Purpose Tongue cancer is 1.8% of all cancer tumors occur in the tongue, it is known that the high incidence enough to account for 75% of oral cancer conducted a PET / CT examination for early diagnosis, metastasis, staging, etc. and. Tongue when PET / CT scan of a cancer patient and a Torso taken to close mouth lesions if the condition was caused due to the overlapping or corresponding artifacts are not clearly observed. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the changes that occur during PET / CT scan with open mouth and its usefulness under. Materials and Methods From June 2015 to March 2016 complained of herein by May 21 had received a diagnosis of tongue cancer underwent PET / CT scan patients were treated with a target (16 males, 5 female). The first was taken to close mouth Torso state, it was taken to add 1 bed open mouth condition. Tumor (T), measuring the Normal Tongue (NT), Lymph Node (LN) standard intake coefficient by setting a region of interest in the (standardized uptake value, SUV) SUVmean, the average value was measured SUVmax, drawn to each region of interest 3 times and Background (Carotid artery) was out of the SUV. In Chapter 3 of the slice to the tumor clearly visible by setting the region of interest to measure the change Tumor size was calculated average value. Gross Image resolution assessment were analyzed statistically through were divided into 1-5 points by the Radiation 7 people in 2, more than five years worked in specialized nuclear medicine compare to proceed with the blind test nonparametric test (wilcoxon signed rank test). (SPSS ver.18) Results $SUV_{mean}$ T's were in close mouth $5.01{\pm}2.70$ with open mouth $5.48{\pm}2.88$ (P<0.05), $SUV_{max}$ were respectively $8.78{\pm}5.55$ and $9.70{\pm}5.99$ (P<0.05). $SUV_{mean}$ in the NT were respectively $0.43{\pm}0.30$ and $0.34{\pm}0.24$ (P=0.20), $SUV_{max}$ was $0.56{\pm}0.34$ and $0.45{\pm}0.25$ (P=0.204). LN $SUV_{mean}$ were respectively $1.62{\pm}1.43$ and $1.69{\pm}1.49$ (P=0.161), $SUV_{mean}$ was $2.09{\pm}1.88$ and $1.99{\pm}1.74$ (P=0.131). Tumor size change is close mouth $4.96{\pm}4.66cm^2$$5.33{\pm}4.64cm^2$ with 7.45% increase was (P<0.05), gross image resolution evaluation is $2.87{\pm}0.73$, $3.77{\pm}0.68$ with open mouth examinations 30.5% increase was (P<0.05). Conclusion Tumor SUV on the changes that had an increase in open mouth during inspection, the normal tongue and lymph node, but there was no significant difference in the change slightly. It is also one open mouth PET / CT scan will provide improved image to all patients with tongue cancer, but it could be confirmed that similar overall through the blind test, or tumor size changes and showing a high resolution image. It can be the perfect alternative method for problems that occur when the close mouth Open mouth PET / CT scan, but is believed to be through the open mouth to observe the boundary of overlapping or tumor of the oral cavity other structures a little more clearly. Tongue cancer patients how to recommend that the shooting further open mouth PET / CT.

The Internal derangement of temporomandibular joint disc was evaluated by using magnetic resonance imaging and arthrogram in 5 patients having reciprocal clicking or locking and in 5 normal subjects. Parasagittal multisections on both closed and open mouth were serially obtained by using a 1.5 Tesla MR system and surface coil with CSMEMP, MPGR. MR images obtained were analized by correlating with images of arthrograms. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Displaced meniscus was clearly delineated as dark structure on MR images other than on arthrograms of closed mouth view of patient having clicking or locking. 2. The deltoid white images of synovial fluid were identified in the glenoid fossa and on the posterior surface of condyle on open mouth view and partly depicted on closed mouth view, of parasagittal sections by MPGR. 3. The greyish image of joint fluid was identified on the posterior surface of condyle on the open mouth view of parasagittal sections by CSMEMP. 4. The structural relationship among condyle, meniscus, and fluid showed the variety of images on each parasagitta1 view.

In this paper, we propose real-time program that measure open-close frequency of mouth and eyes to detect drowsiness of a driver. This program detects a face to the CCD camera image using OpenCV library. Then that extracts each area using CDF for eye detection and Active Contour for mouth detection based on detected face. This system measures each frequency of Open-Close using extracted area data of eyes and mouth. We propose foundation technique how to perform sleepiness decision of users based on measurement data.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the radiographic images of Temporomandibular joint trouble patients. This study included 186 patients with the chief complaints of TMJ pain and dysfunction. Their age ranged from 17 to 68 years. All patients were identified in the department of Dental mary of College of Dentistry, Seoul National University, Apr. 1978 to Jun. 1979. The author has observed the radiographic variations of two positions of condylar head taken by modified transcranial oblique-lateral projection, which are one in centric occlusion and the other in 1 inch(2.54㎝) mouth open. The results were obtained as follows; 1. In centric occlusion, the distances and positional relationship between the summit of condylar head and the deepest point of articular fossa revealed more or less large variations; Normal range is of 37.9%, anterior displacement of 37.3% and posterior displacement of 22.6%. 2. In the horizontal movement of condylar heads when on 1 inch mouth open, it was revealed that normalrange was of 46.5%, anterior displacement of 12.3%, posterior displacement of 41. 1 %. 3. In the positional interrelationship of both condylar heads when on 1 inch mouth open, it was revealed that symmetry(71. 5%) occurred approximately 2.5 times as many as asymmetry. 4. In both centric occlusion and 1 inch mouth open, it was showed that almost all estimated figures were greater in male than in female, and in the horizontal movement of condylar head when on 1 inch open, it was showed that hypermobility was dominant in male and hypomobility in female.

The stress distributions on a human mandible for 18 load cases under two different boundary conditions (mouth open and closed), using the three dimensional finite element modeling were studied. Also, the expected fracture loads for each load cases were calculated by using the Von-Mises yield criterion. The model of a mandible with all teeth was composed of 2402 hexahedron elements and 3698 nodes. CAD techniques were used to analyze the 3-dimensional results. The conclusions of this study were as follows: 1. In the mouth open state, the maximum stress occured at the condyle neck; when the lateral load was exerted, the maximum stress occured at the load side condyle. 2. In the mouth closed state, when the loads were exerted on the mandibular body and chin, the maximum stress occured at the loaded area, and when the loads were exerted on the angle and ramus, the maximum stress occured at the condyle neck. 3. The expected fracture loads in each load case were calculated using the Von-Mises yield criterion, and it was confirmed that the mandible in the mouth open state was more easily fractured than that in the mouth closed state, and the expected fracture loads are lesser in the cases that load direction is parallel at mandibular plane than 45°. 4. The magnitudes of the expected fracture loads increased in the order of angle, ramus, body and chin in case of the mouth closed state, while chin, body, angle and ramus in case of the mouth open state. 5. The Von-Mises stress concentration regions analyzed by F.E.M. corresponded well with the results of clinical studies.
Mandibular implant overdenture is a good treatment option for complete edentulous patients with restoring removable prosthesis. Mandibular implant overdenture with two implants and locator attachments is widely used. It is tissue-supported overdenture that is made with the concept of conventional complete denture fabrication. There are two patients who provided impressions by open mouth technique and closed mouth technique in each case. In both cases, mandibular implant overdentures were restored with functionally and aesthetically satisfying results.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the radiographic images of the condylar head in clinically normal subjects and the TMJ patients using standardized projection technique. 45 subjects who have not clinical evidence of TMJ problems and 96 patients who have the clinical evidence of TMJ problems were evaluated, but the patients who had fracture, trauma and tumor on TMJ area were discluded in this study. For the evaluation of radiographic images, the author has observed the condylar head positions in closed mouth and 2.54㎝ open mouth position taken by the standardized transcranial oblique lateral projection technique. The results were as follows: 1. In closed mouth position, the crest of condylar head took relatively posterior position to the deepest point of the glenoid fossa in 8.9 % of the normals and in 26.6% of TMJ patients. 2. In 2.54㎝ open mouth position, condylar head took relatively posterior position to the articular eminence in 2.2% of TMJ patients and 39.6% of the normals. 3. In open mouth position, the horizontal distance from the deepest point of the glenoid fossa to the condyla head was 13.96㎜ in the normals and 10.68㎜ in TMJ patients. 4. The distance of true movement of condyalr head was 13.49㎜ in the normals and l0.27㎜ in TMJ patients. 5. The deviation of mandible in TMJ patients was slightly greater than that of the normals.
