A Kr öger-Vink Compatible Notation for Defects in Inherently Defective Sublattices

  • Traditional Kr$\ddot{o}$ger-Vink (K-V) notation defines sites in ionic crystals as interstitial or belonging to host ions. It enables description and calculations of combinations of native and foreign defects, including dopants and substituents. However, some materials exhibit inherently disordered partial occupancy of ions and vacancies, or partial occupancy of two types of ions. For instance, the high temperature disordered phases of $Bi_2O_3$, $Ba_2In_2O_5$, $La_2Mo_2O_9$, mayenite $Ca_{12}Al_{14}O_{33}$, AgI, and $CsHSO_4$ are all good ionic conductors and thus obviously contain charged point defects. But traditional K-V notation cannot account for a charge compensating defect in each case, without resorting to terms like "100% substitution" or "Frenkel disorder". the former arbitrary and awkward and the latter inappropriate. Instead, a K-V compatible nomenclature in which the partially occupied site is defined as the perfect site, has been proposed. I here introduce it thoroughly and provide a number of examples.

  • The U.S. Library of Congress proposal to change the subject heading of Tok Island(in Korea called Dokdo) to Liancourt Rocks was controversial. Therefore the status of Dokdo, national notation(Dokdo or Tokdo), and international notation used to identify the island were examined. In this examination, Tok Island's classification in the Korea Decimal Classification(KDC), Library of Congress Classification(LCC), and Nippon Decimal Classification(NDC) were compared and analysed, and a proposal for the role of libraries in the future was given.

  • The whole image of circulation occupied with user has duplicated inter-relationship. It means many situation exist simultaneously, and the character of space factors are completed by the inter-relationship of the detailed structure. The purpose of this study is on the proper notation for circulation analysis of the sequential space structure which is constructed by the formal constituent and the change of visual circumstance influence on the action of user. This study investigate the possibility of notation by arranging the analysis method of the visual space and focusing on the research for the visual perception behaviour of user being applied various space, and the possibility of application as a method of space design.

Y Block Diagram as a New Process Notation in a GPS Manufacture

  • Company A should maintain myriad conversion tools for the purpose of making a geometric compilation of navigation maps. Company A is already using complex compilation tools, which are tailored to geographical areas and various GPS models. However, due to frequent requirement and personnel changes, there is an endless challenge for perfect tool configuration and multiple map consolidation. To solve this problem, Company A launched a process automation project using Graphviz, which is an open source workflow graph visualization software. Before implementation, they had to document their current map compilation processes and then match it with the applicable conversion tool. For effective representation of process controls, a new graphical process notation is designed, i.e. Y Block diagram. The authors will compare Y Block diagram with other process notations and explain why Y Block diagram is more useful for tool based business processes such as digital map generation processes.

  • BPM에 대한 많은 관심은 표준의 필요성을 제기함과 동시에 제정된 표준의 보급을 위한 적절한 적용방법론을 요구하고 있다. 본 연구는 프로세스 모형화 측면에서 BPMN(Business Process Modeling Notation) 표준을 자사 BPMS 솔루션 개발에 적용하고자 하는 벤더들에게 유용한 적용 방법론을 제공하는 것을 목표로 시각화, 의미론 구현, 호환성 등의 관점에서 4단계의 표준 적용 수준을 정의하고, 각 단계에서의 수행 방법론과 이슈를 기술하였다. 본 연구를 통해 솔루션 벤더들이 자사의 BPMN 표준 적용 수준과 관련된 의사결정을 하는데 있어서 유용한 참조 모델로서 기능할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Chief causes for the development of the dewey decimal classification (듀이 십진분류법의 발전요인)

  • Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) was first published in 1876. Since its first edition it has been revised, on an average, 6 years, and now it has become the widely used library classification system of which the scheme was translated in various languages. The purpose of this study is to find out the chief causes for the development of the DDC. The results of the study can be summarized as follows: 1. It allows materials to be shelved in a relative location as the collection expands. before the DDC was introduced, libraries used a fixed location for materials in which each item was assigned to a certain location set aside for a subject. 2. It is a practical system. The fact that it has survived many storms in the past hundred years and is still the most widely used classification scheme in the world today attests to its practical value. 3. The pure notation of arabic numerals is universally recognizable. People from any cultural or language background can adapt to the system easily. 4. The use of the decimal system enable infinite expansion and sub-division. And it has adaptability for use in libraries of various size and kinds because of its hierarchically expressive notation which permits varying degrees of inclusiveness and exclusiveness within its decimal structure. 5. The notation is simple and easily understood. The self-evident numerical sequence facilitates filing and shelving. And the mnemonic nature of the notation helps the readers to memorize and recognize the class numbers. 6. The relative index brings together different aspects of the same subject scattered in different disciplines. 7. We can avail of DDC numbers for specific titles easily because of its use by many central bibliographic services. 8. It is being continuously revised by a permanent office established in the library of congress in 1933. This office has been responsible for editing all editions of the DDC since the 16th (1958). And the periodic revision at regular intervals ensures the currentness of the scheme. 9. It has adaptability both for conventional (manual) shelf or classed catalogue analysis and also, through its meaningful nation, for retrieval through mechanization and computerized systems.

  • With a remarkable growth and expansion of Internet, the security issues emerged from intrusions and attacks such as computer viruses, denial of services and hackings to destroy information have been considered as serious threats for Internet and the private networks. To protect networks from those attacks, many vendors have developed various security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control systems. However, managing those systems individually requires too much work and high cost. Thus, in order to manage integrated security management and establish consistent security management for various security products, the policy model of PN-ISMS (Policy Based Integrated Security Management System) has become very important. In this paper, present the hierarchical policy model which explore the refinement of high-level/conceptual policies into a number of more specific policies to form a policy hierarchy. A formal method of policy description was used as the basis of the mode in order to achieve precision and generality. Z-Notation was chosen for this propose. The Z-Notation is mathematical notation for expressing and communicating the specifications of computer programs. Z uses conventional notations of logic and set theory organized into expressions called schemas.

Statistical Ranking Recommendation System of Hangul-to-Roman Conversion for Korean Names (한글-로마자 인명 변환의 통계적 순위 추천 시스템)

  • This paper focuses on the Hangul-to-roman conversion of Korean names. The proposed method recognizes existing notation and provides results according to the frequency of use. There are two main reasons for the diversity in Hangul-to-roman name conversion. The first is the indiscreet use of varied notation made domestically and overseas. The second is the customary notation of current notation. For these reasons, it has become possible to express various Roman characters in Korean names. The system constructs and converts data from 4 million people into a statistical dictionary. In the first step, the person's name is judged through a process matching the last name. In the second step, the first name is compared and converted in the statistical dictionary. In the last step, the syllables in the name are compared and converted, and the results are ranked according to the frequency of use. This paper measured the performance compared to the existing service systems on the web. The results showed a somewhat higher performance than other systems.

  • In this thesis, we inquire into teaching method of decimal fraction concept in elementary mathematics education based on measurement activity. For this purpose, our research tasks are as follows: First, we design a experimental learning-teaching plan of 'decimal fraction' unit in 4th grade textbook and verify its effect. Second, after teaching experiment using experimental learning-teaching plan, we analyze the student's status of understanding about decimal fraction concept. As stated above, we have performed teaching experiment which is ruled by new lesson design and analysed the effects of teaching experiment. Through this study, we obtained the following results. First, introduction of decimal fraction based on measurement activity promotes student's understanding of measuring number and decimal notation. Second, operator concept of decimal fraction is widely used in daily life. Its usage is suitable for elementary mathematics education within the decimal notation system. Third, a teaching method of times concepts using place value expansion of decimal fraction is more meaningful and has less possibility of misunderstanding than mechanical shift of decimal point. Fourth, teaching decimal fraction through the decimal expansion helps students with understanding of digit 0 contained in decimal fraction, comparing of size and place value. Fifth, students have difficulties in understanding conversion process of decimal fraction into decimal notation system using measurement activity. It can be done easily when fraction is used. However, that is breach to curriculum. It is necessary to succeed research for this.

  • The closed movement produced vertically on the position of a motor is a notation movement produced by a notation force , while the horizontal movement can be shown by the coriolis force and the transverse force of realizing that the closed movement of the closed system is to be rotation motion. The notation movement is a vertical closed movement and by searching the equation which becomes an equation model, after comparing the simulation data from the equation model with data of a real device to use it into the computer simulation model, the additional variable elements were decided. As the result, the energy imbalance element is added as a variable about load which is relevant to friction coefficient and pole of a motor in the gravitational field. The simulation can be applied as a real physical law of the graphic game and haptic program.
