its origin from Zhongguangbuzhu huangdineijing suwen (762). The three short curvatures inside the heart is described as Pericardium, influenced by Shisijingfahui (1341) in its depiction, or as sammo, influenced by Nanjing. Structures that are connected directly from the heart to spleen, kidney, and uterus are not found in modern anatomy. The saying in Excursus "All cords of five internal organs belong to heart" is based on Huatuoxuanmenneizhaotu, and this is changed to the saying cords of four internal organs belong to heart in Leijingtuyi for the first time. Conclusions : The authors of medical scriptures at the time did not have a method of direct observance when they were copying heart diagrams. Therefore, they made changes to the source material's diagram and excursus while being influenced by Nanjing, Huatuoxuanmenneizhaotu, and Shisijingfahui. Then the doctors' understandings with regards to the shape and function of heart were reflected during that process.

  • 국립중앙박물관 보존과학팀에서는 금속 유물의 보존처리 과정에서 얻은 청동 녹의 과학적 연구로서 납동위원소비 데이터를 구축하고 이로부터 청동기 원료의 산지와 관련된 연구를 수행하고자 한다. 청동 녹의 납동위원소비 분석을 위한 분석 장비는 한국기초과학지원연구원의 열이온화질량분석(Thermal ionization mass spectromer ; TIMS)를 활용하였다. 본 연구의 일환으로 2차 년도인 2008년에는 백제시대의 금동환형좌금 2점, 낙랑시대의 동전두 2점, 통일신라시대의 청동제화형접시 10점, 원풍통보(元豊通寶)(1078년-북송)의 청동기 4점(1점은 시대미상)등 총 18점의 납동위원소비를 분석하였다.

현대 일본패션에 내재한 꾸밈 미학 (Decoration Culture resident in Contemporary Japanese Fashion)

  • The purpose of this study is to search the spiritual root of decoration and anti-decoration culture in contemporary Japanese fashion and find the aesthetic meanings of the decoration culture inside contemporary Japanese fashion. The contents of this study are 1. surveying the historical change about the aesthetic sense of Japan. decoration culture 2. deducing the distinctive aesthetic ideology from the decoration culture 3. finding esthetically the inside meaning of 1.2. in contemporary Japanese fashion. First, the origin of decoration culture was concerned with the belief in the life after death of the Buddhism culture to represent the noble society of the Heian(평안) period and the religion of paradise after the Middle Ages. Second. this decoration culture based on two aesthetic ideologies, beautiful(염) aesthetics and lofty(숭고) aesthetics. The beautiful aesthetics implies words, such as bewitchment, elegance, dignity and brilliance which stand for the sensual pleasure and the eroticism. The lofty aesthetics that was introduced by TakeTakasi(장고) during the Heian period, had the meaning of magnificence, greatness and dignity. This could be recognized as the Confucianism ideas. Third, as the beautiful aesthetics that was the representative aesthetic ideology of the decoration culture, it was related to splendid and decorative designs, and was recognized as the beauty of brilliance and coquetry. The beauty of brilliance, as a decorative element, appeared in patterns of the traditional costume and dyeing as well as the beauty of coquetry indicated that the women's fashion in Japan had soft, feminine, and cute images, called Hawaii, by using various decorations, such as feminine details, flower patterns. ruffles. ribbons and so on. TakeTakasi's lofty aesthetics applied the beauty of exaggeration to every art form. It has influenced the form exaggeration by overlapping in traditional costumes as well as the 1970s big look and layered look in Europe fashion. Issey Miyake and Takeda Kenzo introduced the decorative play, such as transformation and a distortion, which considered refinement, bluff, and oddity of the Japanese decoration art.

Agro-morphological Characterization of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese Adzuki Bean (Vigna angularis (Willd.) Ohwi & Ohashi) Genotypes

  • Adzuki beans have gained popularity in recent years due to their health benefits. Breeding of Adzuki beans is less favorable than with other legumes due to low genetic diversity. This study aimed to evaluate the genetic diversity of 252 adzuki bean germplasms from China, Japan, and Korea using 18 agro-morphological parameters and comparing their performance to three prominent Korean cultivars: Geomguseul, Arari, and Chungjupat. Leaf shape, pod color, and seed coat color were among the qualitative traits that showed wide variations. The quantitative variables also showed wide variations among adzuki bean germplasms. Although there was no significant difference (p < 0.05), the average rate of germination declined in the order of Korean (91.44%) > Chinese (91.31%) > Japanese (87.47%) adzuki beans. Chinese adzuki beans needed fewer days to flower (DF, 58.22 days) and days to mature (DM, 107.13 days), which varied significantly compared to the Korean and Japanese adzuki beans (p < 0.05). The average number of pods per plant (PPP) and one-hundred seeds weight (HSW) were higher in Japanese adzuki beans compared to the Korean and Chinese adzuki beans although the variation of each was not significant. Almost 29.76% of the accessions had early-blooming flowers, 3.97% were premature, 21.43% produced more PPP, and 3.97% yielded more SPP compared to control cultivars. Results of hierarchical cluster and principal component analyses revealed three clusters with significant variation in all quantitative variables except for RG (p < 0.05). The key factors in multivariate analyses were DF, DM, and HSW. Our study investigated the genetic diversity of adzuki bean accessions and identified ten early maturing and ten high PPP-yielding accessions. Our findings would help farmers and breeders to select the top-performing accessions that can provide them with various options.

김치에 사용되는 소금의 이용실태 및 소비자 인식 연구 (A Survey on the Use and Recognition of Various Salts in Kimchi Production)

  • The nutritional value of kimchi is gaining global focus along with new possibilities and uses for the various salts used in making kimchi. The purpose of the study is to conduct research on the uses of various salts and investigate the consumer recognition of salt use in kimchi preparation. The findings are from 824 consumers over 19 years old from 15 locations who participated in this questionnaire via one-to-one interviews from September 23rd to October 14th, 2009. The results of the questionnaire show that when customers cooked, 71.9% used solar salt, 62.2% used flower salt (refined salt), 27.4% used Hanju salt (purified salt), 59.0% used processed salt (roasted salt), 47.4% used bamboo salt, 69.4% used Mat salt (table salt), and 18.2% used low sodium salt. The most preferred origin of salts was domestic. Most customers salted Chinese cabbage while preparing kimchi. Consumers showed low perceptions of different salts used in kimchi production, and did not exactly recognize the characteristics of various salts. The preferences for domestic and solar salts were very high, while the preference for sea salts was low. In conclusion, various types of salts could improve the quality of kimchi. This study hopes to help consumers produce better kimchi to match different needs. Therefore, attention should be paid to promoting the characteristics of various salts influencing the quality of kimchi.

Agronomic Characteristics of Squash Germplasm with a low viability in National Agrobiodiversity Center, Korea

  • More than 2,500 accessions of squash germplasm are preserved in the National Agrobidiversity Center of RDA, Korea. We investigated the ecological and morphological characteristics on 100 accessions of the squash germplasms with a low viability. Two typical types of oriental squash (Cucurbita moschata) and western squash (Cucurbita maxima) are possessed 89 and 11 accessions, respectively. The origin of 100 accessions was divided into three groups, group I (Korea landraces with 81 accessions), group II (Nepal with 15 accessions) and group III (Russia, Uzbekistan, Laos, and Mexico with each one accession). Seventy eight accessions germinated at $27^{\circ}C$ in growth chamber. Days to first flowering of the female and male flower ranged from 32 days to 67 days and 24 days to 55 days after planting, respectively. Vine length showed the largest variation ranging from 357.8 cm to 1,465 cm, also the average length of ten stem node range has a variable ranges from 92 cm to 217.5 cm. All regenerated squash accessions have an only collided tendril and have three to seven lateral shoots. The flattened globe-shaped squash is the most predominant and exhibited ordinarily round shaped, ball shaped, long oblong-shaped, elongated shape, and pear shape. The average weight of fruit ranged from 1.33 kg to 7.95 kg. Sugar contents showed 5.4~12.6 $Brix^{\circ}$ without ripening period.

외래잡초 나래가막사리(Verbesina alternifolia)의 생물학적 침입 및 분포유형 (Bioinvasion and Distribution Pattern of Verbesina alternifolia in Korea)

  • 북아메리카 원산의 나래가막사리(Verbesina alternifolia)는 국화과의 다년생 식물로, 우리나라에는 1980년대 이후에 들어온 것으로 알려져 있다. 나래가막사리는 전국의 산지 5개 지역, 도로 12개 지역, 하천변 5개 지역에서 분포가 조사되었고, 치악산국립공원, 무등산도립공원 등 생태계 중요지역에도 집중 분포하였다. 나래가막사리는 도로 및 계곡을 따라 산지 및 하천변으로 확산되며, 생명력이 강해 음지, 양지 모두에서 잘 자라는 것으로 나타났다. 군락을 형성한 곳에서는 서서히 분포역을 넓혀 주변 토착식생의 정착을 간섭하며 산지 및 하천변으로 확산되고 있다. 나래가막사리는 특히 자연식생 보전이 필요한 지역에서 분포를 제한할 수 있는 관리가 필요하며, 지하부의 유묘발달로 지상부 관리보다 뿌리제거를 통한 작업이 이루어질 수 있도록 제거방법을 보완할 필요가 있다.

  • 세상에 꽃고 여자도 아름답지만 오일러 공식과 대칭이 가장 아름답다. 샤논은 무선통신과 정보이론이 뿌리가 되는 샤논 정리를 오일러 정리에 기반해 정보와 통신에 응용했고, 오늘날 Smart Phone의 원리다. 그들의 만난 점은 MIMO(multiple input and multiple output) 다중안테나 다이버시티가 $e^{-SNR}$ 이다. 본 논문에서는 세상에서 가장 아름다운 공식 $e^{{\pi}i}+1=0$를 발견한 오일러와 무선통신과 정보통신을 탄생시킨 $C=Blog_2(1+{\frac{S}{N}})$을 발견한 샤논의 공식을 간단히 유도하고 이 두 거장은 샤논 한계(Shannon limit)에서 만남을 증명하고 숨어있는 비밀이 무엇인가를 밝힌다. 또한 대수학코딩이론(Algebraic coding theory)와 삼각함수 속에 숨겨진 비밀은 대칭(symmetric)과 Element-wise Inverse가 됨을 발견한다.

서유구(徐有榘)의 향촌 주거환경 조성에 관한 구상 (Seo Yu-gu's Design Concept for a Rural Residential Landscape)

  • 이 논문은 『임원경제지(林園經濟志)』 제14지 『이운지(怡雲志)』의 1권 「형비포치(衡泌鋪置)」에 수록된 향촌의 주거환경 조성에 관한 서유구(徐有榘, 1764~1845)의 구상을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. '임원경제' 기획 실천을 위한 토대인 향촌의 주거 공간은 서유구가 『임원경제지』를 통해 지향한 바를 관찰할 수 있는 중요한 단서로서, 본고에서 논의하고자 하는 <원림·간소(園林·澗沼)>는 「형비포치」를 구성하는 네 부분 중 두 번째 주거환경 및 조경을 과 관련된 내용이다. 서유구는 <원림·간소(園林·澗沼)>를 통해 당시 문인들 사이에 이상적 정원에 대한 영감을 준 정도로 이해되었던 명말 유민 황주성의 「장취원기」를 조선적 풍수관에 입각해 해독하고, 장취원의 내용으로부터 배운 이상적 주거환경 조건을 조선의 향촌 주거에 실제 활용할 수 있는 구체적인 방법을 제안하고 있다. 본고에서 고찰한 서유구의 중국문헌에 대한 접근 방식과 이를 통해 배운 내용을 조선에 적용하는 태도는 『임원경제지』<예언(例言)>에서 천명한 '조선만을 위한 내용을 채록한다'라는 『임원경제지』 저술의 목표를 보여주는 일례이자 서유구의 지향을 알아 볼 수 있는 중요성을 띠고 있다.

동아시아 및 동남아시아에서 수집한 들깨, 차조기 작물과 잡초형 계통들의 형태적 변이 (Morphological Variation of Cultivated Types of Perilla Crop and Their Weedy Types in East and Southeast Asia)

  • 본 연구는 동아시아 및 동남아시아에서 수집한 들깨, 차조기 그리고 이들 잡초형 계통들에 대하여 10개의 양적 및 질적 형질들을 이용하여 형태적 변이성을 조사하였다. 그 결과 분석에 이용된 형질들 중에서 종자크기와 종자경도는 재배형 들깨와 재배형 차조기 그리고 들깨의 재배형과 잡초형 계통들을 식별하는 유용한 형질로 밝혀졌으며, 반면에 재배형 및 잡초형 차조기의 계통들은 조사한 대부분의 형질들에서 뚜렷한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 주성분분석 결과에서 분석에 이용된 10개의 형질들 중에서 꽃색(QL6), 엽표면색(QL3), 종자크기(QN2), 종자경도(QL1), 종자색(QL2), 줄기색(QL7), 엽이면색(QL4) 등은 1축 위에서 음의 방향에 기여하였고, 개화일수(QN1)와 잎모양(QL5), 모용빈도(QL8) 등은 1축 위에서 양의 방향에 기여하였다. 특히, 이들 형질들 중에서 꽃색(QL6), 엽표면색(QL3), 종자크기(QN2), 종자경도(QL1) 그리고 모용빈도(QL8) 등은 들깨 재배형와 차조기의 재배형 그리고 들깨의 재배형 및 잡초형 계통들을 식별하는데 유용한 형질들이었다. 그러나 차조기의 재배형 및 잡초형 계통들은 대부분의 형질들에서 명확하게 구분되지가 않았다. 아직까지 동아시아 및 동남아시아에서 들깨와 차조기의 야생종은 알려져 있지는 않지만, 들깨와 차조기 작물의 잡초형 계통들은 재배형 들깨와 재배형 차조기 작물의 기원을 이해하는데 분류학적으로 중요한 위치에 있는 것으로 생각된다.
