We have reported a sensitive, specific and simple direct competitive ELISA method to detect aflatoxin in agricultural commodities. We evaluated the ELISA for practical use to detect aflatoxins contaminated in the domestic and foreign agricultural commodities. The detection limits of the direct ELISA for residual aflatoxins in rice, pine nuts, corns, almonds, bean nuts, and pistachio were 10 ppb and in peanuts and cashew nuts were 20 ppb, which were elucidated from the standard curves of ELISA for aflatoxin fortified into the agricultural commodities. Residue studies of naturally contaminated aflatoxins in the agricultural commodities were also carried out by using direct ELISA. As the results of the studies, it was revealed that there were no residues of aflatoxins in 20 rice samples produced in south Korea, 20 pine nut samples in south Korea (9 samples), USA (1 sample) and China (10 samples), each of 20 almond, pistachio and bean nut samples in USA. However, aflatoxin residues were detected in corn samples imported from north Korea (350∼585 ppb in 2 of 3 samples), from USA (109*326 ppb in 6 of 6 samples) and domestic corns (61-326 ppb in 7 of 17 samples). The toxins were contaminated in corn imported from USA for popcorn (17∼20 ppb, in 3 of 10 samples) whereas no residues were detected in corn from south Korea and China. In case of cashew nuts imported from India, 11.4∼23.1 ppb of aflatoxins were detected in 4 from 20 samples. Most of the contaminated foods were harvested before 1995. Thus, hygienic managements of the foods should be required during storage and circulation at market.

Objectives: The rising burden of preventable risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among adolescents is a major public health challenge worldwide. We identified the preventable risk factors for NCDs in adolescents. Methods: In a school-based study, pre-tested structured questionnaires were completed by 414 adolescents (14 to 17 years) at six schools in three cities in Pakistan. The chi-squared test and adjusted odds ratio (aOR) with 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated in a multinomial logistic regression analysis. Results: Over 80% of the adolescents had unhealthy diets, and 54% were physically inactive. Most adolescents were exposed to passive smoking, and 14% were also current smokers. More than one-third of participants chewed betel nut, and one-quarter used oral tobacco. More girls were physically inactive (OR, 4.07; 95% CI, 2.69 to 6.17), whereas a greater proportion of boys were current smokers (OR, 2.17; 95% CI, 1.19 to 3.91), exposed to passive smoking (OR, 2.57; 95% CI, 1.72 to 3.83), and using betel nut (OR, 2.03; 95% CI, 1.34 to 3.06). Only 3.1% of the participants were without any preventable lifestyle risk factor for NCDs, and over 80% had ${\geq}$2 factors. Co-existence of risk factors was independently associated with fathers being blue-collar workers (aOR, 3.57; 95% CI, 1.07 to 11.92) and parents not treating their child fairly (aOR, 5.05; 95% CI, 1.29 to 19.78). Conclusions: Most of the adolescents studied had preventable risk factors for NCDs. These results warrant comprehensive and integrated interventions to prevent lifestyle risk factors, and parents are front-line stakeholders.
The natural dyeing of cotton fabrics with guava leaf extract was investigated. The temperature and time of dyeing are $40^{\circ}C$ and $90^{\circ}C$ for eighty minutes, respectively. In addition, the dyebath has been set at pH 5. Sn pre-mordanted fabrics showed the highest K/S value. Regardless of dyeing temperature, K/S values were high when Al, Cu, Fe-mordanted fabrics were dyed in post-mordanting and Sn-mordanted fabrics were dyed in pre-mordanting. The K/S value of dyeing fabrics could be increased with repetitive dyeing and mordanting. Compared to untreated dyed fabrics, the K/ S values of fabrics which had been treated with soybean milk, chitosan and gall nut tannin were increased. The changed surface colors of fabrics that were treated with soybean milk, chitosan and gall nut tannin were Y, YR and achromatic colors. Fabrics dyed with alkaline water extract showed reddish color. Sn-mordanted fabrics dyed with acidic water extract showed vivid yellowish color, and Cu-mordanted fabrics dyed with ethanol extract showed yellowish green color. In case of Sn-mordanted fabrics, the washing fastness was level 4. The dry cleaning fastness also showed very excellent result with level 4-5. The rubbing fastness was better in dry rubbing than in wet rubbing of the fabrics. For the light fastness, all dyed fabrics showed low fastness. For antibacterial activity, the powder of guava leaf extract and the dyed fabrics with guava leaf extract showed 99.9% of high antibacterial activity. All dyed fabrics showed higher deodorization and UV protection rate than control fabric.
In the friction-type joints the external applied load is transmitted by frictional force acting on the contact area of the plates fastened by the high strength bolts. This frictional force is proportional to the product of the bolt clamping force and slip coefficient of the faying surface. But the bolt clamping force is dependent on many factors when the turn-of-nut method is used. The preserved thread length and length-to-diameter ratios are one of the major factors governing the bolt clamping force. This paper presents the correct method of high strength bolt tightening through the experiment on the mechanical properties on sets of high strength bolts in accordance with preserved thread length and length-to-diameter ratios.
Background: Tobacco is a leading preventable cause of deaths worldwide; the situation is particularly serious in the developing countries. Tobacco use amongst the children and adolescents is already a pandemic and they are vulnerable targets of tobacco industry. This is also the case in India. Objectives: 1) Document and monitor the prevalence of tobacco use including smoked, smokeless and other forms of tobacco; 2) Understand student knowledge and attitudes related to tobacco use and its health impact; 3) Assess the impact of tobacco on the oral health status of school-going children in India. Materials and Methods: The sample was 1,500 school children of the age group 12-15 years age. A pretested, close ended questionnaire was administered in the form of extensive face to face interview to understand student knowledge, attitudes and behavior related to tobacco use and its health impact and to assess the prevalence of tobacco use including smoked, smokeless and other forms of tobacco. Oral health status was assessed using the Community Periodontal Index (CPI). Frequency distribution, Chi-square tests and Odd's ratio was calculated. Results: Prevalence of tobacco usage amongst the prevalence was 20.4%: 9.2% reported smoking, 15.8% used tobacco in the chewable form and 25.3% children were involved in consuming betel nut/areca nuts. The OR (Odd's ratio) for calculus formation was highest for guthka chewers (OR=14.322), paan masala chewers had the highest odds of developing bleeding on probing when compared to the others. Conclusions: There is an urgent need to launch school-based tobacco prevention programs for community awareness of children and the public, as preventing the initiation of a habit is far easier than stopping it.
Nowadays, synthetic resin varnish such as cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) is being used as well as traditional lacquer. The code of ethics states that material must be identical to the original when preserving cultural heritage. Therefore, lacquer should be used. However, problem is that even experts have difficulties differentiating lacquer and CNSL as they have similar components. Therefore, this study was carried out to identify the difference between lacquer and CNSL using IR and Py-GC/MS. As a result of IR, in lacquer, $720cm^{-1}$ peak was detected and in CNSL, $750cm^{-1}$, $720cm^{-1}$ and $700cm^{-1}$ peaks were detected. The results of Py-GC/MS detect benzene compounds and alkyl chains for both varnishes. However, hexanoic acid was detected from CNSL but not lacquer. Using these analytical methods, the differences between lacquer and CNSL can be identified on the scene. This is expected to be applied to the authentic conservation and restoration of lacquerware.
Sprout ginseng paste were prepared with pine nut, dry oyster and dry shrimp to examine the antioxidant properties(total polyphenols, total flavonoids, and electron donating ability) and sensory test(attribute difference and acceptance). Sprout ginseng paste were measured based on color value, pH, viscosity, total bacteria cell numbers for 0 and 20 days at $4^{\circ}C$. The higher total polyphenol and total flavonoid content of sprout ginseng paste added with pine nuts, dry oyster, and dry shrimp were higher antioxidant capacity. DPPH radical scavenging activity was increased from 52.2% (SGP0) to 79.5.0 % with SGP5. The attribute test results reveal that the color intensity, bitter taste, and oily taste were decreased in SGP3 to SGP6. Taste, flavor, and coarseness did not show significant difference in SGP0 to SGP6. Thickness and After taste were increased in SGP4 to SGP6. The preference test results reveal that the appearance, flavor, and texture level did not show significant difference in SGP0 to SGP6. Taste and overall preference were increased in SGP4 to SGP6. L value, pH, decrease while a value and b value show no change in sprout ginseng paste with pine nut, dry oyster and dry shrimp. Total cell number was not detected during storage.

Ball screw system is widely used as a precision mechanical linear actuator that translates rotational motion to linear motion for its high efficiency, great stiffness and long life. Recently, according to the requirements of high accuracy and stiffness, the pre-load on the ball screw which means of remove the backlash in the ball screw is usually used. Because of the preload which means the frictional resistance between the screw and nut, becomes a dominating heat source and it generates thermal deformation of ball screw which is the reason for low accuracy of the positioning decision. There are several methods to solve the problem that includes temperature control, thermal stable design and error compensation. In the past years, researchers focused on the error compensation technique for its ability to correct ball screw error effectively rather than the capabilities of careful machine design and manufacturing. Significant amounts of researches have been done to real-time error compensation. But in this paper, we developed a series of cooling methods to get thermal equilibrium in the ball screw system. So we find the optimum cooling type for improving positioning error which caused by thermal deformation in the ball screw system.

This study surveyed consumers' sensory liking ratings of 3 types of developed brown rice products (brown rice nut waffles, Kimchi and tuna rice ball, sweet red-bean paste rice ball) and analyzed the drivers for liking or disliking the brown rice products. Each brown rice product had a brown rice to brown rice powder ratio of either: 100:0; 80:20; or 50:50. Forty consumers evaluated the acceptance of brown rice products on a 9-point hedonic scale and gave comments regarding liking or disliking each product. The results of the preference investigation analysis showed subjectivity depending on the brown rice product and the respondents' genders and ages. For brown rice nut waffles was affected by gender, age, and brown rice powder mixing ratio (p < 0.05). The variables "liking the aroma"; "liking the delicate flavor"; "liking the chewiness"; "liking the moistness"; "liking the softness"; "liking the harmony"; "liking the aftertaste" and "overall acceptability" did not differ significantly with the Kimchi and tuna rice ball. For the sweet red-bean paste rice ball product, the rates of liking the chewiness, stickiness, moistness, and softness of the 0% brown rice powder mix were all higher (p < 0.05) than were the rates of liking those same qualities in the 50% brown rice powder mix. Among all brown rice products, there were high correlations between the overall acceptability, liking the saltiness, liking the aroma, and liking the harmony. A preference investigation analysis showed that the brown rice product fillings were key factors to the products' overall acceptability.
Background: This study aimed to determine the association between betel quid chewing and the occurrence of upper aerodigestive tract (UADT) cancers. Methods: A cohort of 17,388 subjects, recruited and interviewed over the 1990-2001 period, in Khon Kaen, Thailand, was followed up until 2011. The data were linked to the Khon Kaen Population-Based Cancer Registry. Results: The prevalence of betel quid chewing was 15.9%, with a female predominance (97.7%); the mean age of chewers was 57.7 years (SD 6.6). The overall incidence of UADT cancers from the cohort was 14.7 per 100,000 person-years, whereas the incidence among the chewers was 45.7. Betel nut chewing was the only major risk factor for UADT cancers in this population (HR=5.26, 95%CI=2.51-11.0), while weak associations were found for tobacco smoking and alcohol (HR=1.16, 95%CI=0.45-3.01 and 1.47, 95%CI=0.72-3.03 respectively). Conclusions: We found betel quid chewing to be a main risk factor for UADT cancers, resulting in a higher incidence in females. However, further study is required to explore the potential risk factors among non-chewers, non-smokers, and non-drinkers.
