최적 입체시를 제공하기 위한 상호작용 기반 다시점 모바일 디스플레이 모의장치 개발 (Development of Multi-View Simulator for Mobile Display based on Augmented Reality for Providing an Optimum Viewing Zone)

  • 무안경방식 입체 디스플레이에서 유발되는 크로스토크는 최적 입체시를 저해하는 요소로 작용한다. 이런 이유로 디스플레이 개발자들은 최적 입체시를 위해서 반드시 크로스토크를 고려해야 한다. 그러나 다양한 디스플레이의 특성과 시청 환경에 따라서 실제 디스플레이 설계에서 정량적으로 측정하기 어렵다. 따라서 본 논문은 무안경방식 입체 디스플레이에서 발생하는 주요 인자들을 정량적으로 측정하고 이들 상호적인 관계를 정성적으로 분석할 수 있는 시뮬레이터를 개발함으로써 최적의 모바일용 입체시를 가이드 할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 증강 현실(augmented reality) 기술을 이용하여 모바일용 시청 영역 범위를 가이드 한다. 실험 및 시뮬레이션 결과에서, 제안한 시뮬레이터는 모바일 디스플레이를 사용하는 실제 공간에서 발생할 수 있는 시역간 크로스토크를 가시화 하여 디스플레이 개발자들이 상호작용을 통하여 최적의 입체시 제공할 수 있도록 디스플레이를 직관적으로 설계할 수 있도록 한다.

최대강도투사를 이용한 관찰 위치와 거리에 최적화 된 입체 자기공명 뇌 혈관영상 재구성 (Reconstruction of Stereo MR Angiography Optimized to View Position and Distance using MIP)

  • 목적 : 뇌에 분포하는 동맥혈관을 관찰할 때 흔히 자기공명 뇌혈관 데이터(Magnetic Resonance Angiography, MRA)를 이용한다. 하지만 뇌혈관 데이터의 경우 관찰하고자 하는 부위의 혈관을 직접적으로 관찰하기 어렵다. 이러한 3차원 데이터를 2차원 디스플레이 장치에 나타내기 위해 최대강도투사(Maximum Intensity Projection, MIP) 영상이 흔히 이용된다. 데이터의 투사방향에 위치한 복셀들 중 최대값을 가지는 복셀을 투사하여 최대강도투사 영상을 얻게 된다. 혈관의 경우 큰 복셀값을 가지기 때문에 영상에서 밝게 나타난다. 하지만 투사방향에 중첩되어 있는 일부 혈관들이 투사하는 과정에서 최대값을 가지는 혈관들에 가려져 나타나지 않게 되기 때문에 깊이 정보를 잃게 된다. 또한 정해진 위치에서의 투사영상 밖에 얻을 수 없다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 최대강도투사 영상이 가지는 이러한 단점들을 개선하여 뇌혈관의 분포를 3차원 공간상에서 최적화 된 입체영상으로 보는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 우리는 4개의 채널 코일과 3.0T 자기공명영상장치 (Siemens Tim Trio MRI scanner)를 이용하여 피험자의 머리를 고정시키고 3차원 위상대조 (Phase-Contrast, PC) 시퀀스를 적용하여 3차원 뇌혈관 데이터를 얻었다. 얻어진뇌혈관 데이터의 중심점을 기준으로 3차원 공간 회전 알고리즘을 적용하여 회전된 새로운 데이터를 얻은 다음 이 데이터를 기준 수평면상에 투사하여 뇌혈관에 대한 2차원 최대강도투사 영상을 구한다. 이 때 입체영상 구현을 위해 두 눈과 데이터의 중심이 이루는 수렴각에 맞게 뇌혈관 데이터를 각각 공간 회전시킨 후 투사하여 각각의 눈에 적합한 영상들을 구하고 이를 적청안경방식 (anaglyph)을 이용하여 관찰함으로써 최적의 입체감을 가지는 최대강도투사 영상을 얻는다. 결과 : 결과 영상을 살펴보면 우선 기존의 방법들에서는 불가능했던 뇌혈관 데이터의 다양한 위치에서의 최대강도투사 영상이 가능해졌다는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 관찰자와 데이터 사이의 거리와 두 눈 사이의 거리를 고려하여 보다 사실적인 입체감을 가지는 입체 최대강도투사 영상을 얻었다. 결론적으로 관찰자가 바라보는 방향과 관찰자와 데이터 사이의 거리에 따른 최적의 입체영상을 얻을 수 있었다. 결론 : 제안하는 방법은 단일 최대강도투사 영상을 관찰자의 위치를 고려하여 입체영상으로 변환시킴으로써 최적의 입체감을 가지는 입체 투사 영상을 구하였다. 그리고 구면좌표계 상에서 뇌혈관 데이터의 다양한 투사방향에서의 최대강도투사 영상을 나타낼 수 있었다. 추후 알고리즘 최적화와 병렬연산 프로세스가 적용된다면 진단과 수술 계획에 필요한 뇌혈관의 입체 정보들을 실시간으로 제공해 줄 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

Learning-Based Multiple Pooling Fusion in Multi-View Convolutional Neural Network for 3D Model Classification and Retrieval

  • We design an ingenious view-pooling method named learning-based multiple pooling fusion (LMPF), and apply it to multi-view convolutional neural network (MVCNN) for 3D model classification or retrieval. By this means, multi-view feature maps projected from a 3D model can be compiled as a simple and effective feature descriptor. The LMPF method fuses the max pooling method and the mean pooling method by learning a set of optimal weights. Compared with the hand-crafted approaches such as max pooling and mean pooling, the LMPF method can decrease the information loss effectively because of its "learning" ability. Experiments on ModelNet40 dataset and McGill dataset are presented and the results verify that LMPF can outperform those previous methods to a great extent.

Lyapunov 안정성을 이용한 구동장치의 강인 최단시간 제어기 설계 (Robust Near Time-optimal Controller Design for a Driving System Using Lyapunov Stability)

  • This paper proposes a high performance position controller for a driving system using a time optimal controller which has been widely used to control driving systems to achieve desired reference position or velocity in a minimum response time. The main purpose of this research lies in an improvement of transient response performance rather than that of steady-state response in comparison with other control strategies. In order to refine the scheme of time optimal control, Lyapunov stability proofs are incorporated in a controller of standard second order system model. This scheme is applied to the control of a driving system. In view of the simulation and experiment results, the standard second order system model exhibits better minimum-time control performance and robustness than double integral system model does.

가용도를 고려한 장비의 최적 예비부품수 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Determining the Optimal Number of Equipment Spares under Availability Consideration)

  • This paper addresses the problem of determining the optimal number of spares for a system consisting of multi-item parts. In commercial sector, the cost minimization is mainly considered as an objective functions in most inventory models. However, in the military inventory systems, it is more stressed on maximizing the system availability than minimizing the system cost because the field commander always wants the system to be in perfect working condition to prepare against an emergence case. In this point of view, this paper develops an inventory model which decides the optimal number of spares by minimizing units short and simultaneously achieving a certain level of system availability. Solution algorithms are derived using the generalized Lagrange multiplier approach and marginal analysis approach. Sample data and output results are provided and sensitivity analysis is performed as the level of system availability changes in order to decide the optimal number of spares and availability in terms of economic sense.

OPTIMAL IMPACT ANGLE CONSTRAINED GUIDANCE WITH THE SEEKER'S LOCK-ON CONDITION

  • In this paper, an optimal guidance law with terminal angle constraint considering the seeker's lock-on condition, in which the target is located within the field-of-view (FOV) and detection range limits at the end of the midcourse phase, is proposed. The optimal solution is obtained by solving an optimal control problem minimizing the energy cost function weighted by a power of range-to-go subject to the terminal constraints, which can shape the guidance commands and the missile trajectories adjusting guidance gains of the weighting function. The proposed guidance law can be applied to both of the midcourse and terminal phases by setting the desired relative range and look angle to the final interception conditions. The performance of the proposed guidance law is analyzed through nonlinear simulations for various engagement conditions.

Study on Distortion and Field of View of Contents in VR HMD

  • Recently, VR HMD (virtual reality head mounted display) has been utilized for virtual training, entertainment, vision therapy, and optometry. In particular, virtual reality contents are increasingly used for vision therapy and optometry. Accordingly, high-quality virtual reality contents such as a natural vision of life is required. Therefore, it is necessary to study the content production according to the optical characteristics of the VR HMD. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a proper FOV (field of view) of contents according to the distortion rate. We produced virtual reality contents and obtained distorted images by virtual camera. The distortion rate is calculated by using the distorted image. It is proved that the optimal FOV of the VR content with the minimum distortion is $90{\sim}100^{\circ}$. The results of this study are expected to be applied to the production of high quality contents.

국내외 여성복 원형의 치수 적합성 평가 (A Comparative Research on the fitness test of the Basic Bodice Patterns for Women)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the fitness according to drafting method of the block patterns for women in Korea. The major findings of this study are as follows: 1. According to each sensory test of the frontal view, back view, side view and silhouette Block Pattern I is the best of them in summation of the sensory tests score. Block, Pattern D and I have good shape too. However the best block Pattern D shows good score in evaluation of overall fitness and silhouette. 2. Most of block patterns, which show high scores in sensory tests, are the Compromise Method taking merits of the Proportional Method and Short Measure Method among the Pattern Drafting Methods. Box-shape patterns show low score in the sensory tests. 3. Regarding to the number of measurement, the patterns of the Compromise Method using 6-8 measurements seem to be optimal. In degree of fitness, loose fit type basic patterns are better than other patterns from a viewpoint of the total satisfaction.

Economic-based approach for predicting optimal water pipe renewal period based on risk and failure rate

  • This study suggests a method for calculating the benefits of water pipe renewal based on an estimate of the water supply suspension risk. The proposed method based on five benefit items is more direct and specific than other benefit estimation methods. In addition, a methodology evaluating the economics of pipe renewal based on pipe failure rate is proposed for estimating the optimal renewal point from an economic perspective. By estimating the optimal renewal period based on a yearly benefit cost ratio per pipe in a case study area, it was possible to draft an optimal renewal plan for the subject region from an economic perspective. Compared with other methodologies, a reasonable optimal renewal period was derived from an economic point of view. The result of this study may be used to develop future water pipe renewal plans. Moreover, the proposed methodologies and results derived from this study can be applied to asset management plans.

LabVIEW 기반 6축 수직다관절 로봇의 게인스케쥴링 구현 연구 (Gain Scheduling in a 6-Axis Articulated Robot Based on LabVIEW)

  • Recent years have witnessed a growing demand for a wide variety of high-performance industrial robots. In this paper, for accurate gain tuning of a 6-axis articulated industrial robot with reduced noise, a program routine for a dynamic signal analyzer (DSA) using the frequency response method will be programmed using $LabVIEW^{(R)}$. Then, robot transfer functions can be obtained experimentally using the frequency response method with the DSA program. Data from the robot transfer functions are transformed into Bode plots, based on which an optimal gain tuning will be executed. Gain tuning can enhance the response quality of the output signal for a given input signal during real-time control of the robot. The effectiveness of our proposed technique will be verified by implementation with a (lab-manufactured) 6-axis articulated industrial robot (hereinafter called "RS2") and comparison with the zero position gain tuning, as well as other positions.
