  • This paper reports results of a recent survey of 184 Information Technology(IT) development practitioners and 90 User Interface (UI)/usability practitioners. This survey covered a broad range of issues including the respondents' profile, current development environment, usability and user-centered design (UCD) adoption issues in development, overall assessment of usability/UCD in Korea, and the most widely used methods and techniques. The results of this study are expected to provide an empirical basis for usability and UCD planning, training, adoption and execution in IT industry of Korea.

중소기업에서 경영자의 배려와 용서가 학습조직 활동과 조직성과에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Executive Compassion and Forgiving Behavior on Organizational Activities and Performance)

  • Purpose - Currently, strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in terms of competitiveness is a key economic issue. However, the problem is that many SMEs lack the internal competence required to cope with a rapidly changing market structure. Such problems can act as an obstacle to economic development, yet most SMEs in Korea are dealing with this problem today. A company's source of competitive advantage is changing from quantity to quality, facility to knowledge, and hardwork to creativity. Under such circumstances, a company should place learning and sharing of knowledge and continuously creating new knowledge as its priority. This study aims to identify the effect of a chief executive officer's (CEO) compassion and forgiveness - positive factors in organizational emotion - on learning organization activities and organizational performance, through a theoretical comparison. Research design, data, and methodology - For this study, SMEs based in Daejeon and Chungcheong area were selected. To secure credibility of the data, the subjects were selected among those who have been working at the business for six months or longer. The survey was conducted for 30 days from March 5, 2015 to April 5, 2015. Both offline and online surveys were conducted. Fifty companies were chosen and 700 questionnaires were distributed, with 506 used for analysis. Fifty subject companies (25 from Daejeon, 10 from Chungnam, 10 from Chungbuk, and five from Sejong) were selected and the objective, target, and survey content were explained to a manager at each company either face-to-face or on the phone. Of the total of 700 questionnaires distributed via mail or e-mail, 78.6% or 550 copies were returned. Excluding 44 insufficient questionnaires, the remainder, 506 questionnaires, were used for analysis. Results - This study analyzed how the CEO's compassion and forgiveness affects learning organization activities and organizational performance. First, compassion of the CEO at the SMEs directly affected the learning organization activities and indirectly affected the organizational performance. Second, forgiveness of the CEO at the SMEs did not affect the learning organization activities and organizational performance directly or indirectly. Conclusions - The study conclusions are as follows. First, CEO compassionate behavior at the SMEs was a significant variable that directly and indirectly affected learning organization activities and organizational performance. Therefore, the CEO of an SME can create a positive organizational atmosphere through compassionate behaviors in the organization. Second, the forgiving behavior of the CEO did not have direct or indirect effects on learning organization activities and organizational performance. However, the reason for a CEO to continue his or her forgiving behavior is because it strengthens employee resilience, commitment, and self-efficacy to protect the organization from negative influences such as layoffs, risks, and wrongdoings. The action of forgiveness does not have direct or indirect effects. However, the CEO shall continue such behavior to strengthen members' physiological resilience, commitment, and self - effectiveness, and to protect the organization from risks including layoff and external negative factors.

  • 급속하게 변화하는 오늘날의 시장은 혁신적이고 새로운 마케팅 접근 방식을 요구한다. 관계 마케팅은 가장 혁신적인 마케팅 접근 방식의 하나이다. 관계 마케팅 개념의 중요한 특징은 경쟁 우위를 위해 고객 관계를 구축하고, 유지하고, 강화하는 것이다. 고객 정보는 조직내에서 관계 마케팅 활동에 대한 토대를 제공한다. 관계 마케팅은 데이터베이스 마케팅 시스템의 개발과 사용 없이는 불가능하다. 관계 마케팅을 통해 경쟁 우위를 달성하는 데 있어서 가장 큰 장애는 DB 마케팅 시스템의 개발이다. 따라서, 만약 마케터들이 관계 마케팅을 활용하기를 원한다면, 성공적인 DB 마케팅을 위해 필요한 특성들을 반드시 규명해야 한 것이다. 많은 연구에서 관계 마케팅을 통해 경쟁 우위를 획득하는데 있어서 가장 핵심적인 요소가 조직적 장벽이 사실이라는 결론을 얻었다. Fletcher, et al.은 관계 마케팅에서 조직적 변수들의 중요성을 발견했지만, 이 영역의 연구는 상당히 미개척 분야이다. 이에 본 연구는 조직 변수와 DB마케팅 성숙도간의 관계에 대한 실증적 증거를 제시하고자 한다.

  • The important elements and conditions to improve corporate competitiveness are customer development, new product development, sales increase, net profit increase, and other factors. Even if those competitiveness elements are well prepared, obstacles may exist. In this paper, we examined the risk, the deadliest obstacle that can affect corporate. We selected the risk factors that exist in functional categories in the system connected complicatedly and variously by organizational value chain of corporate, and examined the conceptual model of Enterprise Risk Management System based on the precedent studies.

  • Korea has the highest suicide rate in the world, and firefighters have the highest suicide rate among the professional population. As a result of the study, post-traumatic stress disorder education is essential in all occupations. Post-traumatic stress disorder is the most common disease and the biggest obstacle for firefighters in Korea. Firefighters who have suffered physical and mental damage in many types of disaster sites due to their extreme occupations are rapidly increasing the suicide rate in recent years. In order to maximize the effect of job training, education on post-traumatic stress disorder from new employees to leadership training is urgently needed.

해양경찰공무원의 감정노동이 직무소진에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Emotional Labor on Job Burnout Marine Police Officials)

  • 행정의 패러다임 변화로 경찰행정도 민간부분과 마찬가지로 고객중심 민원서비스제도의 개선을 위하여 노력하고 있으며 이로 인하여 서비스제공자인 경찰공무원도 부정적인 요소인 감정노동이 발생하고 있다. 이 연구는 해양경찰의 감정노동의 정도를 파악하고 감정노동이 직무소진에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 검증하고자 한다. 연구결과는 해양경찰공무원은 공공부분에 종사하는 다른 공무원과 동일하게 감정노동을 경험하고 있는 것으로 조사되었으며, 감정노동이 직무소진에 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 즉 해양경찰공무원이 지각하는 감정적 부조화가 고갈에 정(+)의 영향을 미치며, 또한 감정적 부조화는 냉소에 정(+)의 영향을 미치고, 감정표현의 주의정도는 직업효능감 저하에 부(-)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 감정노동이 방치된다면 소진에 영향을 미쳐 조직에 부정적인 영향으로 성과달성에 중대한 장애요인이 될 수 있으며, 또한 개인의 신체적, 정신적으로 심각한 문제를 야기할 수 있으므로 이를 예방하기 위한 정책의 시행이 필요하다.

대학도서관 사서의 연구활용 장애 (Barriers to University Librarians' Research Utilization)

  • 본 연구는 장애척도를 이용한 서울 소재 대학도서관 사서가 인식하는 연구활용장애에 관한 실증적 연구이다. 본 연구결과, 장애척도의 평균은 조직체요인이 가장 높았고, 의사소통요인, 연구요인, 사서요인 순이었다. 전반적으로 대학사서들은 새로운 아이디어 수행시간의 부족, 시설의 부적합 업무절차 변경의 권위부족과 관계된 조직체 요인, 그리고 실무수행 언급의 불명확함, 실무 관련성 결여와 연구문헌 읽기의 용이성 부족과 관계된 의사소통의 요인에서 장애를 크게 인식하고 있었다. 또한 영어논문과 통계분석 이해의 어려움도 주요 장애 요인으로 언급되었다. 간호직 연구와의 비교결과 두 실무직은 새로운 아이디어 수행 시간의 부족 등을 공통적인 장애로 인식하고 있었다. 이러한 장애를 해결하기 위해서는 문헌정보학 교육 영역에서는 '연구활용능력'의 강화 필요성. 연구영역에서는 연구자와 실무자간의 의사소통격차의 해소 노력, 실무영역에서는 연구활용을 촉진하는 다양한 보상제도의 활성화 방안이 제시되어야 한다. 본 연구의 후속 연구에서는 사서가 실무에서 직면하는 연구활용의 구체적인 경험들을 질적 접근으로 탐구할 필요가 있다. 또한 양적 연구와 질적 연구결과를 상호보완적으로 통합하여 사서직의 연구활용 장애를 사정할 수 있는 표준도구를 개발하고, 적용할 필요가 있다.

한국판 세대친화적 조직문화척도(K-WICS) 타당화 연구 (A Validation Study of the Korean Version of the Workplace Intergenerational Climate Scale(K-WICS))

  • 최근 인구구조의 급격한 변화로, 다양한 세대의 구성원들이 같은 조직에서 함께 일해야 하는 상황이 많아져 세대 간 화합에 관한 연구의 필요성이 대두되었다. 하지만, 조직 안에서 다양한 세대의 구성원들이 서로 화합하는 조직문화를 측정할 수 있는 마땅한 척도가 없어 연구에 어려움이 있었다. 본 연구는 세대친화적 조직문화척도(WICS)를 한국어로 번안한 후, 정규직 직장인 1,052명을 대상으로 타당화 하였다. 첫 번째로, 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였고(N = 460) 본 척도는 5요인인 것으로 확인되었다. 두 번째로, 확인적 요인분석 결과(N = 592) 상관 5요인 모형이 좋은 모형 적합도를 보였다. 세 번째로, K-WICS는 기존의 네 가지 연령주의 척도와는 부적 상관관계를 보이고, 신뢰·조직 몰입·업무 열의·심리적 안전감·조직에 남고자 하는 의도·직무 만족·의사소통 만족과는 정적 상관관계를 보여 변별/수렴 타당도가 확인되었다. 또한, K-WICS는 기존 연령주의 척도를 통제하고도 긍정적 결과변인 설명 시, 유의한 증분 설명량을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 나이가 많은(40살 이상) 그룹과 나이가 적은(40살 미만) 그룹 간의 엄격한 동일성을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과들은 K-WICS 척도가 갖는 신뢰도 및 타당도를 지지한다. 본 척도는 세대친화적 조직문화 측정 및 HR 운영방안 수립에 널리 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

1930년대 중국 문서당안 행정개혁론의 이해 (The Records and Archives Administrative Reform in China in 1930s)

  • Historical interest in China in 1930s has been mostly focused on political characteristic of the National Government(國民政府) which was established by the KMT(中國國民黨) as a result of national unification. It is certain that China had a chance to construct a modern country by the establishment of the very unified revolutionary government. But, it was the time of expanding national crises that threatened the existence of the country such as the Manchurian Incident and the Chinese-Japanese War as well as the chaos of the domestic situation, too. So it has a good reason to examine the characteristic and pattern of the response of the political powers of those days. But, as shown in the recent studies, the manifestation method of political power by the revolutionary regime catches our attention through the understanding of internal operating system. Though this writing started from the fact that the Nationalist Government executed the administrative reform which aimed at "administrative efficiency" in the middle of 1930s, but it put stress on the seriousness of the problem and its solution rather than political background or results. "Committee on Administrative Efficiency(行政效率委員會)", the center of administrative reform movement which was established in 1934, examined the plan to execute the reform through legislation by the Executive Council(行政院) on the basis of the results of relevant studies. They claimed that the construction of a modern country should be performed by not political revolution anymore but by gradual improvement and daily reform, and that the operation of the government should become modern, scientific and efficient. There were many fields of administrative reform subjects, but especially, the field of records and archives adminstration(文書檔案行政) was studied intensively from the initial stage because that subject had already been discussed intensively. They recognized that records and archives were the basic tool of work performance and general activity but an inefficient field in spite of many input staff members, and most of all, archival reform bring about less conflicts than the fields of finance, organization and personnel. When it comes to the field of records adminstration, the key subjects that records should be written simply, the process of record treatment should be clear and the delay of that should be prevented were already presented in a records administrative meeting in 1922. That is, the unified law about record management was not established, so each government organization followed a conventional custom or performed independent improvement. It was through the other records administrative workshop of the Nationalist Government in 1933 when the new trend was appeared as the unified system improvement. They decided to unify the format of official records, to use marker and section, to unify the registration of receipt records and dispatch records and to strengthen the examination of records treatment. But, the method of records treatment was not unified yet, so the key point of records administrative reform was to establish a unified and standard record management system for preventing repetition by simplifying the treatment procedure and for intensive treatment by exclusive organizations. From the foundation of the Republic of China to 1930s, there was not big change in the field of archives administration, and archives management methods were prescribed differently even in the same section as well as same department. Therefore, the point at issue was to centralize scattered management systems that were performed in each section, to establish unified standard about filing and retention period allowance and to improve searching system through classification and proper number allowance. Especially, the problem was that each number system and classification system bring about different result due to dual operation of record registration and archives registration, and that strict management through mutual contrast, searching and application are impossible. Besides, various problems such as filing tools, arrangement method, preservation facilities & equipment, lending service and use method were raised also. In the process this study for the system improvement of records and archives management, they recognized that records and archives are the identical thing and reached to create a successive management method of records and archives called "Records and Archives Chain Management Method(文書檔案連鎖法)" as a potential alternative. Several principles that records and archives management should be performed unitedly in each organization by the general record recipient section and the general archives section under the principle of task centralization, a consistent classification system should be used by classification method decided in advance according to organizational constitution and work functions and an identical number system should be used in the process of record management stage and archive management stage by using a card-type register were established. Though, this "Records and Archives Chain Management Method" was developed to the stage of test application in several organizations, but it was not adopted as a regular system and discontinued. That was because the administrative reform of the Nationalist Government was discontinued by the outbreak of the Chinese-Japanese War. Even though the administrative reform in the middle of 1930s didn't produce practical results but merely an experimentation, it was verified that the reform against tradition and custom conducted by the Nationalist Government that aimed for the construction of a modern country was not only a field of politics, but on the other hand, the weak basis of the government operation became the obstacle to the realization of the political power of the revolutionary regime. Though the subject of records and archives administrative reform was postponed to the future, it should be understood that the consciousness of modern records and archives administration and overall studies began through this examination of administrative reform.
