  • In order to analyze lateral control in the backward maneuver of a tractor -trailer combination , a kinematic vehicle model and a human operator model with time delay were utilized for the operator/vehicle system. The analysis was carried out using the frequency domain approach. The open-loop stability of the vehicle motion was analyzed through the transfer functions. The sensitivity of the stability of the vehicle motion. to a change in the steering angle, was also analyzed. A mathematical model of the closed -loop operator/vehicle system was then formulated. The closed -loop stability of the operator /vehicle system was then analyzed. The effect of the delay time on the system was also analyzed through computer simulation.

  • The existence theorem for the operator valued function space integral has been studied, when the wave function was in $L_1(R)$ class and the potential energy function was represented as a double integra [4]. Johnson and Lapidus established the existence theorem for the operator valued function space integral, when the wave function was in $L_2(R)$ class and the potential energy function was represented as an integral involving a Borel measure [9]. In this paper, we establish the existence theorem for the operator valued function we establish the existence theorem for the operator valued function space integral as an operator from $L_1(R)$ to $L_\infty(R)$ for certain potential energy functions which involve double integrals with some Borel measures.

  • The set of all $m\;{\times}\;n$ matrices with entries in $\mathbb{Z}_+$ is denoted by $\mathbb{M}{m{\times}n}(\mathbb{Z}_+)$. We say that a linear operator T on $\mathbb{M}{m{\times}n}(\mathbb{Z}_+)$ is a (U, V)-operator if there exist invertible matrices $U\;{\in}\; \mathbb{M}{m{\times}n}(\mathbb{Z}_+)$ and $V\;{\in}\;\mathbb{M}{m{\times}n}(\mathbb{Z}_+)$ such that either T(X) = UXV for all X in $\mathbb{M}{m{\times}n}(\mathbb{Z}_+)$, or m = n and T(X) = $UX^{t}V$ for all X in $\mathbb{M}{m{\times}n}(\mathbb{Z}_+)$. In this paper we show that a linear operator T preserves the rank of matrices over the nonnegative integers if and only if T is a (U, V)operator. We also obtain other characterizations of the linear operator that preserves rank of matrices over the nonnegative integers.

  • In this work, we rst introduce a class of analytic functions involving the Dziok-Srivastava linear operator that generalizes the class of uniformly starlike functions with respect to symmetric points. We then establish the closure of certain well-known integral transforms under this analytic function class. This behaviour leads to various radius results for these integral transforms. Some of the interesting consequences of these results are outlined. Further, the lower bounds for the ratio between the functions f(z) in the class under discussion, their partial sums $f_m(z)$ and the corresponding derivative functions f'(z) and $f^{\prime}_m(z)$ are determined by using the coecient estimates.

  • In this paper, a load balancing problem among operators is considered, when one or more machines can be assigned to an operator. The machines are grouped into two types and there are more than one machines in each group. The type of machine in which a job can be processed, is determined. However, an operator can handle both types of machine. The elementary operations of a job are classified into three classes : machine-controlled elements, operator-controlled elements and machine/operator- controlled elements. The objective is to balance the workloads among operators under the constraints of available machine-time and operator-time. A heuristic solution procedure is suggested for allocating jobs to machines and allocating machines to operators. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated with various data set.

  • A necessary and sufficient condition for the product AB of a selfadjoint operator A and a bounded selfadjoint operator B to be normal is given. Various properties of the factors of the unitary polar decompositions of A and B are obtained in the case when the product AB is normal. A block operator model for pairs (A, B) of selfadjoint operators such that B is bounded and AB is normal is established. The case when both operators A and B are bounded is discussed. In addition, the example due to Rehder is reexamined from this point of view.

  • In this paper, a load balancing problem among operators is considered, when one or more identical machines can be assigned to an operator. The operations of a job are separated into three categories : machine-controlled elements, operator-controlled elements and machine/operator-controlled elements. Machining or forming operations are included into the first category. The second category includes inspection and moving to another machine, and the last category includes setup and loading/unloading operation. The objective is to balance the workloads among operators under the constraints of available machine-time and operator-time. A hierarchical heuristic solution procedure is suggested for allocating jobs to each machine and allocating machines to each operator. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated with various data set.

  • For a sufficiently adequate special case of the Dziok-Srivastava linear operator defined by means of the Hadamard product (or convolution) with Srivastava-Wright convolution operator, the authors investigate several mapping properties involving various subclasses of analytic and univalent functions, $G({\lambda},{\alpha})$ and $M({\lambda},{\alpha})$. Furthermore we discuss some inclusion relations for these subclasses to be in the classes of k-uniformly convex and k-starlike functions.

  • The design and philosophy are presented for an intelligent aid for a hyman operator who must diagnose a novel fault in a physical system. A novel fault is defined as one that the operator has not experienced in either real system operation or training. When the operator must diagnose a novel fault, deep reasoning about the behavior of the system components is required. To aid the human operator in this situation, four aiding approaches which provide useful information are proposed. The aiding information is generated by a qualitative, component-level model of the physical system. Both the aid and the human are able to reason causally about the system in a cooperative search for a diagnosis. The aiding features were designed to help the hyman's use of his/her mental model in predicting the normal system behavior, integrating the observations into the actual system behavior, or finding discrepancies between the two. The aid can also have direct access to the operator's hypotheses and run a hypothetical system model. The different aiding approaches will be evaluated by a series of experiments.
