  • In this paper, new inspection method is proposed for the surfaces of lead frame and IC's. Optimal optical system and the accurate algorithm for the surface inspection are needed in machine vision area. The proposed optical system is composed of rectangular oblique light illumination and coaxial light illumination for the higher contrast and the results shows the better performances through experiments. The markings of IC surface are inspected using the accurate proposed method using the partitioned correlation coefficient, and the result shows reduction of under kill ratio compared to the previous method.

  • Recent technologic innovations have created possibilities for restorative dentistry, such as computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing. This article presents a CAD process that has been developed for the fabrication of dental restorations. This process uses a 4-axes driving mechanism and an improved optical displacement sensor, successfully applied in other industries. In optical displacement sensor, the light beam emitted from the LED is converged through the light source lenses and thrown on the object to be detected. When the light beam is reflected from the object, however, it is diffused. The diffused light beam is converged again by the receiver lenses and cast on the optical position detector element as a small spot.

  • Monitoring of plasma etch processes for fault detection is one of the hallmark procedures in semiconductor manufacturing. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) has been considered as a gold standard for modeling plasma etching processes for on-line diagnosis and monitoring. However, statistical quantitative methods for processing the OES data are still lacking. There is an urgent need for a statistical quantitative method to deal with high-dimensional OES data for improving the quality of etched wafers. Therefore, we propose a robust relevance vector machine (RRVM) for regression with statistical quantitative features for modeling etch rate and uniformity in plasma etch processes by using OES data. For effectively dealing with the OES data complexity, we identify seven statistical features for extraction from raw OES data by reducing the data dimensionality. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach is more suitable for high-accuracy monitoring of plasma etch responses obtained from OES.

  • An aspheric lens is one of a key point optical element in the optical industry. The feature of an aspheric lens is not to have the spherical aberration. An aspheric lens is also essential element for high-precision and light-weight in the optical machine. Generally it have been used in a tailor progression an aspheric lens modelling much. In this study we applied a lay back-tracer using a index of refraction to draw a creative aspheric lens. Also we developed the automatic design program for aspheric lens. We manufactured the aspheric lens and executed a comparison experiment for refraction situation of shape and straightness experiment to inspect the drawn aspheric lens in this study.

  • The global consumption of aspheric surfaces will expand rapidly on the Electronics and Optical Components, Information and Communications, Aerospace and Defense, and Medical optics markets etc. We must research on market, technology forecast and analysis of aspheric surfaces that is a principle step of ultra precision machine technology with a base one of optical elements. Especially, F-theta lens is one of the important parts in LSU(Laser scanning unit) because it affects on the optical performance of LSU dominantly. The core is most of important to produce plastic F-theta lens by plastic injection molding method, which is necessary to get the ultra-precision aspheric and non-axisymmetric machine processing technology.

  • To make high speed spindle system work properly, sensors with outstanding resolution and dynamic characteristics are essential. An optical fiber displacement sensor is based on simple principles. Electrical signal responds to the optical flux change due to the displacement change between a target and a sensor probe. In this paper, the performance of optical fiber displacement sensor has been investigated according to properties of optical fiber Firstly, optical loss has been measured before and after polishing optical fiber endface. Secondly, allowance of optical fiber bending has been tested. thirdly sensitivity and linear range of the sensor has been found out according to the shape of cross section of optical fiber.

  • An aspherical lens in information technology has been increased in order to enhance the optical performances. There are two kinds of approaches to machine the aspherica surface is generally conducted by the diamond turning machine, precision grinding machine, and polishing machine. This technique, however, has a problem which needs an expensive and high precision machine in order to increase the surface roughness and the machining accuracy. In this paper, a machine, which is able to machine the aspherical surface, was developed to decrease the cost. Also, the machining of the aspherical surface using a cone was carried out experimentally in order to compare the experiment with the simulation. The results showed that the machining experiments of the aspherical surface by using the titled cone were in accordance with the simulation.

  • Machine vision is a technology that helps the computer as if a person recognizes and determines things. In recent years, as advanced technologies such as optical systems, artificial intelligence and big data advanced in conventional machine vision system became more accurate quality inspection and it increases the manufacturing efficiency. In machine vision systems using deep learning, the image quality of the input image is very important. However, most images obtained in the industrial field for quality inspection typically contain noise. This noise is a major factor in the performance of the machine vision system. Therefore, in order to improve the performance of the machine vision system, it is necessary to eliminate the noise of the image. There are lots of research being done to remove noise from the image. In this paper, we propose an autoencoder based machine vision system to eliminate noise in the image. Through experiment proposed model showed better performance compared to the basic autoencoder model in denoising and image reconstruction capability for MNIST and fashion MNIST data sets.
