Objective: This study was to assess the effects of different doses of an essential oil blend (EOB) on growth performance, diarrhea occurrence (DO), hematological and blood biochemical profile, intestinal morphometry, morphology and microbiology, relative weight and length of organs, digestive content pH, and liver antioxidant status in weaning piglets. Methods: A total of 135 barrows (7.09±0.29 kg body weight) were allotted randomly in a randomized complete block design based on body weight with nine replications and three animals per pen. Dietary treatments were a negative control (NC): basal diet; positive control (PC): NC plus 125 mg performance-enhancing antibiotic (enramycin 8%)/kg diet; NC plus 100 mg EOB/kg diet (EO100); NC plus 200 mg EOB/kg diet (EO200); and NC plus 400 mg EOB/kg diet (EO400). Diarrhea occurrence was monitored daily, and performance at the end of each phase. Results: Gain to feed ratio was greater (p<0.05) in starter II pigs fed EO400 and EO200 than in those fed EO100. Pigs fed EO400 had lower (p<0.05) DO than those fed NC and EO100 in the total period. Pre-starter II pigs fed NC had (p<0.05) lower serum total protein and plasma protein than pigs fed PC. Pigs fed EO100 showed smaller (p<0.05) mean corpuscular volume (MCV) than pigs fed EO400. Starter II pigs fed EO400 had (p<0.05) greater MCV and lower mean corpuscular hemoglobin and erythrocytes than those fed EO100. There was a greater concentration (p<0.05) of band cells for PC, similar to EO400 and EO200. Performance-enhancing antibiotic and EOB to diets increased (p<0.05) liver superoxide dismutase activity. Conclusion: Adding 200 and 400 mg EOB/kg diet decreased DO and was advantageous to hematological and blood biochemical profile and liver antioxidant status without being detrimental to growth performance and gastrointestinal health in nursery pigs.

Due to the relatively high number of members and low income in each family, Wido inhabitants take very low nutrition. The result indicates that nutrition at the present time is generally lower than that of 1973 with the exception of fat. Consequently, the degree of body development of primary and junior high school students has not generally reached the standard in Korea, that was collected from Gyeongido, Korea and from Japan, of the corresponding grade students as well as the Hb content is significantly insufficient. As the body development of 12-year-old children grown at home and nursery, and attending the sports school are compared with that of the Korean standard and Wido students, the body development of Wido students is similar to the Korean standard, and slighly better than that of the sports school students by three years. Health is important as said that health power is nation's power. In order to maintain good health, the normal level of body development and Hb content is necessary for which the recommended daily nutrition for each person should be taken. In addition, the present status and importance of body development and nutrition should be fully educated the primary and junior high school students as well as directly to the inhabitants.
This study was conducted to figure out the effect of silicate as growth stimulator on growth of 'Pencrosss' creeping bentgrass. Creeping bentgrass(Agrostis palustris cv. 'Pencross') at the nursery of Sinwon Country Club was used. Silicate was applied at the concentration of 0, $200{\times}$, $500{\times}$, $1.000{\times}$. Polt size was 1 by 2 meter and there were three replications with completely randomized design(CRD). Creeping bentgrass growth was evaluated with visual turf grass quality, root length and No. of tiller density(ea/$cm^2$). Results of this study are as followings; 1. Average root length with silicate was $1.5{\sim}1.9cm$ longer than control. Especially, Root length of silicate was $7{\sim}8cm$ in summer. 2. Tiller density with silicate was $l8{\sim}22ea/cm^2$, $0.4{\sim}2.l$ less than control. But there was no significant difference. 3. Visual turfgrass quality with silicate was $5.0{\sim}8.3$, $0.3{\sim}1.5$ higher than control. But there was no significant difference. In conclusion, silicate might be grown as root growth stimulator of creeping bentgrass during summer in Korea. However, this study was conducted under one year. Accordingly, in-depth experiment should be done over several years.
Traffic management is becoming an important issue in turfgrass practise on golf course. The objective of this study was to investigate the combined impact of different traffic times and types of fertilization. Traffic treatment was applied in morning (AM), noon, and afternoon (PM). Fertilizers used include faster-release fertilizer (21-17-17) and slow-release fertilizers (12-6-18, 11-3-22, 20-3-20, 10-3-10). Experiment was conducted from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30, 2005 on a nursery putting green of Incheon Grand Golf Club. The growth and quality of creeping bentgrass (Agrostis polustris cv. 'Seaside II') were evaluated on visual leaf color, leaf texture, shoot density, and root length. The measurement at 20 days after treatment, turfgrass color and leaf texture showed the best result on 10-15-10 + Noon-traffic plot. Turf quality and traffic tolerance were not different at Am and Pm traffic treatment. However, traffic stress in early morning and late evening caused the most severe damage to the turfgrass. Shoot density was the highest in 10-15-10 + Noon-traffic treatment but root length was not different among treatments after 30 day measurement. Among the fertilizers, slow release fertilizer resulted in higher turf quality and traffic tolerance than fast release fertilizer, however, shoot density did not showed a significantly different. For the fast recuperation of turfgrass from traffic injury in the early winter, it is recommended to avoid early morning and late evening traffic such as cup replacement and other maintenance practise. It is also recommended to delay the first tee-up time and ending early for last tee time during cold weather season.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the awareness of daycare teachers by the nursery school operation performance of the National Competency Standards(NCS). For this purpose, 35 public and private daycare center, home daycare centers and corporation daycare center teachers were randomly sampled in Busan Metropolitan City. We conducted a questionnaire consisting of 230 sub-elements based on 45 sub-competency unit elements extracted from 12 areas of job ability of the national competence standards. Final questionnaires were collected from 117 questionnaires of 28 national daycare teachers, 30 private daycare teachers, 30 home daycare teachers, and 29 corporation daycare teachers. As a result, there was a difference in the awareness of importance among the four groups in all 12 performance capability units. For the 12 job performance units, the importance was recognized in the order of corporate daycare center, national daycare center, home daycare center, and private daycare center. Among them, "Establishment of Child Care Center Management Policy", "Construction of Child Care Service", "Child Care Activity Management", "Infant and Child Playing Guide", "Body and Art Activity Guidance", "Language, Nutritional guidance" there were no differences in the awareness of the importance of corporate daycare teachers and national daycare teachers, and there was no difference between national daycare teachers and home daycare teachers. However, there was a difference between corporate daycare teachers and home daycare teachers.. There is also a difference in the awareness of importance between home daycare teachers and private daycare teachers. In the remaining five job competence units, "Child Care Assessment", "Support for Infant and Toddler Development", "Cooperation with the Home and Community", "Child Care Management", and "Child Care Research", corporation daycare centers, national daycare centers. There was no statistically significant difference in the awareness of importance, but there was a significant difference from the private daycare teachers. Also this tendency was consistently observed in 45 sub-capacity unit elements.

Unlike general microwave, QRD (Quadratic Residue Diffusor) Microwave used in this study is known as a new technology that enhances the sterilization effect with low power because it is possible to induce the average sterilization by changing wavelength phase difference. Therefore, basic research was conducted on the function that could sterilize culture media for plant factory by using environmentally friendly and low energy consuming QRD Microwave. The results are as follows: It was confirmed that there was no external deformation in the polyurethane foam and rock wool medium when changing the microwave level between 2 and 8 kW in different water content of culture media. However, PDA solid media at 2 kW were not dissolved in 60 and 180 seconds. All of the media were dissolved in other processing. There was little difference in the microwave irradiation level and surface temperature of the strain according to the processing time between Bacillus sp. and Burkholderia sp. In the sterility test according to the microwave irradiation level and processing time, it was confirmed that both Bacillus sp. and Burkholderia sp. grew in the microwave level 2 kW regardless of time. In the microwave level 6 kW, all experimental groups except the processing of Burkholderia sp. for 60 seconds were sterilized, and all of Bacillus sp. was killed in the all experimental groups. In the microwave level 8 kW, it was confirmed that both Bacillus sp. and Burkholderia sp. were sterilized regardless of time. The temperature in microwave-processed media after contaminating strains to each medium was maintained at more than 100 in polyurethane foam and rock wool medium after 60 seconds. In general, it was shown that it was possible to sterilize after 60 seconds. Therefore, it is considered that Bacillus sp. and Burkholderia sp. which are the biggest problems in the plant factory can be adequately sterilized by QRD Microwave used in this study.

RHS is a core organization with huge influences on the expansion of the base for the garden culture and industry. This study aimed to examine the meaning and value of the professional charity's role through the appearance background and developmental process of RHS. The passion for plant collection in the Victorian Age of the $19^{th}$ century became the background of establishing the society. Such background of the times and the root of the society are deeply related to the British civil garden culture. The consideration of the forming process of RHS and the study can be summarized as below. First, the professional introduction of exotic plants by plant hunters was developed into an organization supporting professional plant research through collection, sampling, and records, which led to the development of horticulture techniques, growth of plant nursery businesses and established the foundation of the civil garden culture in the UK. Second, after John Loudon was involved in RHS, inspired by the press editing more practical information contents, middle-class and women became new patrons to gardening. Therefore, the care of gardens became a source of agreeable domestic recreation, especially to the female sex. Third, $19^{th}$ century plant collection and exhibition was seen in the Chelsea Flower Show which a key role beyond the UK garden culture. Fourth, those acts of RHS and modernity in $19^{th}$ developed British middle-class domestic gardens which have the character of the ordinary and national garden style in the UK. Such history and activities of RHS are connected to the national status as a country of gardens, which suggests clues to practical measures and values we should aim for in order to settle citizen-centered garden culture.
Traffic causes more and more stress and injury to grasses on golf course green in Korea due to the increased playing. This study compared the effect of fertilizer component (Nitrate, Phosphate, Potassium) on turfgrass growth and quality golf course green under traffic stress during early winter. Experiment was conducted by using different fertilizer components for 2 months(Oct. 1 to Nov. 30, 2005). Turfgrass leaf color, leaf texture, density and traffic tolerance were evaluated visually, and the root length(cm) and tiller density(tiller/$cm^2$) were measured. Creeping bentgrass(Agrostis palustris cv. 'Seaside II') fromthe nursery of Incheon Grand Golf Club was used. Results of this study are as followings: 1). Turfgrass color was the best in A6(20-15-10) and A5(15-15-10) treatments in the N study. Leaf texture was not different among treatments. Turf quality and traffic tolerance were the highest In A5 and A6. Root length was the longest(15.8cm) in A6 (20-15-10). Root length increased with nitrogen levels. 2). Turf color of A9(5-7.5-5) and A10(15-22.5-15) was darkest in the comparison of P study. Leaf texture was the best in A4(10-15-10) and A9. Turf quality was the best in A10. A7(10-0-10). 3). In general, to recover turfgrass damage on the putting greens during low temperature period, fertilizer amount need to be increased; and nitrogen is better than phosphate and potassium for that purpose.
