혼합 매로시아닌 LB막의 광흡수 스펙트라 (Optical Absorption Spectra of Mixed Merocyanine Dye LB films)

  • In this Paper, optical absorption were performed on LB films of binary mixtures of three kinds of merocranine dyes DO, DS, and 6Me-BS, where DS and 6Me-DS form J-like aggregates but not DO in single component films. The observed optical absorption spectra of mixed films were markedly defendent on the combination of dyes. [6Me-DS]$\sub$1-x/[DOl]$\sub$x/ LB films show a sharp red shifted J-like band peak in the whole concentration range. We found the formation of f aggregates in a mixed merocyanine dyes containing a non J-aggregate forming dye DO, in a single component case. Farther investigations on the present and other mixed-dye films will be needed to clarify these points.

  • Directional coupling optical switch which on the LiNbO$_3$ substrate is fabricated by using proton exchange method and self-aligned method. Proton exchange of proton diffusion method was applied to pattern a waveguide on LiNbO$_3$ substrate. The annealing at 400[$^{\circ}C$] was caroled out to control waveguide width and depth. The process of proton exchange was done at 150[$^{\circ}C$] for 120[min], 200[$^{\circ}C$] for 60[min] and annealing process was done at 400[$^{\circ}C$] for 90[min], 400[$^{\circ}C$] for 60[min]. The high speed directional coupling optical switch has very good figures of merits:the measured high frequency power were achieved.

  • We have investigated the optical and electrochromic properties of molybdenum oxide(MoO$_3$) films by thermal evaporation. The MoO$_3$films deposited at substrate temperatures below 200$^{\circ}C$ are found to be amorphous and annealed films at temperature 300$^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour in air are crystalline. The optical energy gap calculated from the transmittance and reflectance spectra of MoO$_3$ films is near 2.75 eV and 3.25 eV for amorphous films and crystalline films, respectively. The MoO$_3$ thin films exhibit light blue to dark blue optical modulation on lithium intercalation and have a uniform transmittance modulation over a wavelength range of 300∼1100 nmcompared to tungsten oxide films.

  • The influences of fluorophor, scatterer, absorber in turbid material by light scattering were interpreted for the scattered fluorescence intensity and wavelength, it has been studied the molecular properties by laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy. It has been found that the effects of optical properties in scattering media by the optical parameters(${\mu}_{s}$, ${\mu}_{a}$, ${\mu}_{t}$). The value of scattering coefficient ${\mu}_{s}$ is large by means of the increasing particles of scatterer, it has been found that the slope decays exponentially as a function of distance from laser source to detector. It may also aid in designing the best model for oil chemistry, laser medicine and application of medical engineering.

  • Researches about micro technology travel lively in these days. Such many researches are concentrated in the field of materials and a process field. But properties of micro materials should be known to give results of research developed into still more. In these various material properties, reliability data such as mechanical, optical, thermal property, etc is the basic property. In this paper, it is measured that is material properties of main BLU(Back Light Unit) components in LCD(Liquid Crystal Display). The pattern shape of prism sheet, diffuser film and reflective plate are measured by variable 3D scanning equipments. It is researched which is the method to measure an optimal 3D pattern shape in each components.

  • Ultra-high-speed analog and digital ICs (integrated circuits) fur 10Gbit/sec optical communication systems have been designed, fabricated and analyzed in this research. These circuits, which are laser diode (LD) driver, pre-amplifier, automatic gain controlled (AGC) amplifier, limiting amplifier and decision circuit, have been implemented with AIGaAs/GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBTs). The optimized AIGaAs/GaAs HBTs for the 10Gbps circuits in this work showed the cutoff and maximum oscillation frequencies of 65㎓ and 53㎓, respectively. It is demonstrated in this paper that the 10Gbps optical communication system can be realized with the ICs designed and fabricated using AlGaAs/GaAs HBTs.

  • The electro-optical (EO) performance in the vertical-alignment (VA) - 1/4$\pi$ cell photoaligned with polarized UV exposure on a homeotropic photopolymer surfaces was investigated. Excellent voltage-transmittance curve in the VA - 1/4$\pi$ cell photoaligned with polarized UV exposure for 3 min on the photopolymer containing cholesteryl group of 8% can be achieved. The V-T characteristics in the VA-1/4$\pi$ cell photoaligned on the photopolymer surface can be improved by increasing cholesteryl group. For response time measurement, the transmittance characteristics of the VA-1/4$\pi$ cell photopolymer surface was better than that of the VA-1/4$\pi$ cell rubbingaligned on a polyimide(PI) surface.

Nd:LSB 마이크로 칩 레이저 연구 (Research of Nd:LSB microchip laser)

  • 초소형 마이크로 칩 형태의 새로운 레이저 매질인 Nd:LSB(Nd$^{3+}$ :Lasc$_3$(BO$_3$)$_4$/. lanthanum scandium borate)chralski pulling method에 의해 성장하여 광학 특성 조사 및 레이저 발진 실험을 하였다. 광학적, 화학적, 역학적 특성을 모두 그대로 유지한 채 높은 농도로 Nd$^{3+}$ 이온의 도핑이 가능한 Nd:LSB의 결정 특성 및 광학 특성을 기존의 다른 Nd형 레이저 매질과 비교하고, 흡수 및 형광 스펙트럼과 형광 수명 등을 조사하였으며. 결정 구조를 분석하였다. 또한 Ti:sapphi e 레이저를 펌핑 광원으로 하였을 때 레이저 발진 특성을 조사하였다.

이종 물질의 접합계면에 의한 반도체 물질의 광학적 특성 (Optical Properties of Semiconductors Depending on the Contact Characteristic Between Different Groups)

  • To observe the optical characteristic of oxide semiconductor depending on the degree of bonding structures, SiOC, ZnO and IGZO were prepared by the RF magnetron sputter system and chemical vapor deposition. Generally, crystal ZnO, amorphous SiOC and IGZO changed the optical characteristics in according to the electro-chemical behavior due to the oxygen vacancy at an interface between different groups. Transmittance of SiOC and IGZO with amorphous structures was higher than that of ZnO with crystal structure, because of lowering the carrier concentration due to the recombination of electron and holes carriers as oxygen vacancies. Besides, the energy gap of amorphous SiOC and IGZO was higher than the energy gap of crystal ZnO. The diffusion mobility of holes is higher than the drift mobility of electrons.
