Dynamic Thermal Rating of Transmission Line Based on Environmental Parameter Estimation

  • The transmission capacity of transmission lines is affected by environmental parameters such as ambient temperature, wind speed, wind direction and so on. The environmental parameters can be measured by the installed measuring devices. However, it is impossible to install the environmental measuring devices throughout the line, especially considering economic cost of power grid. Taking into account the limited number of measuring devices and the distribution characteristics of environment parameters and transmission lines, this paper first studies the environmental parameter estimating method of inverse distance weighted interpolation and ordinary Kriging interpolation. Dynamic thermal rating of transmission lines based on IEEE standard and CIGRE standard thermal equivalent equation is researched and the key parameters that affect the load capacity of overhead lines is identified. Finally, the distributed thermal rating of transmission line is realized by using the data obtained from China meteorological data network. The cost of the environmental measurement device is reduced, and the accuracy of dynamic rating is improved.

수치해석을 통한 진공유리 제작 및 성능실험에 관한 연구 (A Study on Performance Test and Fabrication of Vacuum Glazing with Numerical Analysis)

  • For air-tight modern buildings, secondary damage is likely to occur due to condensation in the relatively high heat-transmission windows since water vapor is not easy to discharge. Therefore, in this study, condensation performance of vacuum glazing was numerically analysed, compared with that of ordinary glass and confirmed experimentally by three sheets of vacuum glazing manufactured. The results show that the heat transmission coefficient of the vacuum glazing whose internal pressure is $10^{-3}$ torr was as low as about $5.7W/m^2{\cdot}K$. Thus, the condensation performance as well as the adiabatic performance was greatly improved compared to that of the ordinary glass.

  • In this study, an acoustical characteristics of sound proof panel for high speed train was performed. A sound absorption coefficient and transmission loss of sound proof panels for high speed train were tested in reverberation chambers and compared those of ordinary sound proof panel. The effect of noise barrier was simulated by using ray noise program with measured sound absorption coefficient for high speed train case and for ordinary case.

FTIR 터치스크린 아크릴 계면의 전반사 현상 연구 (A Study on Incompletion of TIR within Acrylate of FTIR Touch Screen)

  • FTIR (Frustrated Total Internal Reflection) 터치스크린에서 아크릴 내의 전반사(TIR) 현상이 깨지는 원인을 조사하였다. 먼저 3층 박막(매질1 ($n_1$)-매질2 ($n_2$)-매질3 ($n_3$), $n_1=n_3{\neq}n_2$에서 굴절율의 상대적인 크기에 따라 매질1에서 FTIR 또는 매질1로부터 매질3으로 일반투과(Ordinary Transmission : OT) 현상이 나타남을 확인하고, 이들(FTIR과 OT)의 투과율 이론값은 인접한 두 반사광(또는 투과광)들의 위상차의 실수화 또는 허수화 과정을 통해 서로 전환됨을 이론적으로 유도하였다. 이와 병행하여 터치스크린에 손가락과 같은 외부 접촉에 의해 아크릴판(acrylate) 내에 형성된 전반사 조건이 깨지는 현상을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석과 실험을 토대로, 접촉 인식을 좋게 하기 위한 투명하고 굴절율이 아크릴과 유사한 젖음성 매체(wettable medium)를 적용한 FTIR 터치스크린 구조를 제안하였다.

Simulation of Voltage and Current Distributions in Transmission Lines Using State Variables and Exponential Approximation

  • A new method for simulating voltage and current distributions in transmission lines is described. It gives the time domain solution of the terminal voltage and current as well as their line distributions. This is achieved by treating voltage and current distributions as distributed state variables (DSVs) and turning the transmission line equation into an ordinary differential equation. Thus the transmission line is treated like other lumped dynamic components, such as capacitors. Using backward differentiation formulae for time discretization, the DSV transmission line component is converted to a simple time domain companion model, from which its local truncation error can be derived. As the voltage and current distributions get more complicated with time, a new piecewise exponential with controllable accuracy is invented. A segmentation algorithm is also devised so that the line is dynamically bisected to guarantee that the total piecewise exponential error is a small fraction of the local truncation error. Using this approach, the user can see the line voltage and current at any point and time freely without explicitly segmenting the line before starting the simulation.

초등학교 교실의 음환경 평가에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Research on the Room Acoustical Environment of the Elementary School Classrooms)

  • Since 1990s in Korea, elementary school classrooms have been designed toward open education system in pursuit of variety of educational purpose. Also, the architectural designs of schools have been acomplished for individual school not based on the standard design code. The present paper aims to investigate the acoustic environment of existing classrooms and to compare the sound insulation capacity between the ordinary classrooms and the newly built classrooms for open education. The current acoustical situation of elementary classrooms was analyzed using field measurements and questionnaire survey. In order to this, Three elementary schools were selected which were built in 1978, 1996 and 2000 respectively. Room acoustical parameters including Reverberation time(RT), Definition(D50), Speech Intelligibility(RASTI), Transmission loss(TL) and STC were measured in a classroom in each elementary school classroom. Each measurement was undertaken with the windows and doors being open or closed. As the result, it was found that the transmission loss between rooms in open classrooms is, $5{\sim}6dB$ in average, inferior than the ordinary classrooms. The RASTI of 0.70 was measured in newly built classrooms which is better than old classrooms(0.70) and open classrooms(0.73). This was shown as same in the speech definition measurements. This results from the condition of sealing and airtightness of classrooms and floor materials. The results denote that open classrooms have poor acoustic condition in sound insulation and speech intelligibility.

영구자석형 비접촉식 동력전달 기어의 전달토크에 관한 연구 (Study on the Torque Calculation of Touch Free Gear Using Permanent Magnet)

  • Permanent magnetic gears are magneto-mechanical devices that are widely used to replace the ordinary mechanical gear and to transmit torque without the mechanical contact. This study investigates the characteristics of touch free permanent magnetic gear according to the employing systems. The effect of the magnetic torque is analyzed by using 3 dimensional Finite Element Method (FEM). To estimate the transmission torque of FEM model, the numerical results are compared with the experimental results. The influences of geometry size, magnet number on transmission torque are obtained. As results of this paper, it is confirmed that the transmission torque behavior is associated with the configuration of the magnet numbers and the air gap between the two permanent magnetic gears.

무손실 점진적 영상 전송을 위한 피라미드 데이터 구조에 관한 연구 (A Pyramid Data Structure for Progressive Lossless Image Transmission)

  • Extended reduced difference pyramid (ERDP) is proposed for lossless progressive image transmission, which is based on a new transform called rounded-transform(RT). The RT is a nonlinear and reversible transform of integers into integers utilizing two kinds of the rounding operations such as round up and down. The ERDP can be obtained from an N-poing RT or a series of RTs of both. For the performance evaluation, the entropy of the difference images to be transmitted is used as a lower bound transmission rate. Two examples of the ERDP can be easily shown, which is more effective in the entropy than the ordinary RDP.

  • Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is usually regarded as a spectral efficient multicarrier modulation technique, yet it suffers from a high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) problem. Among all the existing PAPR reduction techniques in OFDM systems, side information based PAPR reduction techniques such as partial transmit sequence (PTS) and selective mapping (SLM) schemes, have attracted the most attention. However, the transmission of side information results in somewhat spectral loss and this does not significantly improve the bit error rate (BER) performance. Parallel combinatory (PC) OFDM yields higher spectral efficiency (SE) and better BER performance on Gaussian channels,while is a little but not obvious PAPR improvement over the ordinary OFDM system. This investigation aimed to design a 'perfect' OFDM system. We introduce the side information to rotate the subcarrier phases of our novel PC-OFDM system structure, and call this new system the SIPC(Side information based Parallel Combinatory)-OFDM system. The proposed system achieves better PAPR and SE performance. In addition, considering the tradeoff of system parameters, the proposed system also has the properties of a higher BER.

  • In this paper, we designed the extended ATA(AT Attachment interface with extension) interface that combines with goods price and ability and intellectual behavior of SCSI, for make progress the ability and structure of ordinary interface for connect with device of using PC. ATA is establish a standard of IDE(Intelligent Drive Electronics) public in small form factor. SCSI bus is device behaving intellectual and have stable hardware structure, calssified instructions structure. But it is device that difficult to buy, because of price of more than two times. The other side, ATA device is worse than SCSI bus in part of ability, but it came to SCSI in part of speed after improve and it's price is less expensive. another improvement of ATA is a standard of ARAP(AT Attachment Packet Interface) and use method of packet transmission and behaves as if SCSI use a method. Finally, improvement of ATAPI behave from interface of only HDD to ability of ordinary interface. This paper propose the structure of extended interface that satisfied the price and ability.
