  • The pharmaceutical industry is experiencing a productivity crisis with a low probability of success despite a long period of time and enormous cost. As a strategy to solve the productivity crisis, the use cases of Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Bigdata are increasing worldwide and tangible results are coming out. However, domestic pharmaceutical companies are taking a wait-and-see attitude to adopt AI platform for drug research. This study proposed a research model that combines the Value-based Adoption Model and the Innovation Resistance Model to empirically study the effect of value perception and resistance factors on adopting AI Platform. As a result of empirical verification, usefulness, knowledge richness, complexity, and algorithmic opacity were found to have a significant effect on perceived values. And, usefulness, knowledge richness, algorithmic opacity, trialability, technology support infrastructure were found to have a significant effect on the innovation resistance.

  • In the resistivity method, the potential difference between two grounded electrodes is measured and this can be positive or negative. The apparent resistivity and the potential difference have the same polarity. Since the electric field is the gradient of the potential, the polarity of the potential difference depends on the direction of the electric field. If the direction of the vector connecting two grounded electrodes is the same to that of the electric field, the measured potential difference and the apparent resistivity become positive. If the opposite is the case, they become negative. In general, the primary electric field and the vector connecting two potential electrodes have the same direction in a surface resistivity method. In this case, the measured potential difference is always positive because the primary electric field is greater than the secondary field. Therefore, the apparent resistivity is always positive if noise is free and topography is flat. The secondary field component, however, can be greater than the primary field component along the vector connecting two potential electrodes in the cross-hole resistivity method. Furthermore, if the secondary electric field and the vector connecting two potential electrodes have an opposite direction, the apparent resistivity become negative. Consequently, the apparent resistivity may be negative in the region where the primary electric field component along the vector connecting two potential electrodes is very small.

  • This paper reviews current status of weed control practices in herbicide-resistant crops to examine weed management strategies in cope with cropping herbicide-resistant crops in the near future. Herbicide-resistant crops were rapidly adopted weed management technologies due to broad-spectrum weed control without crop injury. Transgenic glyphosate-resistant cultivars in soybean, corn, canola, and cotton were adopted to manage weeds at lower cost in a simplified weed management system. Dual stack crops with glyphosate and glufosinate resistance were developed to control glyphosate resistant weeds in corn, soybean and cotton. New multiple herbicide-resistant crops with resistance to glyphosate and glufosinate, acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitors, synthetic auxin herbicides, 4-hydroxyphenyl pyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) inhibitors or acetyl Coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase) inhibitors will expended the utility of existing herbicide technologies to manage the evolution of resistant weeds. However, herbicide resistant crops alone cannot solve weed problems and thus studies on diverse weed managements using an array of alternating herbicides of mode of action, mechanical, and cultural practices are needed for integrated weed management systems in the future.

  • Paraquat-resistant biotype of Conyza canadensis (L.) Cronq. was determined by chlorophyll loss and random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis and the resistant mechanism was investigated with respect to absorption, translocation, and binding constant. RAPD analysis for paraquat resistant (R) and susceptible (S) biotypes found in a pear orchard revealed that the biotypes possessed remote genetic relationship. Chlorophyll loss, as an indication of paraquat toxicity, of S biotype was 7.8-fold greater than that of R biotype. There were no differences in contents of epicuticular wax and cuticle and amounts of [14C]paraquat penetrating the cuticle between the two biotypes. Little translocation of the herbicide out of the treated leaf was observed in either biotype. Binding constants of paraquat to the cell wall and thylakoid membrane were 7.4-fold and 16.9-fold, respectively, higher in R biotype than in S biotype. The results suggest that the resistance mechanism of C. canadensis biotype is due partly to high binding affinity of paraquat to the cell wall and thylakoid membrane.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the smartwork use resistance and Non-Class-Related Behavior of attendees in university smartwork class with the perspective of Motivation-Threat-Ability. To do this, this study built a research model and examined how smartwork switching cost, threat and self-efficacy affect Non-Class-Related Behavior through smartwork use resistance. We also examined the relationship between self-efficacy and Non-Class-Related Behavior. The survey method was used for this paper, and data from a total of 80 university students were used for the analysis. And structural equation model was used to analyze the data. The results of this empirical study is summarized as followings. First, switching cost and threat have direct effects on the use resistance of smartwork services. Second, smartwork use resistance has a negative effect on Non-Class-Related Behavior but self-efficacy has a positive effect on it. Further, it will provide meaning suggestion point of the importance of use resistance motivations in establishing the use policy of smartwork services.

  • Adquate friction resistance is needed to prevent pavement slipperiness and to allow vehicles to stop in a reasonable distance. Performance of the aggregates is reduced over time by wear and polishing as a consequence of vehicular traffic. In this research, the objective was to develop a laboratory method to test Indiana gravel aggregates to predict field performance, and determine causes for the range of values amang gravel aggregates. The assessment of gravel sources was primarily on the basis of individual rock types and those proportions comprising the gravel. Polish and friction values were determined in the laboratory with the British Wheel and Pendulum. The gravels of this study were composed primarily of carbonate aggregates that showed considerable variability in polishing thresholds. Igneous and metamorphic constituents polished to a lesser degree and are expected to improve overall aggregate performance. Estimates of the IFV (Initial Friction Value) and PV (Polished Value) for crushed gravel samples can be made based on the percentage of rock types present in the sample. A weighted average is used to make this calculation.

  • [Ni/Fe/Cu] and [Fe/Ni/Fe/Cu] multilayers were prepared with three gun rf-magnetron sputtering, and dependence of magnetoresistance on the Ni IFe thickness ratio was investigated. Vaccum annealing was tried to invetigated the effect of annealing. Oscillation of magnetoresistance on the Cu spacer thickness was dbserved in these two kinds of multilayers. When the thickness of Fe inserted into the Ni/Cu interface was about $3\;\AA$. the maximum value of magnetoresistance(13 %) could be observed. In a sample of $1~2\;\AA$ Fe thickness, saturation field decreased significantly, while magnetoresistace decreased slightly in comparison with the sample of $3\;\AA$ Fe. In ${[Cu(23\;\AA)/Fe(1\;\AA)/Ni(18\;\AA)/Fe(1\;\AA)]}_{20}/Fe(80\;\AA)/Si$, 6 % magnetoresistance with 100 Oe saturation field could be obtained. No appreciable change in magnetoresistance and saturation field could be observed by low temperature annealing. Formation of Ni-Fe alloy was not confinred.

  • This study investigates to investigate the factors that influence user resistance of mobile payment services. We suggested individual and technical characteristics of mobile payment services as factors influencing perceived risk and user resistance. In addition, we suggested negative security recognition as moderating variable. To test the proposed hypotheses, we collected 349 survey responses from the users of mobile payment services and conducted structural equation modeling with SmartPLS2.0. The results show that, first, negative social influence, risk aversion and distrust in existing services had an effect on the perceived risk. Second, the pace of change and vulnerability had an effect on the perceived risk. Third, perceived risk affected the user resistance while negative security recognition is related to the relationship between perceived risk and user resistance.

  • TiN thin films were deposited on a $SiO_2(2000{\AA})/Si$ substrate by radio-frequency(rf) magnetron sputtering. TiN films were prepared under varying $N_2$ concentration in $N_2/Ar$ gas mix, rf power and gas pressure, and investigated in terms of deposition rate, resistivity and surface morphology. As $N_2$ concentration increased, the deposition rate and the surface roughness of the films decreased and the resistivity increased. With increasing rf power, the deposition rate increased but the resistivity was decreased. As gas pressure increased, little change in deposition rate was obtained but the resistivity rapidly increased. TiN film with resistivity of $2.46{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}cm$ at 1 mTorr was formed. It was observed that there existed a correlation between the deposition rate and resistivity. In particular, the gas pressure has a strong influence on the resistivity of thin films.

  • In this paper, when a H-polarized plane wave is incident on the grating consisting of uniform resistive strips, electromagnetic scattering is analyzed using the moment of methods (MoM). The current density of each resistive strip on a grounded dielectric plane is fixed by zero at both edges. To satisfy the condition at both ends of each resistive strip, the induced surface current density is expanded in a series of cosine and sine functions. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of floquet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown current coefficients. According to the variation of the involving parameters such as strip width and spacing and angle of the incident field, numerical simulations are performed by applying the Fourier-Galerkin moment method. The numerical results of the normalized reflected power for resistive strips case for zero and several resistivities are obtained.
