  • The circuit simulation analysis and diagnosis methods are used to instruments in detail when they give apparently abnormal readings. In this paper, a new simulator through an analysis of the important circuits modeling under severe accident conditions has been designed, the realization for a body work instead of the two sorts of the Labview & Pspice as an one order command in the Labview program. The program can be shown the output graph form the circuit modeling as an order commend. The procedure for the simulator design was divided into two design steps, of which the first step was the diagnosis methods, the second step was the circuit simulator for the signal processing tool. It has three main functions which are a signal processing tool, an accident management tool, and an additional guide from the initial screen.

  • This paper develops a convenient approach for deterministic and probabilistic evaluations of tunnel face stability using support vector machine classifiers. The proposed method is comprised of two major steps, i.e., construction of the training dataset and determination of instance-based classifiers. In step one, the orthogonal design is utilized to produce representative samples after the ranges and levels of the factors that influence tunnel face stability are specified. The training dataset is then labeled by two-dimensional strength reduction analyses embedded within OptumG2. For any unknown instance, the second step applies the training dataset for classification, which is achieved by an ad hoc Python program. The classification of unknown samples starts with selection of instance-based training samples using the k-nearest neighbors algorithm, followed by the construction of an instance-based SVM-KNN classifier. It eventually provides labels of the unknown instances, avoiding calculate its corresponding performance function. Probabilistic evaluations are performed by Monte Carlo simulation based on the SVM-KNN classifier. The ratio of the number of unstable samples to the total number of simulated samples is computed and is taken as the failure probability, which is validated and compared with the response surface method.

  • This research is to observe and analyze the student interactions when inquiry problems were generated along with the students by using asynchronous discussion methods with the class bulletin board. For this research, 10 students from a single class of 6th grade were selected. The subject students were divided into 2 groups by cognitive levels. After the students were submitted the 4 problem situations for 1 week each, the discussion process was analyzed. The research results are as follows. First, the analysis of the step by step interactive discussion showed that several students answered for the question from a single student while discussing first for the question and answer in a form of a question with many multiple answers without any connections with the previously asked questions. At the end of the discussion, one to two students answered to a question by taking turns and the type of discussion changed to one question - one answer type by answering to the person who spoke prior to the next. Second, the discussion took place with the students in the transitional stage speaking in time in order, to provide comments to the bottom of the linear form and students in the formal operational stage students speaking in temporal order, regardless of the number of comments in the direction of the radiation(mind map) forms. The individual comment speaking rates were similar in the two groups so the students were able to speak indiscriminately.

  • In general, the Korean morpheme analysis procedure is divided into two steps. In the first step as an ambiguity generation step, an Eojeol is analyzed into many morpheme sequences as candidates. In the second step, one appropriate candidate is chosen by using contextual information. Hidden Markov Model(HMM) is typically applied in the second step. This paper proposes Sub-word Conditional Probability(SCP) model as an alternate algorithm. SCP uses sub-word information of adjacent eojeol first. If it failed, then SCP use morpheme information restrictively. In the accuracy and speed comparative test, HMM's accuracy is 96.49% and SCP's accuracy is just 0.07% lower. But SCP reduced processing time 53%.

  • Modifying effects of the rectangular forward step for suppressing the unsteady pressure fluctuation during interaction between the upstream vortical flow and the edge are studied numerically. The vertical flow is modeled by a point vortex, and the unsteady pressure coefficient is obtained from the velocity and the potential fields. To investigate the effects of the edge shape the rectangular forward step is chamfered wish various angles. Calculation shows that the pressure peaks become decreased by increasing the vortex height as well as the chamfering angle. The pressure amplitudes are very sensitive to the change of the initial vertex height and its strength. From this study we can find out that the chamfered edge has two effects; the one is that it suppresses the pressure amplitude generated from the edge, and the other is that it decreases the time variation of unsteady pressure fluctuation. These modifying concepts can be applied to attenuate the self-sustained oscillation mechanism at the open cavity flow.

  • Public institutions have a responsibility to ensure the safety of their employees and the public. One way to do this is to implement a systematic safety inspection system based on risk assessments and continuous improvements. This study developed a systematic safety inspection system for public institutions that are ordered construction projects. The proposed system in this study consists of a three-step process: (1) developing safety grade evaluation tables, (2) preparing and conducting safety inspections, and (3) evaluating and improving safety management grades. The first step is to develop safety grade evaluation tables by analysis and diagnosis of the construction site's work type, disaster statistics, and related laws. The second step is to conduct safety inspections using the developed evaluation tables. The third step is to determine the safety management grade based on the results of the safety inspection, and to improve risk factors found during the safety evaluation. The proposed system was implemented in highway construction projects carried out by public institutions. The results showed that the proposed system has two major effects: (1) reducing accident-related deaths and injuries, (2) improving safety management levels by continuous evaluation and improvement. The proposed system can be utilized in construction projects ordered by public institutions to improve the level of occupational safety and health.

  • Viscoelastic damping materials are widely used to reduce noise and vibration because of its low cost and easy implementation, for examples, on the body structure of passenger cars, air planes, electric appliances and ships. To design the damped structures, the material property such as elastic modulus and loss factor is essential information. The four-parameter fractional derivative model well describes the dynamic characteristics of the viscoelastic damping materials with respect to both frequency and temperature. However, the identification procedure of the four-parameter is very time-consuming one. In this study a new identification procedure of the four-parameters is proposed by using an FE model and a gradient-based numerical search algorithm. The identification procedure goes two sequential steps to make measured frequency response functions(FRF) coincident with simulated FRFs: the first one is a peak alignment step and the second one is an amplitude adjustment step. A numerical example shows that the proposed method is useful in identifying the viscoelastic material parameters of fractional derivative model.

  • Numerical analysis has been conducted to simulate pedestrian flow in the model of two-storied subway station. Because almost all the subway stations are two or three storied structure, simulations are conducted for the passengers those who get off the train and pass the wicket. Passenger flow analysis is very important factor to design the station and also to manage the operation of subway system. In the subway station, pedestrians move to the horizontal directions as well as vertical ones. Therefore, to consider the movement of pedestrians is necessary for the guarantee of safety and conveniency. As the up and down floors are connected with step, escalator and elevator, the entire movements in the multi-storied station should be simulated as like a 3-dimensional flow. Numerical schemes for the directional sweeping are developed to prevent the dependency on physical structure of station and to determine primary direction and secondary one. By using the developed program, we compared the simulation results of the effects of the location and size of exit and elapsed time.

  • In this paper, we introduce a multiuser (MU) scheduling method for multiuser amplify-and-forward relay systems, which selects both the transmission mode, i.e., either one- or two-hop transmission, and the desired user via two steps. A closed-form expression for the average achievable rate of the proposed scheduling is derived under two transmission modes with MU scheduling, and its asymptotic solution is also analyzed in the limit of large number of mobile stations. Based on the analysis, we perform our two-step scheduling algorithm: the transmission mode selection followed by the user selection that needs partial feedback for instantaneous signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) to the base station. We also analyze the average SNR condition such that the MU diversity gain is fully exploited. In addition, it is examined how to further reduce a quantity of feedback under certain conditions. The proposed algorithm shows the comparable achievable rate to that of the optimal one using full feedback information, while its required feedback overhead is reduced below half of the optimal one.

  • A typical type-1 positioning servomechanism is theoretically analyzed as a multirate sampled-data system which contains two or more signals sampled at different rates by the Z-transform method. And also it is analyzed as a continuous system by using the Younsei 101 Electronic Analog Computer. Comparing the solution of the multirate sampled data system with that of the continuous system to a step input, it is concluded that the response time of the output of the multirate sampled-data system is reduced by a multirate controller, the ripple between samples is lessened and all the transients are diminished within one period.
