The Importance of the University Education System for Trade Workforce: the Person-Organization Fit Perspective

  • As globalization accelerates and the trade environment rapidly changes, a more prepared trade workforce is required for the business world. The trade department is an important educational institution that educates and trains future trade talent. Thus, in the evolving trade environment, their role has significant implications for the economic growth of Korea. The present paper is a comparative study of the importance of the university education system in terms of the trade work force through the Person-Organization fit (P-O fit) perspective. We observe that the American trade education system is more oriented to meet and reflect the needs from the real world. It contains a support structure through various governmental organizations that offer financial incentives as well as educational opportunities through internships and other hands-on experiences. The trade education systems in universities in Korea are still static by comparison and are recommended to implement changes that will give students more practical exposure to trade. The governmental and business sectors are also encouraged to support universities in achieving these goals through building a strong cooperative network with university trade departments.

Advanced approach to information security management system utilizing maturity models in critical infrastructure

  • As the area covered by the CPS grows wider, agencies such as public institutions and critical infrastructure are collectively measuring and evaluating information security capabilities. Currently, these methods of measuring information security are a concrete method of recommendation in related standards. However, the security controls used in these methods are lacking in connectivity, causing silo effect. In order to solve this problem, there has been an attempt to study the information security management system in terms of maturity. However, to the best of our knowledge, no research has considered the specific definitions of each level that measures organizational security maturity or specific methods and criteria for constructing such levels. This study developed an information security maturity model that can measure and manage the information security capability of critical infrastructure based on information provided by an expert critical infrastructure information protection group. The proposed model is simulated using the thermal power sector in critical infrastructure of the Republic of Korea to confirm the possibility of its application to the field and derive core security processes and goals that constitute infrastructure security maturity. The findings will be useful for future research or practical application of infrastructure ISMSs.

  • Purpose - This study aims to analyze the causality relationship between Islamic leadership style on employee engagement through empirical testing and anthropology economics approach. Research design, data, and methodology - The sample of this study 117 respondents who are employees of various levels of management in one of the FCMG industry in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Data collection with surveys. Data analysis through three steps, i.e., Pearson Correlation, The Second order modeling and also regression using SPSS. Results - Islamic leadership style has a positive and significant effect on employee engagement. The Islamic leadership that we developed in this study can be an alternative solution for organizations in today's modern business. Apart from those anthropological elements in the viewpoint of contemporary activity in the example in this study illustrate that to realize employee engagement, the role of organizational atmosphere and leadership, as well as management and team support has a genuine impact on accomplishing the company's goals and sustainability. Conclusions - The Islamic leadership that we developed in this study can be an alternative solution for organizations in today's modern business. The critical elements in embodying employee engagement are mainly in the skills, reliability, and level of trust of a leader in the organization.

  • 동적 변화가 상존하는 건설환경에서, 보수·리모델링 프로그램의 관리자는 자원하의 복수 프로젝트를 조정·관리하는데 어려움을 겪게 된다. 프로그램에 내재하는 불확실성과 상호종속성으로 인해, 단위작업의 지연과 그로 인한 연쇄적인 공정계획의 동요는 프로그램 전체의 안정성과 관리가능성을 저해한다. 본 논문은 먼저 건설관리에 적용되었던 생산관리기법들이 프로그램관리에 적용될 수 있는가를 살펴본 후, 프로그램 내부의 자원유동의 흐름에 주기적으로 버퍼를 설치하는 공정 안정화 모델을 제안하고자 한다. 몬테-칼로 시뮬레이션에 의한 비교실험으로 제안된 버퍼 관리모델의 성능을 프로그램의 생산성, 유연성, 그리고 안정성의 관점에서 분석하였다.

교육학과 전공교육과정의 조직요소 분석 - 교육과정 교과를 중심으로 - (The Analysis on Scope of Major Curriculum in Department of Education)

  • This study tends to analyze the organizational factors of major curriculum of education department. For this, the education department's major curriculum of ten universities is analyzed in three levels. Subjects are analyzed for the high level, lesson plans for the middle level, and sub-topics for the low level. This study utilized the learning classified table of the Natioanl Research Foundation of Korea and the In-sil Chang's curriculum scope classified table. The results from the study are following. First, some subjects such as educational philosophy, educational psychology, life-long education take largest portions in the major curriculum of education department. Second. the history, the evaluation, and the definition and the scope of the education curriculum take greatest parts in the subject of education curriculum. It is expected that the findings of the study may provide the opportunities to introspect on the discussion and the organization of the educational directions and goals of education department.

간호사의 임파워먼트와 직무만족이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Empowerment and Job Satisfaction on Nursing Performance of Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify factors that affect nursing performance; Those factors are personal characteristics, sub-categories of empowerment and job satisfaction of clinical nurses. Methods: Data were collected from November 24, 2012 to March 11, 2013, and participants were 451 hospital nurses in 6 hospitals. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression were used for data analysis. Results: Nurses who were older, married, highly educated, in the position of charge nurse, and with longer clinical careers showed relatively higher empowerment, higher job satisfaction, and higher nursing performance than others. Also, there were strong correlations between nursing performance and empowerment (r=.576)/job satisfaction (r=.617). Factors predicted nursing performance were relationship with coworkers (${\beta}=.398$), duty (${\beta}=.181$), promotion system (${\beta}=.134$), and turnover intention (${\beta}=-.109$). Factors predicting job satisfaction were competency of empowerment (${\beta}=.249$), and clinical career (${\beta}=.151$). These 6 factors explained 55.2% of the variance in nursing performance (F=93.37, <.001). Conclusion: Regarding human resource management, relationship with co-workers is a changeable factor. Therefore nursing organizations should apply these factors in human resource management to enhance nursing performance and achieve organizational goals.

  • 본 연구에서는 국립세종도서관이 '정책정보 수집 및 서비스 중심의 국립중앙도서관 지역분관'이라는 기본적 정체성을 정립하고 미래지향적인 중장기 발전방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 정책정보 중심의 특화도서관이라는 정체성을 기반으로 현실적 존재가치를 제고시킬 수 있는 중장기 로드맵(비전과 핵심가치, 전략적 목표 및 기능수행, 핵심 추진과제 및 실행전략, 조직 및 인력구성, 모체기관인 국립중앙도서관과의 정책정보서비스 역할분담, 공동사업 추진 및 교류협력)을 제시함으로써 조직의 안정과 발전, 내적 핵심역량의 강화, 그리고 국가 및 사회에 대한 기여도를 높이는 논거를 제시하는데 목적이 있다.

  • Keeping good, talented people is one of the most significant factors in a company's success. HR analytics is an important area for applying big data analysis techniques to human resources. It provides organizational insight that enables effective management of employees, allowing management to reach their business goals quickly and efficiently. Job satisfaction and employee turnover analysis are the keys to HR analytics. Job review web services have been becoming popular. Because people exchange information about job satisfaction and turnover through these web services, useful information about HR Analytics is accumulated on the job review web sites. In this paper, we identified factors of employee retention by analyzing a Job Satisfaction/Retention group, and the factors of employee turnover by analyzing a Job Unsatisfaction/Turnover group. In order to do this, we first classified employees according to whether their self-reported job satisfaction or turnover was true. We collected and analyzed data from Jobplanet, a popular job review site. Through dominance analysis and LDA topic modeling, we found major factors, topics, and keywords of the classified groups by IT, service, and manufacturing domains. Our approach is a novel model to apply the analysis of reviews and text mining to the HR domain, and it will be practically helpful for setting new strategies that improve job satisfaction.

  • 시장에서의 치열한 경쟁으로 오늘날의 기업들은 고객에게 더 나은 제품과 서비스를 제공하면서도 동시에 가격 경쟁우위를 잃지 말아야만 하는 상충되는 과제를 안고 있다. 그러한 관점에서 효과적인 물류관리는 기업에 있어 매우 유용한 경쟁우위의 원천이 될 수 있을 것이다. 이를 위해 많은 기업들은 통합적인 공급체인관리(supply chain management)를 통해 공급체인내의 모든 기업들이 공생하고자 하는 목표를 추구하고 있다. 그러나 상이한 운영시스템과 조직특성을 가진 기업간의 연계로 공급체인내에 비효율성이 발생할 가능성이 매우 높다. 정보시스템의 활용은 그러한 비효율성을 제거하고 더 나아가 경쟁우위를 확보하는 수단으로 부각되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 특히 공급체인내에서 정보의 통합화가 물류성과에 미치는 영향을 분석함으로서 공급체인관리에서 정보시스템의 역할을 재고하고자 한다.

체험환경교육의 활성화를 위한 프로그램 평가 연구 (An Evaluation of Site-Based Environmental Education Programs)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate site-based environmental education(EE) programs. For the evaluation, an evaluation chart was developed. The chart was consisted of twenty evaluation items in the following six categories : 'goals & objectives', 'instructional planning', 'instruction', 'learning outcomes & evaluation', 'features of program', and 'program operation'. One hundred sixty five site-based EE programs, funded by the Korean Ministry of Environment in 2000, were evaluated. After the evaluation, the programs were also categorized and analyzed according to regions, organizations, and amount of funds. The results indicated that awareness, participation, and attitude were addressed in the purpose of the programs, while knowledge and skills were not. The diversity of activities and teaching strategies of the programs were insufficient. Cultural aspects, fairness, originality, and accuracy were also insufficiently addressed. Assessment and evaluation of such programs were needed to be considered to a larger degree. From the analysis of programs according to categories, Choongbuk province in the regional aspect and schools in the organizational aspect got higher scores than others. Overall, the more funding the program received, the higher score it got in evaluation. Some improvements and strategies for activating site-based EE were recommended based on the result of the evaluation.
