  • In this paper, we propose a virtual action system based on information agents, We call the system the MultiHammer, MultiHammer can be used for studying and analyzing online actions. MuiltiHammer provides functions of implement-ing a meta online action site and an experiment environ-ment. We have been using MultiHammer as an experiment as an experiment environment for BiddinBot. BiddingBot aims at assisting users to bid simultaneously in multiple online auctions. In order to bid simultaneously in multiple online auctions. In order to analyze the behavior of BiddngBot, we need to pur-chase a lot of items. It is hard for us to prepare a lot of fund to show usability and advantage of BiddingBot. MultiHam-mer enables us to effectively analyze the behavior of BiddingBot. MultiHammer consists of three types of agents for information collecting data storing and auctioning. Agents for information wrappers. To make agent work as wrarp-pers, we heed to realize software modules for each online action site. Implementing these modules reguires a lot of time and patience. To address this problem, we designed a support mechanism for developing the modules. Agents for data storing record the data gathered by agents for informa-tion collecting. Agents for auctioning provide online services using data recorded by agents for data storing. By recording the activities in auction sites. MultiHammer can recreate any situation and trace auction for experimentation, Users can participate in virtual using the same information in real online auctions. • In this paper, an Online Scientific Inquiry Learning System was developed with the aim of improving student's scientific literacy and scientific inquiry ability. It was determined that there should be 4 distinct principles applicable to the design of the Learning system. First, it should enrich learner's motivation. Second, it should provide students with the chance for reflecting on the inquiry process. Third, it should emphasize multi-dimensional forms of interaction. Fourth, students should be able to create new information through it. The server system including the database, equation editor, reporting tool, search engine were all utilized for developing the learning system. In addition, the authors produced 24 web-based projects which were guided inquiry activities in which various inquiry abilities (reasoning, prediction, experiment design) could be developed. An Online Scientific Inquiry Learning System is not the only program which could be utilized in improving scientific inquiry abilities, but at the very least, such a system can serve as the prototype for developing an online learning system.

  • This paper proposes a Web Based Online Outage Cost Assessment and Information System(WOOCAIS) for power system outage cost assessment. The proposed WOOCAIS is a kind of web based survey method for outage cost assessment. While conventional survey methods have done outage cost assessment based on survey paper lists collected by post mail or visiting customers, the proposed WOOCAIS is a web based online survey operation and assessment system. Therefore, it can curtail expenditure for survey and also is more convenient than conventional method. It will be set up for actual outage cost assessment system of KEPCO in South Korea in the near future. The WOOCAIS will be applied in various research and actual planning and operation areas. First of all, the assessed results may be not only applied as one of objective function for generation system and grid expansion but also operational planning problems in power system.

  • A flooding attack, such as DoS or Worm, can be easily created or even downloaded from the Internet, thus, it is one of the main threats to servers on the Internet. This paper presents an online real-time network response system, which can determine whether a LAN is suffering from a flooding attack within a very short time unit. The detection engine of the system is based on the incremental mining of fuzzy association rules from network packets, in which membership functions of fuzzy variables are optimized by a genetic algorithm. The incremental mining approach makes the system suitable for detecting, and thus, responding to an attack in real-time. This system is evaluated by 47 flooding attacks, only one of which is missed, with no false positives occurring. The proposed online system belongs to anomaly detection, not misuse detection. Moreover, a mechanism for dynamic firewall updating is embedded in the proposed system for the function of eliminating suspicious connections when necessary.

  • The number of participants in an online dispute resolution(ODR) system is crucial to its survival. Securing participation is nonetheless difficult. Clearly, it is important to offer a system that is fair, transparent and offers an efficient service at low cost. These factors are fundamental to ensure trust and to build a returning customer base to the system, but are not what attracts a party to submit a dispute for settlement. This paper describes and discusses four main categories of legal measures found in the online dispute resolution services offered by SquareTrade and WIPO. In spite of shortcomings in the offered, the legal measures have contributed to attract large numbers of participants. Large participation secures the long-term economic viability of an online dispute resolution system. The four categories of legal measures described and discussed in this paper need to be part of the specifications and the design and development of future ODR system.

  • Purpose Consumption behaviors of consumers have changed with the widespread use of the Internet and smart phones, and accordingly online marketing activities are becoming ever more prevalent. Yet, the domestic food-service industry has yet to offer an Omni-Channel order system that encompasses a online, offline, and mobile interface. Also, a multilingual menu ordering service for foreign tourists is not yet available. Therefore, if an order service system accessible online and offline which could provide multi-language services were implemented, the satisfaction of the service provider and domestic and foreign customers would be maximized. Design/methodology/approach By designing an electronic menu based on open an OS and providing electronic menus in offline stores, we have completed the design of a linked order system which would be available everywhere (online, offline, and mobile). The CMS was developed to integrate these three mediums and the entire operator was designed to receive basic information and statistical information about the merchants, or store operators. Also, a multilingual term dictionary containing menu information for foreign tourists was made into a database so that foreign tourists who are having difficulty in communication can use it more easily. Findings We have made it possible for customers to use the order service without distinction between online, offline, and mobile platforms, and have proved that it is a more efficient and convenient service for customers as well as operators. Nevertheless, as an initial model, the implemented system has limitations on the execution of the payment support method in the electronic menu board and in the management division of the CMS. In case of commercialization, it is necessary to make an alliance of efforts to attract initial franchises. Through further supplementation, we expect the online and offline connection-types martservice system will maximize the satisfaction of both operators and customers alike.
