  • In the recent decade, practical of wavelet technique is being utilized in various domain of science. Particularly, engineers are interested to the wavelet solution method in the time series analysis. Fundamentally, seismic responses of structures against time history loading such as an earthquake, illustrates optimum capability of systems. In this paper, a procedure using particularly discrete Haar wavelet basis functions is introduced, to solve dynamic equation of motion. In the proposed approach, a straightforward formulation in a fluent manner is derived from the approximation of the displacements. For this purpose, Haar operational matrix is derived and applied in the dynamic analysis. It's free-scaled matrix converts differential equation of motion to the algebraic equations. It is shown that accuracy of dynamic responses relies on, access of load in the first step, before piecewise analysis added to the technique of equation solver in the last step for large scale of wavelet. To demonstrate the effectiveness of this scheme, improved formulations are extended to the linear and nonlinear structural dynamic analysis. The validity and effectiveness of the developed method is verified with three examples. The results were compared with those from the numerical methods such as Duhamel integration, Runge-Kutta and Wilson-${\theta}$ method.

  • The general situation of system composition and safety management of high-speed railway terminal is investigated and a comprehensive evaluation index system of operational security is established on the basis of railway laws and regulations and previous research results to evaluate the operational security management of the high-speed railway terminal objectively and scientifically. Index weight is determined by introducing interval eigenvalue method (IEM), which aims to reduce the dependence of judgment matrix on consistency test and improve judgment accuracy. Operational security status of a high-speed railway terminal in northwest China is analyzed using the traditional model of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, and a general technique idea and references for the operational security evaluation of the high-speed railway terminal are provided. IEM is introduced to determine the weight of each index, overcomes shortcomings of traditional analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method, and improves the accuracy and scientificity of the comprehensive evaluation. Risk factors, such as terrorist attacks, bad weather, and building fires, are intentionally avoided in the selection of evaluation indicators due to the complexity of risk factors in the operation of high-speed railway passenger stations and limitation of the length of the paper. However, such risk factors should be considered in the follow-up studies.

  • In this paper we present an operational method for solving linear Volterra-Fredholm integral equations (VFIE). The method is con- structed based on three matrices with simple structures which lead to a simple and high accurate algorithm. We also present an error estimation and demonstrate accuracy of the method by numerical examples.

  • In this paper, we present a unified approach for the control of manipulator motions and active forces based on the operational space formulation. The end-effector dynamic model is used in the development of a control system in which the generalized operational space end-effector forces are selected as the command vector. A "generalized position and force specification matrix" is used for the specification of space of motions and forces in which manipulator is to be controlled. Flexibility in the force sensor, end-effector, and environment are discussed.discussed.

  • This paper describes a scaled model development of PMSG wind power system using wind turbine simulator and matrix converter. The wind turbine simulator, which consists of an induction motor with vector drive, calculates the output torque of a specific wind turbine using simulation software and sends the torque signal to the vector drive after scaling down the calculated value. The operational feasibility of interconnected PMSG system with matrix converter was verified by computer simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software. The feasibility of hardware implementation was conformed by experimental works with a laboratory scaled-model of wind power system. The simulation and experimental results confirm that matrix converter can be effectively applied for the PMSG wind power system.

  • In this paper, an efficient computational method is presented for state space analysis of bilinear systems via Legendre wavelets. The differential matrix equation is converted to a generalized Sylvester matrix equation by using Legendre wavelets as a basis. First, an explicit expression for the inverse of the integral operational matrix of the Legendre wavelets is presented. Then using it, we propose a preorder traversal algorithm to solve the generalized Sylvester matrix equation, which greatly reduces the computation time. Finally the efficiency of the proposed method is discussed using numerical examples.

  • A Haar wavelet based numerical method for solving singularly perturbed linear time invariant system is presented in this paper. The reduced pure slow and pure fast subsystems are obtained by decoupling the singularly perturbed system and differential matrix equations are converted into algebraic Sylvester matrix equations via Haar wavelet technique. The operational matrix of integration and its inverse matrix are utilized to reduce the computational time to the solution of algebraic matrix equations. Finally a numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed method.

  • In this paper we obtain the matrix Tau Method representation of a general boundary value problem for Fredholm and Volterra integro-differential equations of order $\nu$. Some theoretical results are given that simplify the application of the Tau Method. The application of the Tau Method to the numerical solution of such problems is shown. Numerical results and details of the algorithm confirm the high accuracy and user-friendly structure of this numerical approach.

  • This paper deals with applications of Haar functions to parameter identification of linear systems. It is first introuduced to a new operational matrix which relates Haar functions and their integrations. The matrix can be used to identify the parameters of unknown linear systems by a least squares estimation. And then, the state equation of given systems is transformed into a computationally convenient algebraic form. This approach provides a more efficient method for the system identification problem.
