Integration of Cloud and Big Data Analytics for Future Smart Cities

  • Nowadays, cloud computing and big data analytics are at the center of many industries' concerns to take advantage of the potential benefits of building future smart cities. The integration of cloud computing and big data analytics is the main reason for massive adoption in many organizations, avoiding the potential complexities of on-premise big data systems. With these two technologies, the manufacturing industry, healthcare system, education, academe, etc. are developing rapidly, and they will offer various benefits to expand their domains. In this issue, we present a summary of 18 high-quality accepted articles following a rigorous review process in the field of cloud computing and big data analytics.

마을건강원 역할 및 업무내용에 관한 고찰 (A Review on the Role and Functions of the Village Health Worker)

  • The objective of this study is to review the role and function of the village health worker in the wake of the recent social changes in Korea. The stud}' also aimed at' elucidating' the characteristics of the village health worker organizations developed through community participation in this country. The study methods employed were: a review of literature and other existing information related to VHW's activities ; the use of Questionnaire and interview with VHW's on their activities in one selected county in 1992. The major findings obtained are as follows: 1. So far the community health care activities have been carried out by medical colleges, foreign aid agencies and religious organizations with a view to improving health care for the population in rural area. 2. The VHWs employed by the local community health services received remuneratiorin cash or in kind. However, presently no remuneration is paid to VHWs employed by the government village health projects. The training for VHWs is organized by County Health Center once a year for 1-2days regardless of pre-employment or refresher. 3. The needs of care for maternal and child health and family planning has been decline due to the decrease of the target population, but on the other hand, the needs of care by VHW for prevention of infectious diseases, health of the aging, management of geriatric diseases, prevention of poisoning of pesticides and environmental sanitation has beer increased. 4. It was felt strongly that the training for VHWs should be strengthened by means of developing a problem-solving oriented educational program in order to improve practical skills of VHWs.

노인장기요양보험제도에 의한 방문간호 표준개발 (Development of Home Visiting Nursing Standards Base on a Long-Term Care Insurance for the Elderly Program)

  • Purpose: The study was aimed at qualitatively enhancing and promoting a home visiting nursing program established in Korea on July 1, 2008, as part of the Long-Term Care Insurance for the Elderly program. Methods: Structural, procedural and consequential aspects of home visiting nursing care wereclassified on the horizontal axis by applying the standard notions for the evaluation of medical care (Donabedian, 1998). At the same time, the home visiting nursing care service support system and the service provision system weredivided on the vertical axis with reference to the accreditation standards for home visiting nursing care organizations suggested by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO, 2008). The data were collected from June 4, 2008 to October 27, 2008, and were analyzed using SPSS ver. 15.0. Results: Twenty-two (proposed) standards, centered on the standard elements under the conceptual framework of the study, were developed, and comprised structural aspects (n=10), procedural aspects (n=6) and consequential aspects (n=6). Those criteria and indicators underwent two content validity surveys among groups of home visiting nursing care research and training experts. The research produced 22 proposed standards, 50 proposed criteria and 166 proposed indicators. Conclusion: The home visiting nursing care standards developed pursuant to the Long-Term Care Insurance for the Elderly Act and the applicability of these standards need to be verified by home visiting nurses. These proposed standards should prove useful in developing an assessment tool to encourage the qualitative enhancement of visiting nursing care in Korea.

Effect of a Career Value Clarification Program on Career Consciousness Maturity and Career Decision-Making of Female College Students

  • 이 논문에서 우리는 진로가치명료화 프로그램이 여대생의 진로의식성숙과 진로의사결정에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 제안하고자 한다. 연구대상은 K여자대학교 70명을 대상으로 프로그램 사전·사후 검사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 진로가치명료화 프로그램은 여대생의 진로의식성숙의 하위 요인 가운데 진로결정성, 진로관여성, 진로독립성, 진로성향성에서 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 진로의사결정의 하위 요인 가운데 합리적 유형에서 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 이와 같은 결과는 진로가치명료화 프로그램이 여대생의 진로의식성숙과 진로의사결정에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미친다는 것을 보여 준다. 여대생들의 진로의식성숙과 진로의사결정을 긍정적으로 향상시키기 위해서는 진로가치명료화 프로그램으로 지역사회에 여러 기관들을 방문하여 진로에 필요한 자격증과 활동들을 알고 실질적으로 진로준비를 할 수 있도록 도와야 할 것이다. 그리고 대학에서는 현장 전문가들을 적극적으로 초청하여 그 직업이 추구하는 가치가 무엇이고 어떤 일을 하는지를 알 수 있도록 기회를 제공해 주어야 할 것이다.

ミロクの世と女性-近世日本の富士信仰における弥勒信仰の展開 (Development of Miroku belief in the cult of Mount Fuji of early modern Japan)

  • Miroku belief observed in Japanese folklore and popular religions is originated from the faith in a bodhisattva called Miroku (Maitreya) who, depending on Buddhist account, is supposed to appear in this world to save all mankind. This faith, together with the millenarianism inherent in it, was disseminated into many areas of East and Southeast Asia. It developed in various ways, being associated with the religious tradition of each area where it was accepted. In Japanese folklore and popular religions the aspiration for the "World of Miroku", the ideal world expected to be realized in the future, has been its most notable feature. This paper examines the notion of the "World of Miroku" developed in the cult of Mount Fuji in early modern Japan. In particular this paper focuses on the "World of Miroku" appearing in the teachings of Fuji-ko and Fujido, which were the organizations of lay believers. Through the examination this paper made the following facts clear. (1) The notion of the "World of Miroku" developed by Fuji-ko and Fujido had its bases in Miroku belief of Japanese folklore. (2) However the notion of the "World of Miroku" in the teachings of Fuji-ko and Fujido was quite different from that of the folklore. While the "World of Miroku" appearing in the folklore is characterized by good harvest and abundant gold and silver, Fuji-ko and Fujido leaders thought that all people, including the emperor and the shogun, would earnestly carry out their house business, do their best to promote the happiness of the others, and pray for the salvation of all mankind in the "World of Miroku". (3) The notion about the changes of the world, which was particular to Fuji-ko and Fujido, accounts for such development in the concept of the "World of Miroku". According to the notion the current world was recognized as the second stage, between the original world in the past and the "World of Miroku" in the future, in the history of human beings. This idea helped the leaders of Fuji-ko and Fujido to develop the theories of world renewal, in which the wrong doings of the rulers and poor morality of the people were to be corrected in the "World of Miroku". (4) One of the most important features of the "World of Miroku" was the equality between men and women according to the teachings of Fujido. Both Fuji-ko and Fujido had opposed to the prevailing view of women, in which women were regarded as being sinful and polluted. Fujido further tried to improve the status of women in their families and the society. (5) In accordance with such an innovatory view, Fujido challenged the custom of excluding women from sacred places, Mount Fuji in particular. 여성관리자의 조직몰입을 높이기 위한 기업의 내부요인 탐색 (Exploring Internal Factors of Companies to Increase Oorganizational Commitment of Female Managers)

  • 여성인력의 양적 증가에 비해 여성의 조직 내 지위는 여전히 열악한 수준이다. 다양한 관점과 유연한 환경대처능력이 필요한 시점에서 여성인력을 어떻게 관리하고 활용할 수 있는가는 기업이 시급히 풀어야 할 당면과제이다. 본 연구에서는 경력개발의 주체로서 여성관리자들이 보다 조직에 몰입하게 하는 조직의 내부요인을 탐색하고자 한다. 그동안 여성인력의 활용과 관련한 선행연구에서는 주로 일-가정 균형(work-life balance) 등 고용평등정책에 초점이 맞춰져 있었다. 본 연구에서는 조직의 외부적 지원책뿐만 아니라 멘토링, 교육훈련, 조직분위기 등 조직의 내부 지원요인을 고려함으로써 기존 연구의 범위를 확장하고자 한다. 이를 위해 여성관리자패널 데이터를 사용하여 분석한 결과, 멘토링과 교육훈련 그리고 조직분위기는 모두 여성관리자의 조직몰입을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 여성관리자의 주도적 영향력은 조직몰입에 영향을 미치며, 조직의 내부요인과 조직몰입 사이를 매개하였다. 즉, 여성관리자들이 조직에 몰입하기 위해서는 기업의 내부적 지원 뿐만 아니라 여성관리자들이 자신의 위치에서 주도적으로 자신의 영향력을 발휘하는 것이 중요하다는 사실을 밝혀냈다. 본 연구는 우수 여성 인력의 채용, 교육훈련, 보상 등 제반 투자 비용을 회수하지 못하고 향후 여성 인력 채용까지 제한하는 기업의 여성 인력 활용상의 딜레마를 조금이나마 해소하는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

Sustainability Made Possible by Documentation: Exploring Assemble's Granby Four Streets (2013)

  • Since the late 20th century, various projects in the public domain where local communities and art organizations collaborate have been attempted in miscellaneous ways. In terms of anticipating an active attitude of the community, socially engaged project focuses on proactively changing everyday life and environment of people. An art collective, Assemble who won the Turner Prize in 2015 for one of their projects named Granby Four Streets (2013) has been admitted as an exemplary of this phenomenon, and it appears frequently in discussions about community-led projects. We investigate Granby Four Streets, as well as the documentation formed by the perspective of third parties based on the surveillance and criticism aspects. It asserts that the limitation of socially engaged projects that are kept ephemerally and easily forgotten could be overcome with the concept of documentation and its practice.

초기 한국 기독교의 교육공간과 말하는 주체의 탄생 (The Making of Speaking Subject in Early Korean Protestantism: Focused on the Educational Spaces for Women)

  • 이 논문의 목적은 한국 여성들이 기독교가 마련한 교육공간을 통해 '말하는 주체'로 거듭난 경로를 추적하고 그 효과를 규명하는 데 있다. 초기 기독교는 문자 교육을 수반한 성경공부, 연설과 토론으로 대변되는 근대적 발화양식, 간증과 방언으로 대변되는 기독교 고유의 발화양식 등 세 경로를 통해 여성을 '말하는 주체'로 세울 수 있었다. 첫째 경로는 여자사경회인데, 농어촌 지역의 여성들은 이를 매개로 문자의 세계로 진입하면서 무지와 묵종의 세계에서 벗어날 수 있었다. 둘째 경로는 기독교계 여성교육 기관이 마련한 연설과 토론공간이다. 이화학당의 이문회(以文會), 감리교 여자청년회인 조이스회(Joyce Chapter), 여성단체인 YWCA 등에서 여성들은 근대적 언어구사의 테크닉을 배우면서 말하는 주체로 거듭날 수 있었다. 셋째 경로는 기독교 고유의 발화양식인 간증과 방언이다. 남성 엘리트에게만 허용되었던 설교나 공중기도와 달리, 간증과 방언은 성별이나 신분의 제약을 초월하는 발화양식이다. 여성들은 적극적인 간증 행위를 통해 자신의 존엄을 확인하였고, 일종의 해체적 언술 행위인 방언을 매개로 초월적 권위에 기대어 말할 권리를 행사할 수 있었다. 이렇듯 기독교가 마련한 교육공간을 통과하면서 여성들은 자신들이 겪는 고통이 운명 탓이 아니라 사회적 구조나 오랜 악습 때문임을 깨닫고 여성의 교육권과 재산권을 주장하는 '말하는 주체'가 되었다. 지난 30여 년 동안 활발했던 신여성 연구에서는 여성주체 형성의 장치였던 기독교의 영향력에 대해 간과하는 경향이 있었다. 초기 한국 기독교 교육공간에는 여성을 말하는 주체로 세우는 다양한 언술장치가 있었고, 이는 여성들의 공적 발화에 선도적 역할을 하였음을 밝힌 이 글은 그간의 근대여성 연구의 지평을 보완, 확장한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

체중조절 프로그램이 중년기 비만여성의 식습관 및 혈액성분에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Weight Control Program on Dietary Habits and Blood Composition in Obese Middle-Aged Women)

  • 본 연구에서는 12주간 중년 비만여성을 대상으로 체중조절 프로그램 (영양교육 및 상담, 운동요법)을 실시하여 식습관, 혈액성분, 체성분의 변화를 살펴보고자 하였다. 영양 교육실시 후 식습관에서는 식사의 규칙성, 간식섭취횟수, 외식횟수 및 식사속도 등이 긍정적으로 개선되었다. 혈액지질 성분과 혈압에서는 총콜레스테롤, 중성지방, LDL-콜레스테롤, 수축기 혈압이 유의적으로 감소하였으며, 동맥경화지수와 이완기 혈압도 유의적인 차이는 없었지만 감소하였다. 비만지표인 BMI와 WHR (허리-엉덩이 둘레비)이 유의적으로 감소되어 체중이 감량됨을 알 수 있었고 체지방률, 지방량도 유의적으로 감소되었으며, 근육량은 유의적인 차이는 없었지만 약간의 증가를 가져와서 장기적으로 체성분의 긍정적인 변화를 기대할 수 있었다. 이상의 결과를 미루어 효율적인 비만관리를 위해서는 획일적인 방법보다는 대상자들의 특성을 고려하여 식행동 개선에 초점을 맞춘 영양교육 및 상담과 아울러 운동요법을 병행하여관리가 이루어져야 할 것으로 생각된다. 그러기 위해서는 각 영역의 전문가들의 긴밀한 협조와 노력으로 실질적인 건강향상을 위한 체계적인 비만관리 프로그램이 이루어져 비만을 예방하고 건강지표 향상을 가져와 국민건강 증진에 도움이 될 것으로 본다.

서양문장의 상징성에 관한 연구 -중세 서양문장과 복장을 중심으로- (A Study on Symbolism of Western Heraldry - Focused on Western Heraldry, Dress and its Ornaments of the Middle Ages -)

  • Heraldry, which originated from the culture of knights in the 12th century, came to be drawn on shields, and was inherited as a symbol of the family at the end of the 12th century and developed rapidly through the 13th and 14th century. Afterwards heraldry was in great vogue and used in the shields, clothes of men and women, armors, housings and flags. Therefore the citizen class as well as nobles and knights came to possess heraldry. In particular parti-color and impaled coat were accepted in the clothes, and served the dual purpose of status symbol and ornament in the 13th century. It can be said that the appearance of heraldry on the clothes was typical of the Middle Ages. The origin, generally accepted, was that the crusaders wore the surcots, also known as the cyclases, on the armors to prevent the powerful sun of Syria and dust of deserts, and to prevent the armors from rusting due to moisture. As the surcot was made of white linen or white silk till the beginning of the 13th century, knight's heraldry came to be put on the surcot in order to identify each corps. According as the coat of mail covering all the body was devised, the same heraldry attached on the shield seemed to appear on the clothes of surcot or jupon(afterwards pourpoint) in order to identify the status in the battlefield and tournament. Heraldry, a system of mark in the 12th century, was used as a symbol of authority of the upper class such as the Royal House, nobles and knights, and may have been mysterious instruments in the Milddle Ages. However, in the modern times of the 20th century heraldry has come to be a kind of symbol marks such as badges and banners symbolizing the hallmark of the goods of enterprises, organizations and groups. Heraldry, existing up to now, of the individuals as well as international organizations can be seen as a result of deep-rooted tradition for esthetic appreciation and symbolism for heraldry.
