This paper presents a new sensorless vector control system for high performance induction motor drives fed by a matrix converter with non-linearity compensation and disturbance observer. The nonlinear voltage distortion that is caused by commutation delay and on-state voltage drop in switching device is corrected by a new matrix converter modeling. The lumped disturbances such as parameter variation and load disturbance of the system are estimated by the radial basis function network (RBFN). An adaptive observer is also employed to bring better responses at the low speed operation. Experimental results are shown to illustrate the performance of the proposed system.
The motion behaviors including hydrodynamic interaction and mechanical coupling effects on multiple-body floating platforms are simulated by using a time domain hull/mooring/riser coupled dynamics analysis program. The objective of this study is to evaluate off-diagonal hydrodynamic interaction effects and mechanical coupling effects on tandem moored FPSO and shuttle taker motions. In the multiple-body floating platforms interaction, hydrodynamic coupling effects with waves and mechanical coupling effects through the connectors should be considered. Thus, in this study, the multiple-body platform motions are calculated by Combined Matrix Method (CMM) as well as Separated Matrix Method (SMM). The advantage of the combined matrix method is that it can include all the 6Nx6N full hydrodynamic and mechanical interaction effects among N bodies. Whereas, due to the larger matrix size, the calculation time of Combined Matrix Method (CMM) is longer than the Separated Matrix Method (SMM). On the other hand, Separated Matrix Method (SMM) cannot include the off-diagonal 6x6 hydrodynamic interaction coefficients although it can fully include mechanical interactions among N bodies. To evaluate hydrodynamic interaction and mechanical coupling effects, tandem moored FPSO and shuttle tanker is simulated by Combined Matrix Method (CMM) and Separated Matrix Method (SMM). The calculation results give a good agreement between Combined Matrix Method (CMM) and Separated Matrix Method (SMM). The results show that the Separated Matrix Method (SMM) is more efficient for tandem moored FPSO and shuttle tanker. In the numerical calculation, the hydrodynamic coefficients are calculated from a 3D diffraction/radiation panel program WAMIT, and wind and current forces are generated by using the respective coefficients given in the OCIMF data sheet.

Matrix multiplication is a fundamental operation widely used in science and engineering. There is an approximate matrix multiplication method as a way to reduce the amount of computation of matrix multiplication. Approximate matrix multiplication determines an appropriate probability distribution for selecting columns and rows of matrices, and performs approximate matrix multiplication by selecting columns and rows of matrices according to this distribution. Probability distributions are generated by considering both matrices A and B participating in matrix multiplication. In this paper, we propose a method to generate a probability distribution that selects columns and rows of matrices to be used for approximate matrix multiplication, targeting only matrix A. Approximate matrix multiplication was performed on 1000×1000 ~ 5000×5000 matrices using existing and proposed methods. The approximate matrix multiplication applying the proposed method compared to the conventional method has been shown to be closer to the original matrix multiplication result, averaging 0.02% to 2.34%.
For the last two decades, many researchers have interests in orthogonal functions by reason of its applicability on linear system analysis. But they only used integral operation matrix of orthogonal functions to solve the state space equations. Thus, this paper present some new result of differential operation of block-pulse functions from a numerical point of view.

In this paper, we introduce a smart city-cyber-security-grid-matrix methodology, as a result of research on overall cyber security of smart cities. The identified cyber security risks that threaten smart cities and smart-city-cyber-security-threat list are presented. The smart-city-cyber-security-requirements necessary to secure the smart city cyber security with the developed smart city-cyber-security-grid-matrix are given in this paper. We show how the developed smart city-cyber-security-grid-matrix methodology can be applied to real world. For it, we interlocked the developed smart city-cyber-security-grid-matrix methodology with the cyber-security-framework of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and developed a framework-based smart city-cyber-security-grid-matrix. Using it, it is easy and comfortable to check the level of cyber security of the target smart ciy at a glace, and the construction and operation of the smart city security system is systematized.

This paper presents an improved sensorless vector control system for high performance induction motor drives fed by a matrix converter with non-linearity compensation. The nonlinear voltage distortion that is caused by commutation delay and on-state voltage drop in switching devices is corrected by a new matrix converter model. A Reduced Order Extended Luenberger Observer (ROELO) is employed to bring better response in the whole speed operation range and a method to select the observer gain is presented. Experimental results are shown to illustrate the performance of the proposed system.
The purpose of the study is to analyze various types of errors appeared in true-false proof problems of matrix and to find out correction method. In order to achieve this purpose, error test was conducted to the subject of 87 second grade students who were chosen from D high schoool. It was shown from this test that the most frequent error type was caused by the lack of understanding about concepts and essential facts of matrix(35.3%), and then caused by the invalid logically reasoning (27.4%), and then caused by the misusing conditions(18.7%). Through three hours of correction lessons with 5 students, the following correction teaching method was proposed. First, it is stressed that the operation rules and properties satisfied in real number system can not be applied in matrix. Second, it is taught that the analytical proof method and the reductio ad absurdum method are useful in the proof problem of matrix. Third, it is explained that the counter example of E=$\begin{pmatrix}1\;0\\0\;1 \end{pmatrix}$, -E should be found in proof of the false statement. Fourth, it is taught that the determinant condition should be checked for the existence of the inverse matrix.

Bit operation of scrambler in the WAVE System become less efficient because parallel processing is impossible in terms of hardware and software. In this paper, we propose algorism to find the starting position of the matrix table. Also, when bit operation algorithm of scrambler and algorithms for matrix table, algorithm used to find starting position of the matrix table were compared with the performance as 8 bit, 16bit, 32 bit processing units. As a result, the number of processing times per second could be done 2917.8 times more in an 8-bit, 5432.1 times in a 16-bit, 10277.8 times in a 32 bit. Therefore, algorithm to find the starting position of the matrix table improves the speed of the scrambler in the WAVE and the receiving speed of a variety of information gathering and precision over the Vehicle to Infra or Vehicle to Vehicle in the Intelligent Transport Systems.

The experimental study investigates two aspects of counterflow sensible heat regenerator operation. First, it examines the regenerator performance in periodic steady state operation with spatially nonuniform inlet temperature in one of the fluid stream. Second, the study examines the transient response of a regenerator to a step change in the inlet temperature of one of the fluid streams. The effect of transient inlet temperatures is analyzed in terms of the response of the outlet fluid temperatures to a step change in temperature of one of the inlet fluid streams. The effect of temperature nonuniformities is analyzed in terms of the change of temperature nonuniformities is analyzed in terms of the change in steady state effectiveness due to a circumferential temperature distribution in one of the inlet fluid streams. an experimental analysis has been conducted using a counterflow, parallel passage, and rotary regenerator made from polyethylene film. Efficiencies follow similar trends with increasing matrix to fluid capacity rate ratio for the balanced and symmetric regenerator with nonuniform inlet temperature.
In order to examine universal design, 1 have developed two analytical methodologies based on 3P(point) task analysis: structured task analysis and task matrix analysis. I also extracted nine universal design items, namely (1) adjustment, (2) redundancy, (3) specification and function transparency, (4) feedback and (5) error tolerance, (6) effective acquisition of information, (7) ease of understanding and judgment, (8) comfortable operation, and (9) continuity of information and operation. Structured task analysis is used to uncover problems in each of the tasks constituting a job for each functionally challenged condition of users, and solutions to the extracted problems are examined in terms of the above-mentioned nine universal design items. Task matrix analysis calls for the production of a table for each task in a job. In each table, nine items form the columns, and the horizontal rows list all disability types. Then, solutions are formulated for each cell formed by the intersecting columns and rows. Using these two analysis methods, 1 have conducted a verification experiment for the universal design of a public bus. The results of the research have enabled me to propose various ,solutions from a system-based perspective, instead of coming up with the superficial and isolated solutions which are normally produced when conventional analytical methods are used.
