신호교차로 안전성 향상을 위한 사고심각도 모형개발 (A Development of Models for Analyzing Traffic Accident Injury Severity for Signalized Intersections)

  • As the interest in traffic safety has been increasing recently, social movement is being made to reduce the number of traffic accidents and the view on improving the mobility of the existing roads is being converted into on establishing traffic safety as a priority. The increase of traffic accidents related to an intersection in a state that traffic accidents are decreasing overall may suggests the necessity to investigate the specific causes. In addition, we have to consider them when establishing the measures against traffic accidents in a intersection by investigating and analyzing the influences and factors that may affect traffic accidents. To induce the accident severity model, we collected the factors that affect accidents and then applied the Poisson Regression Model among nonlinear regression analysis by verifying the distribution of variables. As a result of the analysis, it turned out that the volume of traffic on main roads, the right turn ratio on sub-roads, the number of ways out on sub-roads, the number of exclusive roads for a left turn, the signals for a right turn on main roads, and an intersect angle were the factors that affect the accident severity.

  • By evaluating the health status of 152 male workers engaged in a metal-product factory by Cornell Medical Index in conjunction with their experience of industrial accident, I attempted to find out whether any health condition may effect on the occurence of industrial accident. Differences in frequency of complaints in each section of CMI between control workers and accident workers were statistically tested by T-test. On the other hand, influence of neuropsychiatric factors (section M-R) on the occurence of accidents was analyzed by $X^2-test$ with Fukamachi's classification. The followings were the results obtained in this study. 1. The average number (26.42) of physical complaints in accident group is significantly more than in control group (18.70). 2. The average number (17.70) of mental complaints in accident group is very significantly more than in control group (11.70). 3. Differences in frequencies of complaints by sections between accident group and control group was all significant except C (cardiovascular system), H (genitourinary system), I (fatigue) & J (frequency of disease). 4. frequency rate of neurotic workers who were identified by Fukamachi's classification was significantly higher in accident group (72%) than in control group (51%).

Compression of the Variables Classifying Domestic Marine Accident Data

  • Maritime accidents result in enormous economic loss and loss of life; thus, such accidents must be prevented, and risks must be managed to prevent these occurrences Risk management must be based on statistical evidence such as variables. Because calculating when variables increase statistically can be difficult, compressing the designated variables is necessary to use the maritime accident data in Korea. Thus, in this study, variables of marine accident data are compressed using statistical methods. The date, ship type, and marine accident type included in all maritime accident data were extracted, the number of optimal variables was confirmed using the hierarchical clustering analysis method, and the data were compressed. For the compressed variables, the validity of the data use was statistically confirmed using analysis of variance, and the data of the variables identified using the variable compression method were designated. Consequently, among the monthly and yearly data, statistical significance was confirmed in yearly data, and compression was possible. The significance of the data was confirmed in six and eight types of ships and accidents, respectively, and these were compressed. These results can be directly used for prevention or prediction based on past maritime accident data. Additionally, the data range extracted from past maritime accidents and the number of applicable data will be studied in the future.

차량유형에 따른 교통사고심각도 분석모형 개발 (Developing the Traffic Accident Severity Models by Vehicle Type)

  • This study deals with the accident models of arterial link sections by vehicle type. The objectives are to analyze the characteristics of accidents, and to develop the models by type. In pursuing the above, this study uses the data of 414 accidents occurred on 24 major arterial links in 2007. The main results analyzed are as follows. First, the number of accidents is analyzed to account for about 47% in passenger car, 15% in SUV and 10% in trucks. Second, 3 Poisson regression models which are all statistically significant are developed using passenger car, SUV and truck as dependant variables. Finally, AADT and the number of traffic islands as common variables, and the number of pedestrian crossings, lanes, connecting roads, intersections(4-Leg), rate of medians and the number of bus stops as specific variables of the models are selected.

교통사고 조사의 과학화 기술개발 (Scientific Technical Development of Traffic Accident Investigation)

  • 요즈음 교통사고를 줄이기 위하여 IT 기술을 이용한 교통사고 연구가 많이 진행되고 있다. 그러나, 뺑소니 교통사고 발생하면 가해차량을 현장에서 찾기가 매우 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기위해서 RFID TAG를 이용해서 뺑소니 교통사고가 발생할 경우에 차량에 내장된 RFID 리더기가 상대방 차량의 차량번호를 인식할 수 있는 모의실험을 하였다. 뿐만 아니라, PDA를 이용한 인터넷 기반에서 교통사고가 발생한 경우에 현장에서 운전자가 교통사고현장 자료 및 운전자 인적사항을 경찰서나 보험회사에 전송할 수 있는 SW를 모의실험하였다. 모의실험결과 통과차량속도가 저속인 경우에는 70%이상 차량번호를 익식할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

도시쇠퇴 지표를 적용한 지역별 고령운전자 교통사고 영향 분석 (Regional Traffic Accident Model of Elderly Drivers based on Urban Decline Index)

  • This study deals with the relation between traffic accident and urban decline. The purpose of this study is to develop the regional accident models of elderly drivers. In order to develop the count data models, 2009-2015 traffic accident data from TAAS(traffic accident analysis system) and urban decline data from urban regeneration information system are collected. The main results are as follows. First, the null hypothesis that there is no difference in the accident number between elderly and non-elderly drivers is rejected. Second, 8 accident models which are all statistically significant have been developed. Finally, common variables between elderly and non-elderly are ratio of elderly people, elderly person living alone/1,000 persons and wholesale/retail employments/1,000 persons. This study could be expected to give many implications to making regional accident reduction policy.

비용분석을 통한 교통사고 누적지역 선정방안 (Selection of Accident Frequency Area through Accident Cost Analysis)

  • 자동차의 증가에 따른 사고는 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 교통사고로 인한 사망자수를 줄이기 위해 많은 안전정책이 추진되고 있으며 교통사고 사망자수를 제로로 만들기 위한 노력이 계속되고 있다. 2016년에 수립된 「제3차 교통안전기본계획」에 따르면 안전시설에 대한 개선사업은 누적사망자수가 가장 많은 지역을 우선으로 하도록 되어있다. 이는 시에서 관할하는 도로의 경우 어느 정도 합당한 방법이기는 하지만 구에서 관리하는 20m미만도로의 경우 사망자수가 기준치에 크게 미치지 못하는 현실에서 단순히 사망자수가 많은 지역을 위주로 개선방안을 내는 것은 합리적이지 않을 수 있다. 또한, 사망사고의 발생 원인이 특별한 안전시설이나 제도의 미비 때문인지 우연의 발생인지를 알아내기에는 사고건수가 상대적으로 미미하기 때문에 전체 사고를 기준으로 하는 것이 장래 더 많은 효과를 볼 수 있는 개연성이 있다. 본 연구는 사고비용을 토대로 사망사고 발생지역과 사고다발지역에 대한 비용분석을 통하여 이를 비교하였다. 3개의 산정방식을 이용한 사고비용 분석결과 모든 교통사고의 비용이 포함되었을 때에 사망자수가 없는 신촌네거리의 비용이 기존에 사고누적지역으로 채택된 시온보육원입구 삼거리의 비용보다 높게 나타나는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 고려했을 때 교통사고 누적지점 선정 시 사고에 따른 비용, 사고 심각도에 대한 가중치 등을 고려하여 지점을 선정할 필요가 있다.

제조업 근로자의 근골격계 질환 예방을 위한 물리치료 기반 맞춤형 운동프로그램이 통증, 재해율, 및 근로손실에 미치는 영향: 단일사례 연구 (Effect of Physical Therapy Based Tailored Exercise Program on Pain, Accident incidence Rates, and Lost Days of Work in Manufacturing Worker: Single Subject Design)

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a physical therapy-based tailored exercise program on pain, accident incidence rates, the number of work days lost, and economical loss cost for workers in an automobile parts manufacturing company. METHODS: A total of 530 workers with musculoskeletal symptoms were given a physical therapy-based tailored exercise program twice a week, for one hour a day. This exercise program consisted of movement pattern correction, muscle stretching and strengthening, and postural correction exercises, according to principles of movement impairment syndromes and medical training therapy. From 2011 to 2016, the lost days of work, accident incidence rates, and loss cost were examined. The pain measured by VAS (visual analogue scale) and the number of workers participating in the exercise program from 2014 to 2016 were also measured. The single subjects A-B design was applied and analyzed. RESULTS: After applying the exercise program, pain decreased and the number of workers participating in the program increased. Accident incidence rates, number of work days lost, and economical loss cost decreased. There was a significant correlation between the number of workers who received exercise therapy by year and accident incidence rates, lost days of work, and economical loss cost (p<.05). CONCLUSION: It is necessary to expand the physical therapy-based tailored exercise program to prevent musculoskeletal disorders because it has a positive effect on both workers and employers.

고속도로 구조물공사의 안전사고 특성분석 (An Analysis of Accidents in the Expressway Structure Construction)

  • 최근 고속도로 건설공사는 대형화, 복잡화, 첨단화로 인한 작업환경 및 작업의 종류도 다양화 되고 있다. 공사 장비 또한 대형화와 고소작업의 증가에 따라 안전사고가 증가하고 있어 건설재해를 감소시키려는 노력이 요구된다. 그러나 구체적이고 과학적 방법을 사용한 기술적 안전관리 대처 수단이 미비하다. 사고 예방을 위해서 안전사고 유형 및 사고요인 등을 통계적인 방법으로 분석하여 각 변수들에 대한 안전관리에 적용할 수 있는 방안이 구체적으로 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 고속도로 건설공사의 12년간 안전사고에 대한 조사를 실시하여 사고발생요인들에 따라 사고유형 및 환산재해자수에 대한 특성을 분석하기 위한 목적으로 실증분석을 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 사고요인별 사고유형과의 유의미한 차이를 검정한 결과 사고 발생 원인 및 사고발생 높이가 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 기간별요인 중에 사고발생시간이 환산재해자수와의 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 작업여건별 요인 중에는 사고발생원인, 사고발생높이, 사고발생유형이 환산재해자수와의 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 요인들과 변수들의 특징을 분석하여 제시한 결과는 향후 안전관리 대책 수립에 중요한 의미가 있다.

An evaluation of the effectiveness of the Behaviour Based Safety Initiative card system at a cement manufacturing company in Zimbabwe

  • Background: A behavior-based safety initiative card-issuing system was introduced at a cement-manufacturing company in Zimbabwe in 2008 to try and curb accident occurrence. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the Behaviour Based Safety Initiative card system as a tool used for reducing accident frequencies. Methods: A mixed-method approach that involving administering piloted questionnaires to 40 out of 244 randomly selected employees, making observations, and reviewing secondary data were done to collect data from different sources in the organization in 2013. A paired t-test was conducted to test whether there was significant difference in accident occurrence before and after the implementation of the BBSI. Scatterplots were also used to establish the correlation between the issuance of cards and the accident and injury occurrence. Results: The findings suggest that the introduction of the card system brought a significant decrease in accident and injury occurrence. A negative correlation between card issuance and accident occurrence was observed, i.e., the greater the number of cards issued, the fewer the number of accidents. It was also noted that the card system positively influenced the mindset of workers towards safe work practices. Conclusion: The card system had an influence on the reduction of accidents and injuries. The organization should leverage on issuing more cards to further reduce the number of accidents and injuries to zero.
