The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of oral health education practice and schoolteacher's self-efficacy on oral health attitude. The data of 217 dental hygienists was subjected to path analysis using AMOS 16.0. Oral health knowledge, attitude, self-efficacy and oral health education practice of schoolteacher were measurement variables of three path models. The goodness of fitness of Knowledge-Attitude-Practice model and Knowledge-Attitude-Self efficacy -Practice model were acceptable. The regression weights of two models were statistically significant. Oral health education practice of schoolteacher gave impact on oral health attitude by mediation of self-efficacy of schoolteacher. Self-efficacy of schoolteacher was a important determinant of oral health education practice. Oral health attitude and practice were supposed to be mutual determinants of health behavior models.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the oral health education effect considering the integrated factors of oral health and education for children in some community child center. The subjects in this study were 124 selected children, on whom a survey conducted from May 12 to August 13, 2014. The data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0. The finding of the study were as follows: First, change of rolling method and change toothbrushing in the gum and the tongue by after oral health education(p<0.05). Second, change of dietary control behavior and attitude(p<0.05). Third, change of method of preventing a dental caries behavior and attitude(p<0.05). Fourth, as for the level of oral health awareness and change of attitude were more aware than before oral health education(p<0.05). Given the findings of the study, the continuous oral health education and development of programs intending for children in some community child center seems necessary.
Objectives : This study was to investigate the impact of dietary habits and obesity on level of oral health in the elementary school children and to characterize the relationship among dietary habits, obesity and level of oral health by DMFT index and perceived oral health. Methods : Participants were 314 total students from one elementary school who lived Yeosan. Self-administered questionnaires were given to the subjects from March 25 through May 12, 2008, to identify their the degree of dietary habits, perceived oral health. A trained investigator made an oral examination of them in natural light using a mirror and explorer to determine their DMFT index. We classified the subjects into Data were analyzed with T-test, one-way ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple range test, pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression using the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Results : Regarding dietary habit, the subjects achieved a mean of 10.52${\pm}$3.80 out of a maximum 20 points. The DMFT index in the subject was 0.60${\pm}$2.03. The group of obesity by gender were 19.2% and 22.5%. Moreover, those who were children and had more severe level of obesity felt that their perceived oral health and DMFT index were higher. There was a significant assocciation of oral health among elementary school children with obesity. Conclusion : These results suggest that oral health behavioral and attitude, dietary habits and obesity influenced the level of oral health. Thus further research targeting to positive attitude toward effective management of childhood obesity combined with significant dietary habits, may lead to promotion of oral health.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of repetitive oral health education on oral health knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of elementary school students. A final analysis of 111 untested individuals was made. The oral health knowledge and oral health behavior scores according to the presence or absence of oral health education showed a higher level than the school that did not perform oral health education for 3 years (p <0.01). Repeated and continuous oral health education of elementary school students has a great influence on oral health knowledge and behavioral change, so if the dental hygienists can stay and manage oral health care, the effect will be increased.

The study materials used oral hygiene examination, oral health attitude and oral health behavior scores, and compared their pre and post results. This study was a pre-post test design for a single group. The research period was from September to mid-December, 2018. The subjects of the study were 33 participants who visit for the class and 33 students for the survey of education preference. The data analysis used IBM SPSS 24.0 Ver, a significant level was 0.05. As a result, O' Leary index and halitosis as oral hygiene examination were significantly reduced according to intervention pre and post using Qraycam (p<.001). The oral health attitude and oral health behavior score were statistically significantly high according to intervention pre and post using Qraycam (p<.001). The satisfaction level was significantly high when using Qraycam among students' preference for education methods in the categories "useful in oral health education" and "a good ability to recognize and determine plaque" (p<.001). In conclusion, oral health education using Qraycam in dental clinics will be a way to improve oral health education effects for dental hygienists.
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of oral health education experience on needs for oral health education in children and adolescents in elementary and secondary schools. A self-administered survey was conducted on the students in elementary, middle and high schools located in the city of Mokpo, South Jeolla Province, from October 1 to 31, 2018. The data that were collected from 327 students were analyzed by SPSS 21.0. Statistical data on frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation were obtained, and t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis and logistic regression analysis were carried out. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the subjects got 2.25 on a three-point scale in self-rated oral health status. This score was above average, which indicated that the students thought they were in good oral health. As for problems with oral health, dental caries was given the highest score of 2.48 on a five-point scale, followed by oral malodor with 2.35. Second, the students who experienced oral health education accounted for 69.1 percent, and the students who felt the need for this education represented 82.6 percent. As for educational content desired, the biggest group of 57.8 percent hoped to learn about how to prevent and manage dental caries, and the second largest group of 17 percent wanted to learn about how to take care of oral health during orthodontic treatment. Third, as a result of investigating the state of oral health education by the grade of school, the elementary school students had more oral health education experience than the middle and high school students, and the middle school students placed the most importance on the necessity of oral health education. The differences were statistically significant. Fourth, as a result of analyzing the correlation between oral health education experience and the necessity of oral health education, the students who had more oral health education experience asked more for this education, which implies that there was a statistically significant positive correlation. The findings of the study ascertained that oral health education should be provided for students in childhood and adolescence to boost the level of their oral health knowledge and change their oral health attitude in a positive manner. If oral health practice programs that connect schools, local communities and families with one another are developed to guide the oral health behaviors of teenagers in the right direction, it will make a contribution to the promotion of oral health.
