중국산 수입식품 안전성에 대한 소비자 인식 - 원료 콩의 원산지인가 친환경성인가? - (A consumer perception for the safety of imported chinese food : the place of origin or environmental-friendliness of the raw bean?)

  • This study aims to examine the consumer preference for packaged bean curd that takes a growing public interest. Specifically, this study tried to examine which is more important - the place of origin of the raw bean or the environmental-friendliness of the raw bean. Surveys were conducted to obtain information, such as the consumer evaluation for food safety on imported food products from China and the consumer perception of Chinese organic food products, Using the binary probit model, the relationship between consumer's choice of packaged bean curd and potentially important factors that can affect the consumer's choice was analyzed. A summary of this research and some policy implications follow. The results of this study can be used as the basic guideline as to how to extend the safety of imported food products, in general, and how to further develop the packaged bean curd industry in Korea, in particular.

국제 대두가격 변동이 국내 식용 콩 시장과 콩 식량자급률에 미치는 영향 분석: 부분균형모형을 이용한 접근 (An Analysis of the Impact of International Soybean Price Changes on Domestic Soybean Market and Soybean Food Self-Sufficiency Rate: A Partial Equilibrium Model Approach)

  • Major crop prices have been raised significantly in recent years by COVID-19, the war in Ukraine, and weather-induced reductions in South American soybean production by unfavoured weather in 2022. Rising international crop prices are likely to destabilize food security in South Korea, which is highly dependent on foreign crops. This study analyzed the impact of soybean import price changes on the domestic soybean market and soybean food self-sufficiency rate from 2024 to 2029 using a dynamic partial equilibrium model. According to the scenario analysis results, if the import prices rise by 10% compared to the baseline, the soybean food self-sufficiency rate would increase by 1.33% in 2024, but it is expected to decrease to -0.58% in 2029 due to the continuous decrease in production. The results of this study are expected to be used as valuable information for policy authorities in establishing policies related to improving food self-sufficiency.

충남 영양(교)사의 학교급식지원센터 운영 필요성에 대한 인식 분석 (Analysis of Nutrition Teachers' Awareness of Necessity for an Operating School Meal Support Center in Chungnam)

  • Objectives: We investigated the operation needs of school meal support centers (SMSC) in Chungnam-do based on analysis of nutrition teachers' perception of them. Methods: The Chungnam government established the first SMSC in 2012. Thirteen SMSCs are currently being operated in Chungnam-do. To analyze the results quantitatively, we investigated nutrition teachers opinions regarding the necessity for SMSCs as a dependent variable and derived the independent variables based on the causal relationships with dependent variables using the ordered logit model. Those independent variables included region, school type, number of students, attitude regarding free meal policy, satisfaction with school meal policy, and preference for local food. Results: Briefly, teachers in the region in which the SMSC was located more strongly supported the SMSC. In addition, teachers in public schools with a smaller number of students believed that having a SMSC is more beneficial, and that other variables also affected the necessity for SMSCs. Moreover, nutrition teachers preferred local foods rather than organic foods because of the unstable supply of organic foods. Conclusions: Based on the results of this study, it was recommended that the local government implement the policy consistently. Moreover, it was recommended that the government operate the SMSC more efficiently, enhance the roles of the SMSC as the local organization responsible for student nutritional planing and expand the coverage of agricultural products.

국산 유기가공식품 소비의향 분석 (Analysis of Consumption of Homemade Organically Processed Food)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze consumption of homemade organically processed food (HOPF), and to derive directions for consumption promotion of HOPF. A survey was conducted for quantitative analysis regarding consumption. This study used an Ordinal Logistic Regression Model to derive more significant results in analyzing factors of consumption. The findings was that younger consumers with high income are more likely to purchase HOPF. And those consumers with high price and quality contentment are more likely to purchase HOPF. And contentment with certification institutions and improvement of health have a significant positive relationship with consumption. Consumers were found to pay 51 percent more for HOPF than for non-HOPF products. This level show that the current level of price premium for HOPF is 51 percent higher than their desired level. In order to reduce the price premium for HOPF, effective policy programs should be developed. A targeted market strategy to sell HOPF to younger consumers with high income is needed to boost consumption. A strict certification management system should be established to enhance consumer reliability in HOPF.

유기농산물 직거래전략 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Direct Marketing Strategy for Organic Agricultural Products)

  • One of the first important strategic decisions when a starting an organic marketing initiative (OMI) is to plan the right strategy for distributing products. This decision depends to a large extent on whether the OMI has chosen a quality-premium product strategy or a price-quantity strategy. All distribution decisions interact strongly with other aspects of the marketing mix. Where and how a product is distributed objectives, its chosen strategy and the availability of human and capital resources. To select a market channel, frequent contact and discussions with possible partner are important. Generally, a distribution is made between the direct and indirect physical distribution of organic products to consumers. The longer the supply chain, the lower the chances that an OMI can steer the market through its own marketing measures and convince consumers through its own promotion activities. Generally speaking, the shorter the chain between OMI products and the final consumer, the less dependent the OMI will be on the success of other market actors. Direct selling activities to the retail or food industries also requires an OMI to undertake additional processing and marketing activities. For example, retailers often expect products to have been packed and labelled ready for sale. To conclude, distribution channels should be chosen in accordance with the product and price policy as well as the management capacity of the OMI.

  • The goal of this study is to promote the spread of environmentally friendly agricultural products, which have been receiving a lot of attention lately, as a way to improve food safety and quality. As a result of the increased labor input, increased production costs, and an aging population, environmentally friendly agriculture is making it more difficult for farmers to expand their enterprises. In the meantime, consumers find it difficult to spread eco-friendly agricultural products due to their high expectations for safety and quality, as well as the desire to purchase products at a reasonable price. Previous studies have revealed differences in perceptions between eco-friendly agricultural producers and consumers. In light of this, this study divided consumers based on their characteristics (such as age, purchase history, health concerns, etc.), and different policies were proposed in order to increase purchasing factors for each group based on their characteristics. In order to gather information for this study, general citizens were asked about their perceptions of eco-friendly agricultural products, future purchase intentions and awareness, reliability, necessity, purpose, and information sources. A two-step clustering analysis was conducted using nominal and continuous variables simultaneously. The paper presents the three derived group differences (senior organic interest group, middle-aged organic interest group, and indifferent young organics) as well as group differences for the purchasing/non-purchasing factor analysis and policy improvement for each group. An eco-friendly agricultural product distribution proposal was made at the end of this article.

저장기간 및 저장온도에 따른 미생물농약 및 친환경 유기농자재 유효미생물의 밀도변동 (Population Dynamics of Effective Microorganisms in Microbial Pesticides and Environmental-friendly Organic Materials According to Storing Period and Temperature)

  • 친환경농자재의 품질관리와 관련하여 친환경 실천 농가를 대상으로 친환경농자재 선택사유, 사용방법, 선택기준, 선호 제형을 조사한 결과, 선택사유는 토양개량>병해충방제>생육촉진 순으로 나타났고, 사용방법은 구입즉시 사용하는 농가는 22.7%인 반면 보관하면서 사용하는 농가가 77.3%이었다. 시판 유통 중인 친환경제제 17종을 구입하여 구입 즉시 제제 중 미생물 농도를 조사한 결과, 친환경유가농자재(미생물제제, 토양미생물제, 친환경유기농자재) 2종은 보증 미생물 밀도가 기준치 이하로 품절 관리측면에서 문제가 있는 것으로 나타난 반면, 미생물농약으로 등록되어 사용되는 제품 중 미생물 밀도는 비교적 안정적이었다. 시판 유통 중인 친환경제제 17종을 6개월간 온도별로 저장하면서 제제 중 보증 미생물 농도를 조사한 결과, $4^{\circ}C$에 저장할 때에는 미생물농약은 1종의 액상제형 미생물제만이 기준치 이하였으며, 친환경유기농자내 8종 중 4종이 기준치 이하였다. 온도의 변화가 큰 실온에 저장할 때에는 전환경농자재는 7종 중 5종이, 미생물농약은 9종 중 4종이 기준치 이하로 나타나 $4^{\circ}C$$25^{\circ}C$의 정온 조건에 보관할 때보다는 온도가 변화되는 조건에 저장할 때 영향을 크게 받는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 미생물제제의 저장온도에 따른 미생물의 변화는 저온($5^{\circ}C$) > $25^{\circ}C$(정온) > 변온(실온) 순으로 안정적이었으며, 제형에 따른 저장성은 입제 > 액상수화제 > 액상제 순으로 우수하였다.

유기농산물 소비자인식이 재구매의사에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Consumer Awareness of Organic Agricultural Products on Repurchase Intention)

  • Purpose - The number of consumers adopting a lifestyle of health and sustainability has recently increased with the rise of trends in healthy living. The size of the organic agricultural product market has also increased given that these consumers prefer consuming environmentally friendly products that promote family health. However, awareness of organic agricultural products remains insufficient because of the characteristics of the Korean organic agriculture system, which only focuses on food safety inspection. The object of this research is to suggest a policy approach to increase understanding and to expand the purchasing of organic agricultural products by analyzing the influence of customer recognition of such products on their willingness to repurchase. Research design, data, and methodology - This study used binomial logistic regression analysis with the aim of explaining the effects of consumers' socio-demographic characteristics, their awareness of the equivalence arrangement for organic food and of the abolishment of low-pesticide agricultural product certification, and their viewing of negative broadcasts about organic agricultural products on their repurchase intention of such products. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 655 respondents who were in their 20s, lived either in Seoul or in its metropolitan area, and had purchased organic agricultural products. Result - From the results of the analysis, the majority of the respondents recognized organic agricultural products, but they found their prices to be expensive. The majority of the respondents were also aware of the certification system and the reliability of organic agricultural products. However, the results indicate that efforts need to be made to recover consumer trust as many respondents stated that their trust levels in these products were low. In general, those purchasing organic agricultural products were satisfied, but those answering "very satisfied" were not in the majority. Binomial logistic regression analysis results revealed that repurchase intention decreased as consumers viewed a greater number of negative broadcasts about these products. On the other hand, repurchase intention increased as they became more aware of the abolishment of low-pesticide certification. Repurchase intention also increased as income increased, as the number of family members decreased, and when a consumer was a member of a consumer organization. In addition, the older the consumers were who watched the TV programs, the smaller the number of family members that were aware of the abolishment of low-pesticide agricultural product certification and, the higher the income of the consumers aware of organic equivalence arrangement, the greater their repurchase intention. Conclusion - External stimuli, such as negative TV programs on organic agricultural products and the abolishment of the low-pesticide agricultural product certification, relevant social issues and systems, influence consumer repurchase intention. To that end, positive environmental and ecological broadcasting about organic agricultural products would contribute to an increase in purchasing. Additionally, this could be used for promotion and marketing plans as the results indicate that trust in organic agricultural products would cause a positive repurchasing effect.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of environmental sound rice farming method on the productivity of rice industry which may result in impacts on the staple food securities. Recently fanners have been concerned about adopting new rice cultivation method such as organic and low input farming system in which fertilizer and pesticide can be substantially reduced so as to alleviate the burden of agro-ecosystem. However, It has been argued about whether or not there are negative impacts on the self sufficiency rate of food, income of farm household and technological adaptability. Therefore this study examined the productivity trend of environmental rice farming system and predicted the long term rice self-sufficiency rate when environmental rice farming system are adopted by assuming various scenarios. It was estimated that rice self-sufficiency rate can be decreased up to 52.2% by 2010. Based on the analysis of results, policy recommendations for environmentally sound rice farming were suggested as follows: 1) gradual adopting and transferring of environmental rice cultivation method, 2) increasing profitability of rice growing fanners 3) developing the farm level technology specific to Korean farming condition, 4) institutionalization of direct payments for encouraging environmental rice fanning.

고품질화 바이오가스 이용 기술지침 마련을 위한 연구(II): 도시가스 및 수송용 - 정밀모니터링 결과 중심으로 (A Study on Establishment of Technical Guideline of the Installation and Operation for the Biogas Utilization of Transportation and City Gas: Results of the Precision Monitoring)

  • 본 연구는 유기성폐자원(가축분뇨, 음식물류폐기물, 음식물류폐수 등)의 바이오가스 이용에 대한 적정 설계 및 운전 기술지침서 마련하고자 현장조사와 정밀모니터링 등을 실시하였다. 정부의 중장기 바이오가스화 정책에 따라 폐자원의 자원화 시설 확충이 활발히 추진되고 있다. 하지만 생산된 바이오가스를 이용하여 도시가스 및 수송용으로 활용하는 시설은 효율이 아직은 저조하다. 전국 7개소 유기성폐자원 바이오가스화 시설을 대상으로 정밀모니터링을 실시하였다. 사계절 평균으로 정밀모니터링 결과를 정리하였을 때, 유기성폐자원 별 효율성 분석에서 유기성분해율은 VS기준 평균 66.3 %로 분석되었다. 전처리 전후 바이오가스 성상을 분석한 결과 철염 및 탈황(건식, 습식)을 이용하여 전체 시설의 $H_2S$ 평균은 949.7 ppm으로 측정되었으며, 고품질화 정제설비 전단 및 후단에서 29.0 ppm과 0.3 ppm으로 나타났다. 메탄 함량은 소화조 후단에서 65.6 %, 고품질화 정제설비 전단 및 후단에서 63.5 %와 97.5 %까지 감소하는 것을 확인하였다.
