After developing literacy education programs using coaching techniques, applying them to literacy learners, in order to see how they have an impact on improving learning achievement, we selected 13 senior literacy learners in U city and chose qualitative research method based on in-depth interviews, observation journals, and learning materials. Literature education programs using coaching techniques are a process-oriented model consisting of four stages of mind-opening, introducing positivity, strengthening learning competence and assistance, confidence and persistence. You can find the results as following. Firstly, communication between teachers and learners was expanded in the first stage, and secondly, self-directed learning ability was strengthened in the second stage by forming a positive mind. Thirdly, the results of utilizing the three-stage balanced literacy teaching method and interaction teaching method resulted in confidence in reading and writing, leading to an increase in self-efficacy. Fourthly, the fourth stage showed the results of improving learning achievement, which overcame the fear of learning with active praise and continuous encouragement and implied hope for higher courses. As a result of the above-mentioned research, I think literacy education programs using coaching techniques can be useful as an educational method for learners in the field of literacy education.
This study is based on the importance of observation or exploration in contemporary scientific inquiry and the need to expand the learning materials of science inquiry. It aims to analyze students' characteristics of exploration in abduction by developing and applying an educational program using art materials. For this study, a program named "Scientist going to the museum" utilizing artistic materials such as Oriental and Western paintings, mythology, orchestral suite, and traditional houses, was developed and five middle school students participated. Students who found and explored interesting phenomena in the work were divided into three main groups depending on the characteristics of the exploration activity. Some students observed and described elements that could be connected to scientific concepts, while others mainly explored everyday elements that were relatively unrelated to such concepts. Moreover, another type of students explored the works based on their subjective evaluations. This study shows that learning materials that cannot be visually explored are not suitable for abductive activities that students' prior knowledge has a significant impact on their exploration, and that educational materials for earth science inquiry could be expanded. This study also provides an example of learning materials and methods, and that abduction may be utilized for learning astronomy.
Two golden beads (Buyeo 5336) housed at the Buyeo National Museum were discovered in 1993 near the site of an ancient workshop in Neungsan-ri in Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Province. These rare examples from the Baekje Kingdom of an application of granulation have maintained their original form intact, and thus serve as important materials for the investigation of production techniques applied. This study analyzed the composition of the golden beads using a portable X-ray fluorescence analyzer, a stereo microscope, and a scanning electron microscope with an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer. The manufacturing technique was examined through the observation of the micro-shape and the surface condition and by a composition analysis of the joint part. In both beads, a hole was pierced in a hollow body and the bead was decorated with golden wires around the hole and gold granules in other parts. In some areas, golden granules had been attached to the gold plate and golden wires were then placed over the granules. The purity of both the wires and the granules was analyzed as 23.6 - 23.7K. A high copper content was detected in some of the parts where the granules were attached. The findings of a previous reproduction experiment and study of production methods suggest that the beads were made using the copper diffusion technique.
Background: Due to the emergence of new diseases such as COVID-19, an increasing number of people are struggling with stress and depression. Interest is growing in forest-based recreation for physical and mental relief. Objectives: A prediction model equation using meteorological factors and data was developed to predict the quantities of medicinal substances generated in forests (monoterpenes) in real-time. Methods: The concentration of phytoncide and meteorological factors in the forests near Chuncheon in South Korea were measured for nearly two years. Meteorological factors affecting the observation data were acquired through a multiple regression analysis. A model equation was developed by applying a linear regression equation with the main factors. Results: The linear regression analysis revealed a high explanatory power for the coefficients of determination of temperature and humidity in the coniferous forest (R2=0.7028 and R2=0.5859). With a temperature increase of 1℃, the phytoncide concentration increased by 31.7 ng/Sm3. A humidity increase of 1% led to an increase in the coniferous forest by 21.9 ng/Sm3. In the deciduous forest, the coefficients of determination of temperature and humidity had approximately 60% explanatory power (R2=0.6611 and R2=0.5893). A temperature increase of 1℃ led to an increase of approximately 9.6 ng/Sm3, and 1% humidity resulted in a change of approximately 6.9 ng/Sm3. A prediction model equation was suggested based on such meteorological factors and related equations that showed a 30% error with statistical verification. Conclusions: Follow-up research is required to reduce the prediction error. In addition, phytoncide data for each region can be acquired by applying actual regional phytoncide data and the prediction technique proposed in this study.
A comprehensive safety management system will be required in accordance with the implementation of the Major Disaster Punishment Act for close-up safety management of construction sites. Safety management level evaluation management requires a comprehensive relationship between safety management under the Construction Technology Promotion Act and health and health management system under the Industrial Safety and Health Act. Purpose: Safety under the Serious Accidents Punishment Act. The ultimate goal is to study the comprehensive analysis and relationship of health management and to improve the safety evaluation level of health and health management. Methods: The feasibility of the questionnaire was confirmed through the second Delphi analysis of construction site experts and safety managers, and the regression coefficient and path analysis of potential variants in safety management, safety management, health management and safety inspection were confirmed. Result and Conclusion: In the structural model, the regression coefficient (89%) from safety management, health system, and safety management to safety inspection execution and lambda values of appropriate observation variables were confirmed. In the path analysis, the total effect (.809) was confirmed by mediating health hygiene in the relationship between health plan establishment adequacy and post-inspection management, and the path coefficient (.82) of temporary structure safety was confirmed.
Recently, many Earth observation optical satellites have been developed, as their demands were increasing. Therefore, a rapid preprocessing of satellites became one of the most important problem for an active utilization of satellite images. Satellite image matching is a technique in which two images are transformed and represented in one specific coordinate system. This technique is used for aligning different bands or correcting of relative positions error between two satellite images. In this paper, we propose an automatic image matching method among satellite images with different ground sampling distances (GSDs). Our method is based on improved feature matching and robust estimation of transformation between satellite images. The proposed method consists of five processes: calculation of overlapping area, improved feature detection, feature matching, robust estimation of transformation, and image resampling. For feature detection, we extract overlapping areas and resample them to equalize their GSDs. For feature matching, we used Oriented FAST and rotated BRIEF (ORB) to improve matching performance. We performed image registration experiments with images KOMPSAT-3A and RapidEye. The performance verification of the proposed method was checked in qualitative and quantitative methods. The reprojection errors of image matching were in the range of 1.277 to 1.608 pixels accuracy with respect to the GSD of RapidEye images. Finally, we confirmed the possibility of satellite image matching with heterogeneous GSDs through the proposed method.
In order to improve formal presentation attitudes such as presentation of job interviews and presentation of project results at the company, there are few automated methods other than observation by colleagues or professors. In previous studies, it was reported that the speaker's stable speech and gaze processing affect the delivery power in the presentation. Also, there are studies that show that proper feedback on one's presentation has the effect of increasing the presenter's ability to present. In this paper, considering the positive aspects of correction, we developed a program that intelligently corrects the wrong presentation habits and attitudes of college students through facial analysis of videos and analyzed the proposed program's performance. The proposed program was developed through web-based verification of the use of redundant words and facial recognition and textualization of the presentation contents. To this end, an artificial intelligence model for classification was developed, and after extracting the video object, facial feature points were recognized based on the coordinates. Then, using 4000 facial data, the performance of the algorithm in this paper was compared and analyzed with the case of facial recognition using a Teachable Machine. Use the program to help presenters by correcting their presentation attitude.

As the occurrences of flash floods have increased due to climate change, faster and more accurate precipitation observation using X-band radar has become important. Therefore, the Ministry of Environment installed two dual-pol X-band radars at Samcheok and Uljin. The radar data used in this study were obtained from two different elevation angles and composed to reduce the shielding effect. To obtain quantitative rainfall, quality control (QC), KDP retrieval, and Hybrid Surface Rainfall (HSR) methods were sequentially applied. To improve the accuracy of the quantitative precipitation estimation (QPE) of the X-band radar, we retrieved parameters for the relationship between rainfall rate and specific differential phase, which is commonly called the R-KDP relationship; hence, an empirical approach was developed using multiple rain gauges for those two radars. The newly suggested relationship, R = 27.4K0.81DP, slightly increased the correlation coefficient by 1% more than the relationship suggested by the previous study. The root mean square error significantly decreased from 3.88 mm/hr to 3.68 mm/hr, and the bias of the estimated precipitation also decreased from -1.72 mm/hr to -0.92 mm/hr for overall cases, showing the improvement of the new method.
Background: Surgical repair of partial anomalous pulmonary venous return (PAPVR) to the superior vena cava (SVC) using the Warden procedure has favorable outcomes. However, there remain some concerns after the Warden procedure, such as sinoatrial nodal dysfunction and systemic or pulmonary venous stenosis. We investigated the outcomes of the Warden procedure for repair of PAPVR to the SVC. Methods: This retrospective study included 22 consecutive patients who underwent the Warden procedure for PAPVR between 2002 and 2018. The median age and body weight at operation were 27.5 months (interquartile range [IQR], 5.0-56.8 months) and 13.2 kg (IQR, 6.5-16.0 kg), respectively. The median follow-up duration was 6.2 years (IQR, 3.5-11.6 years). Results: There were no cases of early or late mortality. No patients had postoperative heart rhythm problems, except 1 patient who showed transient sinoatrial nodal dysfunction in the immediate postoperative period. Procedure-related complications requiring reintervention occurred in 5 patients, including 3 of 4 SVC stenosis cases and 2 pulmonary venous stenosis cases during follow-up. The rate of freedom from reintervention related to the Warden procedure was 75.9% at 10 years. Conclusion: In cases requiring extension or creation of an atrial septal defect to achieve a sufficient venous pathway, or interposition of an entire circumferential conduit between the SVC and right atrium due to the shortness of the SVC in the Warden procedure, stenotic complications of the venous pathway occurred. Careful observation of changes in the pressure gradient or anatomical stenosis is required in such patients.
