Objective: The aim of this study was to provide a systematic review of the Korean literature on the influence of herbal medicine on liver function. Additionally, we tried to estimate the change in the data on liver function tests (LFTs) and the incidence of liver injury (LI) after taking herbal medicine. Methods: Systematic literature searches were performed on 6 major Korean databases (Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), Korea Institute of Science and Technology information (KISTI), National Assembly Electronic Library, Korean Medical database (KMBASE), Korean Traditional Portal, and Dongui University Electronic Library) from January 2010 to June 2020. No restrictions were placed on the types of publications, which included grey literature. Results: The data indicate that herbal medicine might be a minor cause of LI in Korea. However the results are not supported strongly enough to verify the safety issues because of the limitations of the original studies. Conclusions: Additional well-planned studies are still needed that can overcome the heterogeneity and the considerable methodological flaws in the analyzed studies.

This study examined from "SangHanChangHwaHunJiJip" how medical exchange between doctors of Joseon and Japan affected medical science of Japan. "SangHanChangHwaHunJiJip" is a record that organized the written conversation between doctors and scholars of the Joseon and Edo period when the delegation so-called Joseon Tongsinsa visited Japan in 1719. Even though "SangHanChangHwaHunJiJip" was written by Japanese, but it was comprised of Joseon's advanced medical ideology, especially "DongEuiBogam" that has occupied an important part of the Joseon medical ideology. As a matter of fact, "SangHanChang HwaHunJiJip" contains general theme and medical subject. But until now, it has been hardly studied by medical historians. Many studies were generally made related to Joseon Tongsinsa, a governmental delegation, focused on literary and cultural exchange between Joseon and Japan by historians. "SangHanChangHwaHunJiJip" is no exception to this trend. We can find that doctors of the Joseon and Edo period entered into colloquium, a form of group discussion, about the clinical theme in "SangHanChangHwaHunJiJip". Concretely, the conversation between doctors of Joseon and Japan was about infant disease, infectious disease, folk remedies, medical herbs, moxa cautery, acupuncture, the study of nature, the study of medical books, etc. For example, when doctors of Japan ask a confirmed disease, doctors of Joseon explained it particularly. They had a great effect on in every cultural aspect of Japan, especially its medical field. Through this study of the medical questions and answers in "SangHanChangHwaHunJiJip", I came to know that the doctors of GiHae envoys gave great influence to the medical knowledge of Japan and the GiHae inherited and developed the medical tradition of SinMyo envoys. Through the examination of this study, I could deduct that "JeongJeongDongEuiBogam" which was published by the government of the Edo period is due to not only the contents of DongEuiBogam's advanced medical thought, but also the doctors of GiHae envoy. Also, "SangHanChangHwaHunJiJip" gives us an idea that doctors of GiHae envoys have medical trend of the OnBoHakFa and a group of Japanese doctors has medical trend of the study of nature. I am confident that the improvement of medical science and natural history of the Edo period is due to influence of medical exchange between Joseon and Japan. "SangHanChangHwaHunJiJip" confirms that medical exchange between two countries affected doctors and scholars of the Edo period.
Background The stenosis of the coronary artery may decrease myocardial oxygen supply and occur myocardial ischemia or infarction. Soojeomsan, one of analgesics is generally regarded to have the effect of vitalizing blood, expelling blood stasis and alleviation cardiac pain. Methods The purpose of this experimental study is to find the influence of Soojeomsan on cardiac enzyme (CPK, Na-K ATPase) of ischemic and reperfused rat hearts which are isolated under the Langendorff apparatus. Ischemia was induced In isolated hearts of Sprague-Dawley rats by ceasing the perfusion for 20 minutes. The experiments were divided into a normal saline orally administered group(control group), a Soojeomsan orally 20ml administered group(sample A) and a Soojeomsan orally 30ml administered group(sample B). The CPK (creatinine phosphokinase) and Na-K ATPase activity of this three group were measured and compared in order to assess the influence of Soojeomsan on protection of isolated rat hearts from ischemia. Results 1. CPK was significantly reduced in Sample A group and Sample B group in comparison with control group in reperfusion(P<0.01), and there were no significant difference between Sample A and B. 2. Na-K ATPase activity was significantly increased in Sample A group and Sample B group in comparison with control group in ischemia(P<0.001), and the activity was significantly higher in Sample B then in Sample A.(P<0.01) 3. There were no significant difference in Na-K ATPase activity of the three groups after reperfusion. Conclusion Soojeomsan has effects to decrease CPK activity and activate Na pump. This result in protection of the myocardium of isolated rat hearts from ischemia.
1. Objective This study was done to identify the anti-stress effect of Hyeongbangdojeok-san (HDS), Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang(YST) in Soyangin. 2. Methods Experimental animals were composed of YST, HDS+stress groups which were administered each by 200mg/kg, 400mg/kg and the Saline+stress group. On the 1st day, making the rats forced swim and on the 2nd day, applying Forced swimming test to the rats. After FST, the levels of Corticosterone in the blood were measured. For the study of learning retardation, memory ability and anxiety reaction, experimental animals were composed of YST, HDS+restraint stress groups which were administered each by 400mg/kg, no stress group and the Saline+restraint stress group. Restraint stress were applied 2 hours a day for 3 weeks. On the last day of the 3rd week, Elevated Plus Maze(EPM) was applied to the groups and Morris Water Maze(MWM) was applied to the groups for 7 days. 3. Results 1. As the results of measuring FST which reflects depression, the YST+stress group and the HDS+stress group showed significant effect in comparison with the Saline+stress group. The levels of Corticosterone in the blood were decreased only in the 400mg/kg YST+stress group. 2. As the results of measuring how long EPM which reflects anxiety reaction stayed in the open arm, there was the trend which can suppress anxiety reaction in the HDS+restraint stress group bur no statistical significance. But there was any suppression of anxiety reaction in the YST+restraint stress group. 3. According to the result of MWM, the saline+restraint stress group showed the learning retardation which means increased time arriving at goal compared to the normal group at the second and third day of measurement. On the contrary, a learning retardation was significantly decreased in the YST+restraint stress group at the third day of measurement. 4. Among the Probe trial test a memory loss occurred in the saline+restraint stress group, but memory ability was significantly increased in the YST+restraint stress group. 4. Conclusion: As the results above, Soyangin Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang has significant influence to the antidepression effect, the learning retardation, the anxiety reaction and also in the Hormone level. Hyeongbangdojeok-san has significant influence to the antidepression effect, in the Hormone level, bur not to the learning retardation and anxiety reaction. prefer to drink cold water, and who are suffering from chronic gastritis.
Using Bi-Digital O-Ring Test which was developed by Ohmura Toshiaki, constitution classification by the vegetables' was measured by various muscle power measurement meters and the results are as follow : 1. Pinch guage (Model : pc5030HPG, Japan) is the guage to measure finger power between the thumb and second finger, Grip Strength Dynamometer (Model : T.K.K. 5101, Japan) is to measure the hand power (hand dynamometer), Back Strength dynamometer (Model : T.K.K. 5102, Japan)is to measue back muscle strength, Vertical Jump Meter (Model : T.K.K. 5106, Japan) is to measure the height of jump. The above guages were used and its result found that the radish, potato, carrot and cucumber can influence to the muscle strength was not true. 2. When the physical constitution is distinguished vy the O-Ring Test method, Taeyangin's rate appeared as average 21% although it was insistedthat there will be only 0.03-0.1%. This means that the influence power of vegetable doest not appear according to the physical constitution but it appears accidently according to the examinee's emotion about the material such as vegetable etc. as favor or unfavor. 3. It was found that the result of O-Ring Test is the same at any time and at any place was not true. there is no reemergence character. 4. The import of O-Ring Test method to the physical discriminatio disregarded that the mental facor influences absolutely to the physical heath in the ideological physical constitution medicla science. 5. 'O-Ring Test method is a objective judgement method'. is wrong judgement. As you see on the above result, Bi-Digital O-Ring Test set the changeable voluntary muscle as the standard of the judgement, that was first mistake logically, second in spite of leass influence of mental influence by the examiner and examinee than the vegetable discrimination influence, the test disregarded the influence. Thire, only grasp of some material on hand can influence to the voluntary was a wrong theory disregarding the physiology. Finally the misunderstaning his subjective view as an objective view in spite of examiner and examinee's strong influence. Therefore such kind of physical descrimination method must be sublated.
This study will explore Rococo chinoiserie not only as a prominent style of the decorative arts in general, but also as an important factor that influenced $18^{th}$ century fashions in dress. Two premises support the conclusion of this study. One is that the chinoiserie is truly a hybrid, a totally new style resulting from the mixture of various traditional elements from the East and the West, with little regard for the authentic nature of the original styles. The other is that the geographical scope for defining the chinoiserie influence in the Rococo fashion can be expanded beyond its lexical meaning; the style eventually encompassed visual cues from various Eastern cultures including China, India and Turkey. Regardless of the specific origins, the oriental influences for Rococo fashion can be categorized into two types. The first type is a complete appropriation of structural elements of Eastern clothing, such as pagoda hats, pagoda sleeves, turbans decorated with plumes or fur-trimmed open robes and then combining them with Western dress. These exotic and fancy dress ensembles were worn as masquerades, theatrical costumes or portraits. One extraordinary example is the banyan, a man's dressing gown, which also had a place in everyday life, not just as special costume. Although the banyan became more tailored as time passed, the traditional shape of this Eastern garment was accepted unaltered in the beginning of the $18^{th}$ century. The second type of influence shows in the use of eastern textiles, especially silks, which were made into women's dress. It did not matter to the fashionable lady if her dress was made of the silk produced in China or a European copy of the Chinese original, as long as it satisfied her taste. It is difficult to detect the signs of exotic style from a glance in this type of chinoiserie dresses since it was more ambiguous and conservative adaptation of the oriental influence in Rococo dress styles than the first type. In this study, various oriental influences appearing in $18^{th}$ century Rococo fashions can be defined as part of the chinoiserie style based upon the suggested premises. No matter what the origin of these oriental fashions was, this hybrid of the East and West made one of great impacts on the most frivolous and splendid period of western fashion history.
Objective : This study was undertaken for discovering the characteristics of sleep in ordinary symptoms based on the Sasang Constitution. The result of this study could be helpful to understand and to identify patients such as Taeumin, Soyangin Soeumin or Taeyangin. Methods : There were 1,229 patients (529 men), who answered the questionnaire about their ordinary sleeping patterns. They were diagnosed, including their clinical Sasang Constitution, by the Sasang Constitution specialist at Bundang Oriental Hospital of Dongguk University. By applying the multinomial and binary logistic regression analysis to those collected materials, we can measure the characteristics and the influence of ordinary sleeping patterns to the dependent variable (Sasang Constitution). Results : In order of the item's influence that had decided one's constitution, between Taeumin and Soeumin, Taeumin snored frequently or well more than Soeumin, Soeumin had more dreams and more sleeping times than Taeumin, and Taeumin struggled frequently or well more than Soeumin. Between Soyangin and Soeumin, Soeumin dreams more frequently than Soyangin, Soyangin snored frequently or well more than Soeumin, and Soeumin has more sleeping times than Taeumin. Between Taeumin and Soyangin, Taeumin snored frequently or well more than Soyangin. Between Taeyangin and a group of the other constitutions, Taeyangin felt unwell after sleeping more than the other constitutions, the other constitutions awaked frequently more than Taeyangin during sleeping. Conclusion : This study will be used for identifying patients as Taeumin, Soyangin, Soeumin or Taeyangin by contrast with each other.

In the Target Cells(3 women), the two women were not observed at all and one woman was observed a little. In the Ovalocytes (3 women), the one woman was not observed at all and two women were observed a little. And in the Poikilocytes (1 woman), one woman was observed a little, In the Cholesterol Crystals(3 women), the two women were observed a little and one woman was observed as things stand, In the Atherosclerotic Plaque(2 women), the two women were not observed at all. In the Chylous(3 women), the two women were observed a little and one woman was observed as things stand.
DKY is an oriental drug preparation composed of 17 natural products and is known to have antihyperglycemic action at 100 mg/kg po in animal tests. The general pharmacological properties of DKY preparation were investigate in mice, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits. This preparation did neither show any effects on central nervous system, nor effects on algesia, nor epilepsia at the large doses of 3000 mg/kg po in mice or rats. However, the preparation showed hypothermic action at the doses of 330 and 1000 mg/kg po. In the guinea pig ileum, rat fundus strip and estrogenized rat uterus, DKY did not influence their tension at a concentration of 3$\times$10$^{-3}$ g/ml, and the spasmogenic actions produced by histamine, ACh and 5-HT were not blocked in the presence of DKY at 3$\times$10$^{-3}$ g/ml. The blood pressure and respiration were not considerably influenced at 10 mg/kg iv of DKY in rabbits. It did not influence the intestinal propulsion of mice and the normal gastric secretion of rats. These results may suggest that DKY preparation have little effects on central nervous, autonomic and gastrointestimal systems, except hypothermic action.
In the ancient times, the medical practice relied primarily upon human instincts and experiences at the same time, shaman's incantations were widely believed to cure diseases, the workings of evil spirits supposedly. For the period from the Old Chosun through Samhan(三韓), Chinese refugees brought a long medical knowledge and skills of the continent. New Chinese medicine, traditional practices and incantations were generally used at this time. In Samhan, however, the last was the most important, performed by a Chongoon(天君). Medicine and the medical system were arranged by the period of the Three Countries(三國時代). No definite record concerning Koguryo remains now. As for Paekje, however, history shows that they set up the system under the Chinese influence, assigning medical posts such as Euibaksa(醫博士, medical doctor), Chaeyaksa(採藥師, pharmacist), and Jukeumsa(呪禁師, medicine man) within Yakbu(藥部, department of medicine). Scientifically advanced, they sent experts to Japan, giving a tremendous influence on the development of the science in ancient Japan. After the unification of the three countries, Shilla(新羅) had theri own system after the model of Dang(唐). This system of the Unified Shilla was continued down to Koryo(高麗) and became the backbone of the future ones.
