Let A be an m × n matrix over nonnegative integers. The isolation number of A is the maximum number of isolated entries in A. We investigate linear operators that preserve the isolation number of matrices over nonnegative integers. We obtain that T is a linear operator that strongly preserve isolation number k for 1 ≤ k ≤ min{m, n} if and only if T is a (P, Q)-operator, that is, for fixed permutation matrices P and Q, T(A) = P AQ or, m = n and T(A) = P A^tQ for any m × n matrix A, where A^t is the transpose of A.

Suppose X is a subspace of $(\sum_{n=1} ^{\infty} X_n)_{c_0}$, dim $X_n<{\infty}$, which has the metric compact approximation property. It is proved that if Y is a Banach space of cotype q for some $2{\leq}1<{\infty}$ then K(X,Y) is an M-ideal in L(X,Y).

In this paper, a new technique of space deformation for parametric surfaces with so-called extension function (EF) is presented. Firstly, a special extension function is introduced. Then an operator matrix is constructed on the basis of EF. Finally the deformation of a surface is achieved through multiplying the equation of the surface by an operator matrix or adding the multiplication of some vector and the operator matrix to the equation. Interactively modifying control parameters, ideal deformation effect can be got. The implementation shows that the method is simple, intuitive and easy to control. It can be used in such fields as geometric modeling and computer animation.

In this note we prove that if A and $B^*$ are subnormal operators and is a bounded linear operator such that AX - XB is a Hilbert-Schmidt operator, then f(A)X - Xf(B) is also a Hilbert-Schmidt operator and $${\parallel}f(A)X\;-\;Xf(B){\parallel}_2\;\leq\;L{\parallel}AX\;-\;XB{\parallel}_2$$, for f belonging to a certain class of functions. Furthermore, we investigate the similar problem in the case that S, T are hyponormal operators and $X\;{\in}\;\cal{L}(\cal{H})$ is such that SX - XT belongs to a norm ideal (J, ${\parallel}\;{\cdot}\;{\parallel}_J$) and prove that f(S)X - Xf(T) $\in$ J and ${\parallel}f(S)X\;-\;Xf(T){\parallel}_J\;\leq\;C{\parallel}SX\;-\;XT{\parallel}_J$, for f in a certain class of functions.

For any closed subspace X of $\ell_p, \; 1<\kappa<\infty$, K(X) is proximinal in L(X), and if X is a Banach space with an unconditional shrinking basis, then K(X, c$_0$) is proximinal in L(X,$ \ell_\infty$).

X and Y are Banach spaces for which K(X, Y), the space of compact operators from X to Y, is an M-ideal in L(X, Y), the space of bounded linear operators form X to Y. If Z is a closed subspace of Y such that L(X, Z) has property SU in L(X, Y) and d(T, K(X, Z)) = d(T, K(X, Y)) for all $T \in L(X, Z)$, then K(X, Z) is an M-ideal in L(X, Z) if and only if it has property SU is L(X, Z).

let E be a Finsler modules over $C^*$-algebras. A with norm-map $\rho$ and L(E) set of all A-linear bonded operators on E. We show that the canonical homomorphism ${\phi}:L(E){\rightarrow}L(E_I)$ sending each operator T to its restriction $T|E_I$ is injective if and only if I is an essential ideal in the underlying $C^*$-algebra A. We also show that $T{\in}L(E)$ is a bounded below if and only if ${\mid}{\mid}x{\mid}{\mid}={\mid}{\mid}{\rho}{\prime}(x){\mid}{\mid}$ is complete, where ${\rho}{\prime}(x)={\rho}(Tx)$ for all $x{\in}E$. Also, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the equivalence of the norms generated by the norm map.

에지검출은 영상인식의 첫 단계임을 동시에 영상인식의 성능을 좌우하는 아주 중요한 단계이다. 기존의 기울기연산자나 표면접합에 의한 에지검출과 달리 본 논문에서는 에지의 영역정보를 이용한 에지검출 알고리즘을 제시한다. 먼저 에지의 적합한 위치, 에지의 두께 그리고 에지의 길이에 대한 정의를 제시하고, 제시된 에지정의를 기본으로한 12개의 에지검출 윈도우와 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 12개의 윈도우는 모든 형태의 에지를 추출할 수 있는 에지검출윈도우로써 일반적으로 많이 사용되고 있는 기울기 연산자나 0점교차 연산자인 LoG 연산자보다 좋은 에지검출 성능을 보여 주었다.

The purposes of this study were to identify the relative importance attributes, deduct the ideal combination of total utility and establish the marketing strategies for quality improvement of foodservice at funeral halls of medical centers. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires from 102 funeral foodservice employees and 71 chief mourners or the bereaved. According to the results from a conjoint analysis, among foodservice employees at funeral hall, the relatively important attributes were 'taste (52.84%)', 'menu variety (24.419%)' and 'price (22.741%)'; among chief mourners or the bereaved, they were 'taste (50.004%)', 'price (31.388%)' and 'menu variety (18.008%)'. The ideal combination of total utility was different between funeral foodservice employees and chief mourners or the bereaved; it was higher among chief mourners or the bereaved (1.211) compared to funeral foodservice employees (1.169). Thus, there should an endeavor to improve the foodservice quality in funeral halls of medical centers through better taste, low price and similar menu variety.

Conditions are discussed for operating a dissymmetric human master-small (or micro) slave system in best (large position gain-small velocity gain) conditions allowing higher operator dexterity when real effects (joint compliance, link flexion delay and transmission distortion) are taken into account. It is shown that position PD feedback law advantage for ideal case no longer holds, and that more complicated feedback law depending on real effects has to be implemented with adapted transmission line. Drawback is slowdown of master slave interaction, suggesting to use more advanced predictive methods for the master and more intelligent control law for the slave.
