  • Of concern is the existence, uniqueness, and continuous dependence of a mild solution of a nonlocal Cauchy problem for a semilinear mixed Volterra-Fredholm functional integrodifferential equation. Our analysis is based on the theory of a strongly continuous semigroup of operators and the Banach fixed point theorem.

  • In this paper, we consider a class of noncooperative fourth-order elliptic systems involving nonlocal terms and critical growth in a bounded domain. With the help of Limit Index Theory due to Li [32] combined with the concentration compactness principle, we establish the existence of infinitely many solutions for the problem under the suitable conditions on the nonlinearity. Our results significantly complement and improve some recent results on the existence of solutions for fourth-order elliptic equations and Kirchhoff type problems with critical growth.

  • In this paper, a classical plate model is utilized to formulate the wave propagation problem of magnetostrictive sandwich nanoplates (MSNPs) while subjected to hygrothermal loading with respect to the scale effects. Herein, magnetostriction effect is considered and controlled on the basis of a feedback control system. The nanoplate is supposed to be embedded on a visco-Pasternak substrate. The kinematic relations are derived based on the Kirchhoff plate theory; also, combining these obtained equations with Hamilton's principle, the local equations of motion are achieved. According to a nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT), the small scale influences are covered precisely by introducing two scale coefficients. Afterwards, the nonlocal governing equations can be derived coupling the local equations with those of the NSGT. Applying an analytical solution, the wave frequency and phase velocity of propagated waves can be gathered solving an eigenvalue problem. On the other hand, accuracy and efficiency of presented model is verified by setting a comparison between the obtained results with those of previous published researches. Effects of different variants are plotted in some figures and the highlights are discussed in detail.

  • This paper investigates the vibration phenomenon of a nanobeam subjected to a time-dependent heat flux. Material properties of the nanobeam are assumed to be graded in the thickness direction according to a novel exponential distribution law in terms of the volume fractions of the metal and ceramic constituents. The upper surface of the functionally graded (FG) nanobeam is pure ceramic whereas the lower surface is pure metal. A nonlocal generalized thermoelasticity theory with dual-phase-lag (DPL) model is used to solve this problem. The theories of coupled thermoelasticity, generalized thermoelasticity with one relaxation time, and without energy dissipation can extracted as limited and special cases of the present model. An analytical technique based on Laplace transform is used to calculate the variation of deflection and temperature. The inverse of Laplace transforms are computed numerically using Fourier expansion techniques. The effects of the phase-lags (PLs), nonlocal parameter and the angular frequency of oscillation of the heat flux on the lateral vibration, the temperature, and the axial displacement of the nanobeam are studied.

  • In this paper we consider a class of nonlocal parabolic equations in bounded domains with Dirichlet boundary conditions and a new class of nonlinearities. We first prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions by using the compactness method. Then we study the existence and fractal dimension estimates of the global attractor for the continuous semigroup generated by the problem. We also prove the existence of stationary solutions and give a sufficient condition for the uniqueness and global exponential stability of the stationary solution. The main novelty of the obtained results is that no restriction is imposed on the upper growth of the nonlinearities.

  • The present investigation is concerned with the effect of two temperatures on functionally graded (FG) nanobeams subjected to sinusoidal pulse heating sources. Material properties of the nanobeam are assumed to be graded in the thickness direction according to a novel exponential distribution law in terms of the volume fractions of the metal and ceramic constituents. The upper surface of the FG nanobeam is fully ceramic whereas the lower surface is fully metal. The generalized two-temperature nonlocal theory of thermoelasticity in the context of Lord and Shulman's (LS) model is used to solve this problem. The governing equations are solved in the Laplace transformation domain. The inversion of the Laplace transformation is computed numerically using a method based on Fourier series expansion technique. Some comparisons have been shown to estimate the effects of the nonlocal parameter, the temperature discrepancy and the pulse width of the sinusoidal pulse. Additional results across the thickness of the nanobeam are presented graphically.

  • In this article the frequency response analysis of curved magneto-electro-viscoelastic functionally graded (CMEV-FG) nanobeams resting on viscoelastic foundation has been carried out. To this end, the study incorporates the Euler-Bernoulli beam model in association with Eringen's nonlocal theory to incorporate the size effects. The viscoelastic foundation in the current investigation is assumed to be the combination of Winkler-Pasternak layer and viscous layer of infinite parallel dashpots. The equations of motion are derived with the aid of Hamilton's principle and the solution to vibration problem of CMEV-FG nanobeams are obtained analytically. The material gradation is considered to follow Power-law rule. This study thoroughly investigates the influence of prominent parameters such as linear, shear and viscous layers of foundation, structural damping coefficient, opening angle, magneto-electrical field, nonlocal parameter, power-law exponent and slenderness ratio on the frequencies of FG nanobeams.

  • In this article the frequency response of magneto-flexo-electric rotary porous (MFERP) nanobeams subjected to thermal loads has been investigated through nonlocal strain gradient elasticity theory. A quasi-3D beam model beam theory is used for the expositions of the displacement components. With the aid of Hamilton's principle, the governing equations of MFERP nanobeams are obtained. Further, administrating an analytical solution the frequency problem of MFERP nanobeams are solved. In addition the numerical examples are also provided to evaluate the effect of nonlocal strain gradient parameter, hygro thermo environment, flexoelectric effect, in-plane magnet field, volume fraction of porosity and angular velocity on the dimensionless eigen frequency.

  • Nonlinearity plays an important role in control systems and the application of design. For this reason, in addition to linear vibrations, nonlinear vibrations of the stepped nanobeam are also discussed in this manuscript. This study investigated the vibrations of stepped nanobeams according to Eringen's nonlocal elasticity theory. Eringen's nonlocal elasticity theory was used to capture the nanoscale effect. The nanoscale stepped Euler Bernoulli beam is considered. The equations of motion representing the motion of the beam are found by Hamilton's principle. The equations were subjected to nondimensionalization to make them independent of the dimensions and physical structure of the material. The equations of motion were found using the multi-time scale method, which is one of the approximate solution methods, perturbation methods. The first section of the series obtained from the perturbation solution represents a linear problem. The linear problem's natural frequencies are found for the simple-simple boundary condition. The second-order part of the perturbation solution is the nonlinear terms and is used as corrections to the linear problem. The system's amplitude and phase modulation equations are found in the results part of the problem. Nonlinear frequency-amplitude, and external frequency-amplitude relationships are discussed. The location of the step, the radius ratios of the steps, and the changes of the small-scale parameter of the theory were investigated and their effects on nonlinear vibrations under simple-simple boundary conditions were observed by making comparisons. The results are presented via tables and graphs. The current beam model can assist in designing and fabricating integrated such as nano-sensors and nano-actuators.
