  • This paper presents the integrated magnetic circuit designing method for phase shift full bridge(PSFB) converter. The integrated magnetic circuit is implemented on redesigned of EI core. The transformer windings are located on center leg and the two inductors are located on the outer legs with air gap. Based on the equivalent circuit model, the principle of operation of the PSFB converter is explained. The operation and performance of the proposed circuit are verified on a 1.2 kW prototype converter. The analysis and design of the integrated magnetic circuit is verified through the experimental and simulation results.

  • A new family of single-phase Z-source ac-ac converter(SZAC) based on single-phase matrix converter (SPMC) is proposed in this paper. Compared to conventional Z-source ac-ac converter, the proposed SZAC has unique feature: providing a wide range of output ac voltage with buck/boost in-phase (maintaining phase angle) and buck/boost out-of-phase (reversing phase angle) operation. A new commutation strategy is used to eliminate voltage spikes on switches. The operating principle of the proposed SZAC is presented. Analysis and experimental results are also presented.

  • Photovoltaic(PV) and hydrogen are the high quality, clean-burning fuel which could replace oil and natural gas for transportation, heating and power generation. If hydrogen is made via PV-powered water electrolysis, it would be possible, in principle, to provide energy on global scale, with essentially no greenhouse gas emission and very low level of local pollution. In this paper, the operation control of PV-SPE system is briefly discussed and the simulation scheme of the system is also proposed.

A Tightly Regulated Triple Output Asymmetrical Half Bridge Flyback Converter

  • In this paper, a tightly regulated triple output asymmetrical half bridge flyback (ASHF) converter is proposed. In order to regulate all output voltages, pulse frequency modulation (PFM), pulse width modulation (PWM) and phase delay (PD) are used simultaneously. In comparison with the conventional PWM-PD method, the interactions among the control variables are minimized and the operating range is increased. By the utilization of a multi winding transformer, the auxiliary transformer and the blocking capacitor are eliminated and the size and cost of the proposed converter is reduced. The operation principle of the converter is explained and the modes of operation are investigated. Based on the results, the steady state characteristics of the converter are explored. A 24V/10A, 12V/5A, 5V/10A hardware prototype is built and tested to verify the analysis results and the voltage regulation of the triple outputs of the proposed converter.

  • This paper deals with a method for determining an optimal operation strategy of dispersed generating sources. For effective utilization of dispersed generating sources, it is indispensable to consider their thermal merits in addition to electric power. And then the optimal operation of these sources can be determined easily by the principle of equal incremental fuel cost. This paper presents an priority method to decide the optimal location of those sources in power systems about the whole year. The validity of the proposed algorithms are demonstrated using a model system.

  • In this paper we analysis DC bus voltage stress at high line voltage and light load in $S^4$-PFC Isolated AC/DC converter with DC bus voltage feedback using coupling in transformer. In this converter, the principle of operation and the practical problems in the design are considered. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the operation and performance of the $S^4$-PFC converter with DC bus voltage feedback. Experimental sets are performed in the conditions; switching frequency 100 kHz, output of 5 V, 60W, and universal line input voltage.

  • In the fire there are fusion signs and damage by fire, and insulation aging and carbonization of the electric wiring in the ignition spot because of special characteristic of the appliance in the electricity fire. Because of the physical factor applied in the damage of fire, the decision of ignition spot by eye investigation is insufficient. In this paper, the cause of electricity fire is researched. The focus is on the operation state of operated MCCB(Molded Case Circuit Breaker) at the time of electricity fire. Through grasping the operation principle of MCCB and the experiment, the state of MCCB after fire suppression is discriminated. The distinction possibility on the exist of electricity fire is proposed.

  • To maintain the stability during the operation of railway vehicle, the perfect installation of rail, namely the orbit as well as the performance of the railway vehicle itself is required. The orbit of railway needs the intensity and elasticity that stands the shock and vibration due to the weight of the railway vehicle enough. Also, the driving safety during the operation of vehicle should be guaranteed, comfortable feeling of the passenger should be maintained, and the influence of the noise and vibration to the environs should be minimized. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a program that calculates the change of construction cost according to the selection of railway orbit. This study introduces the orbit design automation program according to the selection of railway orbit, and discuss the principle and the way to use of the program.

  • Gas sensors that operate at room temperature have been extensively studied because of sensor stability, lift time, and power consumption. To design effective room-temperature gas sensors, various nanostructures, such as nanoparticles, nanotubes, nanodomes, or nanofibers, are utilized because of their large-surface-to-volume ratio and unique surface properties. In addition, two-dimensional materials, including MoS2, SnS2, WS2, and MoSe, and ultraviolet-activated methods have been studied to develop ideal room-temperature gas sensors. Herein, a brief overview of state-of-the-art research on room-temperature gas sensors and their sensing properties, including nanostructured materials, two-dimensional materials, the ultraviolet-activated method, and ionic-activated gas sensors, is provided.
