  • Through the vegetation survey of Geumcheon Valley on the south-facing slope and the other side of the valley, Jedanggol on the north-facing slope in Taebaeksan Provincial Park, the characteristics of vegetation structure and change by slope and altitude were examined. From Geumcheon Valley(850m) via the ridge(1,380m) to Jedanggol(950m), thirty plots at intervals of 50m altitude were selected for investigation. According to the results of the analysis, Acer pictum subsp. mono, Fraxinus rhynchophylla, Betula davurica and Lindera obtusiloba were observed only in the south-facing slope, while Sorbus commixta, Prunus padus, Prunus maackii and Acer komarovii were observed only in the north-facing slope. However, Quercus mongolica, Betula costata, Cornus controversa, Tilia amurensis, Acer pseudosieboldianum and Magnolia sieboldii were found to be distributed over both the slopes. The analysis of ordination found that the vegetation was distributed discontinuously by slope. Especially, the vegetation of the north-facing slope appeared to be affected by the direction that the slope faces. Quercus mongolica community, which is the dominant species at an altitude of over 1,200m, was determined to be affected by elevation factor. The maximum age of the major trees was as follows: Betula costata and Quercus mongolica were estimated to be 53-year-old and 113-year-old respectively.

  • To analyze the distribution of plant communities growing in river wetlands and the relationship between biotic and abiotic environmental factors, plant communities and environmental factors were investigated in river wetlands in the Boseong River. The Boseong River Wetland, the research site, consists of Hwapyeong Wetland, Bangujeong Wetland, and Seokgok Wetland. From June to September 2022, a plant community survey was conducted from the perspective of physiognomical vegetation, and the coverage of the emerging species followed the Braun-Blanquet scale. Plant species and the coverage of each species were recorded in the quadrant for plant community survey, and the cover of the quadrant, the total number of species, and the number of exotic species were measured as biological factors. As abiotic factors, altitude, orientation, inclination, soil texture, litter layer depth, dominant species diameter at breast height, and topography were recorded. In a total of 50 square plots, the most common Salix koreensis and Phragmites japonicus communities were found, and the community with the highest Shannon species diversity index was Phragmites japonicus-Echinochloa caudata community. As a result of ordination analysis by DCCA, the most significant clusters were separated according to topographic factors such as leeve, leeve slope, upper floodplain, lower floodplain, upper waterside, middle waterside, lower waterside, river island and opem water. As rare plants that need to be preserved in river wetlands, Hydrocharis dubia and Penthorum chinense were found in lower waterside, and it was found that the management of the river in the reservoir is necessary in line with the topographical distribution of ecosystem-disrupting plants, such as Paspalum distichum var. indutum.

  • With the rise in CPU power and the generalization and popularity of computers, engineering practice also changed from hand calculations to 3D computer models, from elastic linear analysis to 3D nonlinear static analysis and 3D nonlinear transient dynamic analysis. Thanks to holistic design approach and current trends in freeform and contemporary architecture, BIM concept is no longer a dream but also a reality. BIM is not just providing a media for better co-ordination but also to shorten the round-the-clock time in updating models to match with other professional disciplines. With the parametric modeling tools, structural information is also linked with BIM system and quickly produces analysis and design results from checking to fabrication. This paper presents a new framework which not just linked the BIM system by means of parametric mean but also create and produce connection FE model and fabrication drawings etc. This framework will facilitate structural engineers to produce well co-ordinate, optimized and safe structures.

  • This paper is to measure and ealuates the technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency with three inputs and two outputs with the use of DEA(data envelopment analysis) in Korean RCC(Rescue Co-ordination Center/RSC(Rescue Sub-Center). Several conclusion emerge. first the average efficiency of overall technical efficiency measure about $91.03\%$ and pure technical efficiency $96.80\%$ is much large then scale efficiency $93.83\%$. It means that inefficiency has much more to do whit the inefficient utilization of resources rather then the scale of production. second, DRS(decreasing return to scale) is Tongyeong and IRS(increasing return to scale) is Incheon, Taean, Gunsan, Yeosu, Ulsan, Donghae in RCC/RSC. finally, inefficiency RCC/RSC. have to benchmarking with reference sets.

  • This study was carried out to analyze community character and classify forest community with phytosociological method and quadrat method to forest of Mt. Busosan in Buyeo-Gun.1. Communities by phytosociological method were classified into Pinus densiflora community and Quercus sp. community. With the classification of TWINSPAN, the community was categorized into Pinus densiflora - Quercus variabilis community and Pinus densiflora - Styrax japonica community.2. The importance value of Pinus densiflora, Quercus acutissima, Prunus sargentii, Styrax japonica, Quercus serrata, Quercus variabilis, Pinus rigida, Quercus aliena in tree layer were 83.20, 41.87, 30.93, 24.85, 23.27, 20.97, 20.28, and 9.46, respectively. The relative coverage of Stephanandra incisa, Quercus serrata, Styrax japonica, Parthenocissua tricuspidata, Rhododendron mucronulatum, Lindera obtusiloba, Prunus sargentii, Quercus variabilis, Indigofera kirilowii, Quercus acutissima, Lespedeza maximowiczii, and Acer pseudosibolianum in shrub layer were 9.62%, 9.55%, 9.18%, 7.85%, 6.18%, 5.25%, 4.82%, 4.15%, 3.98%, 3.98%, 3.55%, and 2.98%, respectively.3. According to size distribution map of diameter breast height of dominant species, the dominant species of Mt. Busosan was Pinus densiflora, and Quercus sp. such as Quercus acutissima, Quercus variabilis, and Quercus serrata may compete with the Pinus densiflora in the future.4. According to the ordination analysis of Mt. Busosan forest, Pinus densiflora - Styrax japonica community was found in moist site and Pinus densiflora - Quercus variabilis community was found in dry site.

  • To discern general tendency in relatively pure even-aged pine stands, to group the stands and to perceive neighbourhood effects a total of 39 sites of pine stand was surveyed from nearby Seoul (12 sites), Chunsung, Kangwon (13 sites) and Sosan, Chungnam (14 sites), for herb and shrub species 32, 19; 37, 19 and 41, 14 in the respective areas from September 1987 to July 1988. In terms of detrended correspondence analysis (DECORANA), the stands were subjected to ordinate with 16 physical variables and the vegetational variables. The resource ratio (N:P, N:K, P:K) as physical variables also was tried out in the DECORANA as well as independent variable (N.P.K). The outcome did not show any meaningful difference. It is suggested that there seems to be no apparent interaction among the elements in the study. Three vertical vegetation componeent, that is, tree layer, shrub layer, herb layer were subjccted to DECORANA independently, pairwisely and as a whole (a total 7 combinations). Of those analysis herb layer trial alone seems to indicate relatively clearer differences among the physical variables. In the stands nearby Seoul first axis indicated soil field capacity and exchangeable cations (K, Ca and Na) and second axis did not show any tendency. For the Chunsung stands first axis also revealed soil field capcity and amount of arganic matter and second axis showed amount of exchangeable cation (K, Ca and Na), In the Seosan 1st axis indicated pH and exchangeable cations (K, Ca and Na). For the 39 sites 4 clusters in terms of herb layer might be defined: Peucedanum terebinthaceum-Cymbopogon tortilis-Polygala japonica-Festuca ovina (1); Atractylodes japonica-Patrina scabiosaefolia (2); Potentilla fragarioides-Atractylodes (3); and Cymbopogon tortilis (4). In the neighbourhood effects study in terms of the basal area distribution, Thiessen polygon area and Gini coefficient for the Pinus thunbergii stands of Seosan the Thiessen polygon area approach seems to indicate earlier (30 years old) neighbourhood effect than the others (45 years).

  • To investigate the forest structure in Ijontong Cholto area, twenty four plots were set up (each l0$\times$10m ) and surveyed. According to the analysis of ordination by DCA, community divided into 5 groups. The divided groups are Quercus serrata -Q. valiabilis community(I), Q. serrata - Pinus densiflora community(II), Q. mongolica - Lindera obtusiloba community(III), Carpinus laxiflora - Acer pseudo-sieboldianum community(IV) and Acer mono community(V). So the successional trends seems to be from P. densiflora through Q. serrata, Q. valiabilis, Q. mongolica to C. laxiflora, C. cordata, A. mono in canopy layer. And in the subtree and shrub layer, it was expected that from Rhododendron mucronulatum, Rh. schlippenbachii to A. pseudo-sieboldianum, L. obtusiloba. But some sites were likely to become Q. mongolica edaphic climax.

  • Vegetational changes along elevational and topographical gradients were studied in Mt. Jumbong which is located at the core area of the Mt. Sorak Biosphere Reserve in Kangwon-do Province in central Korea. Two 500 m north-south transects crossing two valleys and a small ridge were laid out, and fifty-one 10 m$\times$10 m permanent quadrats were systematically set up. All trees bigger than 2.5 cm DBH were marked with numbered aluminum tags, and their DBH measured and the species identified. Coverage of plant species in the herb layer were determined in two 2 m $\times$ 2 m subquadrats in each of the permanent quadrats. Thirty-two species of woody plants occurred in the tree layer in the permanent quadrats studied. Quercus mongolica was the dominant species across the study site, and Acer pseudosieboldianum and Carpinus cordata were also important. Quercus mongolica occurred on the ridges and south-facing slopes, and Acer pseudosieboldianum occurred extensively except for valleys. In contrast, Fraxinus mandshurica, Acer mono, Acer triflorum, and Ulmus laciniata were common in valleys. At the herbaceous layer, 112 species were identified. Dominant species were Ainsliaea acerifolia and Sasa borealis on the ridges, Meehania urticifolia on north-facing slopes, and Deutzia glabrata on valleys. Soil environmental factors were compared among the quadrats. pH was lower in the quadrats located on ridges and south-facing slopes, and organic matter was lowest on south-facing slopes. Quadrats located on valleys were generally higher in pH, organic matter, N, P, K, Ca and Mg. DCA ordinations for tree layer and herb layer were carried out in order to identify the dominant environmental factors affecting the distribution of plant species along the environmental gradients. Correlation analysis between ordination axis scores and environmental factors showed that axis one was negatively correlated with elevation and positively correlated with soil organic matter, pH, Ca, Mg, and P, but that axis two was positively correlated with elevation. These results indicate that vegetation responds very sensitively to elevational and topographical gradients although the study area is relatively small with about 100 m in elevational variation.
