37K DWT 석유화학제품 운반선의 선미관 베어링 발열 사고 및 축계정렬에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Stern Bearing Damage and Shaft Alignment for 37K DWT Product/Chemical Tanker)

  • Together with the emerging of the Eco-ship, the application of large-diameter and high-efficiency propeller required more careful attention than before in the design of the shafting system. After the adoption of Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EAL) to the stern tube lubrication oil, a number of aft stern tube bearing accidents have been reported, and a variety of institutions have actively conducted research on the cause relationship. This study attempted to find the cause of the accident by measuring the alignment of the shafting system of a medium-sized product/chemical tanker with aft stern tube bearing damage and analyzing the reaction force of each bearing. In addition, a reasonable solution to the correction of the shaft alignment was suggested and the feasibility was reviewed. Through various measured data and analysis, the actual installation of shafting system was slightly different from the design drawing condition, but it was found that each bearing load distribution was within the allowable range. Therefore, it was confirmed that the cause of this accident was due to the dissatisfaction the misalignment slope of aft stern tube bearing rather than the effect of the bearing overload. As a solution to this cause, countermeasures such as double slope were suggested in the aft stern tube bearing, and the characteristics of EAL also seem to have an indirect effect.

생체 적합성이 확보를 위한 오존화 올리브오일 제조 장치 구현 (Implementing of Ozonated Olive Oil Manufacturing Device to Ensure Biocompatibility)

  • 오존화 올리브 오일은 피부 질환에 우수한 치료 효과가 있어, 오존을 활용한 화장품 제조 기술의 개발이 시도되고 있다. 오존은 인체에 유해한 요소가 있어 오존화 올리브 오일을 화장품 원료용으로 제조하기 위해서는 별도의 시설이 준비되어야 한다. 본 연구에서 개발된 제조 장치는 생산에 투입된 작업자의 안전이 확보된 상태에서 화장품 제조에 최적화된 공정으로 설계 되었다. 구현된 장치로부터 제조된 오존화 올리브유의 검증을 위해 동물실험을 대상을 한 독성시험을 진행하였고 Rabbit에 대한 오존화 오일(고농도)을 Rabbit의 등 부위에 24시간 동안 도포한 후 사망률, 일반증상 및 피부 자극평가를 수행하였다. 실험 결과 일정 시간 후 시험 물질 처치부위를 평가한 결과, 모든 동물에서 피부자극이 관찰되지 않음이 확인되어 오존화 오일의 생산공정의 안전성과 생성물의 안전성을 확인 할 수 있었다.

X선조사(線照射)에 의한 절연유(絶緣油)의 도전특성(導電特性)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on Conductivity Characteristics of X-ray Irradiated Insulating Oil)

  • The insulating oil used for X-ray tube housing were degraded by X-ray irrdiation, high temperature and high anode voltage for normal operation. This study was measured the conduction current-X-ray dose, heating degradation, time, temperature and electric field characteristics and the dependense of electrode materials and gap length in the X-ray irradiatied insulating oil under of D.C voltage. The obtained results can be summarized as following. 1. The conduction current of X-ray irradiated insulating oil is more about $2.5{\sim}3$ times as large as than that of non x-ray irradiated, and is become saturation phenomena after some degree. 2. The conduction current of many times heating x-ray irradiated insulating oil is more than that of a few times heating. 3. The higher temperature x-ray irradiated insulating oil is increased, the more conduction current, and that is increased about ten times as large as when it's temperatures is increased to $80^{\circ}C\;at\;30^{\circ}C$, twenty five times at $100^{\circ}C$. 4. The dependence of electrode materials is appeared at the low electric field, and the small gap length with Fe > Cu > Al. 5. The low electric field than 3000 v/cm is appeared Ohm's law region, and the high is become saturation region at the I-E characteristics. 6. The larger gap length is become, the more conduction current is increased at the same electric field.

원형관 내에서 유동가시화 기법을 이용한 선회유동에 관한 연구고찰 (A Review on Swirling Flow by Using Flow Visualization Techniques in the Circular Tubes)

  • Swirling flows are found in very wide range of applications, for examples, cyclone separators, spraying machines, heat exchangers and jet pumps, ect. Relatively, little work has been done on the swirl flow using flow visualization techniques. This study deals with many visualization techniques to study on swirling flow. These techniques are related to oil films methods, smoke, dye liquids, liquid crystal, stroboscope light, smoke wire, white light, naphthalene sublimation, LDV(lase doppler Velocimetry) and PIV(particle image velocimetry). The present work has handled single, annular, carved tube, swirl expansion and swirl wake using several visualization methods in the vertical and horizontal circular tube.

  • The contact angle of a meniscus and a droplet can be controlled by using electrowetting phenomena. We investigated the dynamic aspect of electrowetting for an oil-electrolyte interface formed inside a closed glass tube. A step input voltage is applied and the subsequent motion of the interface is recorded by a high-speed camera. A kind of capillary instability is observed near the three-phase contact line, which could degrade the reliability of device utilizing electrowetting such as electrowetting liquid lens. The dynamics of interface motion for different input voltages and the fluid viscosities are analyzed and discussed based on the experimental results.

  • The purpose of this study is to visualize the characteristics of ER fluids as preceding step of developing 3 port ER valves. ER fluids are made with silicone oil and 3 weight fraction starch having hydrous particles. The flow visualization of ER fluids flow is obtained by CCD camera with changing the strength of electric field to ER fluids flow. As the strength of the electric field increases, more clusters in flow are made and these clusters are though to be the reasons of the load flow rate being increased and the outlet flow rate being decreased. The ER Valves and load and outlet flow rate check method are considered to be applied to the fluid power control system.

탄소나노튜브 면상발열체의 선박 기자재 적용 연구 (Application of a CNT Surface Heating Element to the Ship Equipment)

  • This study investigates the validity of applying new carbon nanotube (CNT, Carbon Nano Tube) surface heaters, which are applied in combination with various products, to the vessel's materials, and proposes the commercializable products accordingly. In order to actually apply a CNT surface heating system technology to the ship's equipment for the first time in Korea, we carried out the interview of experts in the technology field and the due diligence of the shipyard, and presented the technology road map for the selected three items. Finally, for "Heating System of Ship Fuel Tank" with the highest commercialization potential, we proposed a conceptual diagram to enable the final development of the product through the product analysis.

수평관내 $CO_2$의 초임계 영역내 열전달에 관한 연구 (The heat transfer characteristics of supercritical $CO_2$ in a horizontal tube)

  • The cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$(R-744) in a horizontal tube was investigated experimentally. The experiments were conducted without oil in a closed refrigerant loop which was driven by a magnetic gear pump. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a variable-speed pump. a mass flow meter. a pre-heater and gas cooler(test section). The test section consists of a smooth, horizontal stainless steel tube of 7.75 mm inner diameter. The experiments were conducted at mass flux of 200 to $400\;kg/m^{2}s$ and the inlet cooling pressure of 7.5 MPa to 10.0 MPa. The variation of heat transfer coefficient tends to decrease as cooling pressure of $CO_2$ increases. The heat transfer coefficient with respect to mass flux increases as mass flux increases. The pressure drop of $CO_2$ in the gas cooler shows a relatively good agreement with that predicted by Blasius's correlation. The local heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ agrees well with the correlation by Bringer-Smith.

선박 연료탱크 내 가온기의 열유동 및 안전성 평가에 관한 해석 (Study of Heat Transfer and Safety Evaluation for Heating Coils in the Fuel Tank of a Ship)

  • The fuel tank of a ship is filled with heavy fuel oil (HFO) that has a very high viscosity. In order to inject the HFO into the engine easily, heating coils are usually installed inside the fuel tank to heat the HFO and lower its viscosity. Currently, several different types of heating coils are used, e.g., fin-type, bare-type, drum-type, and shell-and-tube-type. It is well known that the shell-and-tube-type heating coil has good performance and high efficiency. In this study, experiments were conducted to determine the heat transfer efficiencies of three different shell-and-tube-type heating coils. Heat transfer efficiency was evaluated by using FLUENT 6.3.26 software. Also, structural safety was assessed by using ANSYS.simulation software.

수평관내의 $CO_2$의 증발 열전달에 관한 연구 (Study on the Evaporation Heat transfer of $CO_2$ in a Horizontal tube)

  • The experiments were conducted without oil in a closed refrigerant loop which was driven by a magnetic gear pump. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a variable-speed pump, a mass flow meter, a pre-heater and evaporator(test section). The test section was made of a horizontal stainless steel tube with the inner diameter of 4.57 mm, and length of 4 m. The experiments were conducted at mass flux of 200 to 700 kg/$m^2s$, saturation temperature of 0$^{circ}C$ to 20$^{circ}C$, and heat flux of 10 to 30 kW/$m^2$. The test results showed the evaporation heat transfer of $CO_2$ has great effect on more nucleate boiling than convective boiling. The evaporation heat transfer coefficients of $CO_2$ are highly dependent on the vapor quality, heat flux and saturation temperature. In comparison with test results and existing correlations, correlations failed to predict the evaporation heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$, therefore, it is necessary to develop reliable and accurate predictions determining the evaporation heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a horizontal tube.
