  • In this study, we investigate the unknown time-dependent heat source function in inverse problems. We consider three general nonlocal conditions; two classical boundary conditions and one nonlocal over-determination, condition, these genereate six different cases. The finite integration method (FIM), based on numerical integration, has been adapted to solve PDEs, and we use it to discretize the spatial domain; we use backward differences for the time variable. Since the inverse problem is ill-posed with instability, we apply regularization to reduce the instability. We use the first-order Tikhonov's regularization together with the minimization process to solve the inverse source problem. Test examples in all six cases are presented in order to illustrate the accuracy and stability of the numerical solutions.

  • In this paper, free vibration analysis of a functionally graded cylindrical nanoshell resting on Pasternak foundation is presented based on the nonlocal elasticity theory. A two-dimensional formulation along the axial and radial directions is presented based on the first-order shear deformation shell theory. Hamilton's principle is employed for derivation of the governing equations of motion. The solution to formulated boundary value problem is obtained based on a harmonic solution and trigonometric functions for various boundary conditions. The numerical results show influence of significant parameters such as small scale parameter, stiffness of Pasternak foundation, mode number, various boundary conditions, and selected dimensionless geometric parameters on natural frequencies of nanoshell.

  • This paper infer the transient vibration of piezoelectric sandwich nanobeams, In present work, the flexoelectric effect on the mechanical properties of vibration piezoelectric sandwich nanobeam with different boundary conditions is investigated. According to the Nonlocal elasticity theory in nanostructures, the flexoelectricity is believed to be authentic for such size-dependent properties. The governing equations are derived by Hamilton's principle and boundary condition solved by Galerkin-based solution. This research develops a nonlocal flexoelectric sandwich nanobeam supported by Winkler-Pasternak foundation. The results of this work indicate that natural frequencies of a sandwich nanobeam increase by increasing the Winkler and Pasternak elastic constant. Also, increasing the nonlocal parameter at a constant length decreases the natural frequencies. By increasing the length to thickness ratio (L/h) of nanobeam, the nonlocal frequencies reduce.

  • In this study, an estimation regarding nonlocal shell model based on wave propagation approach has been considered for vibrational behavior of the double walled carbon nanotubes with distinct nonlocal parameters. Vibrations of double walled carbon nanotubes for chiral indices (8, 3) have been analyzed. The significance of small scale is being perceived by developing nonlocal Love shell model. The influence of changing mechanical parameter Poisson's ratio has been investigated in detail. The dominance of boundary conditions via nonlocal parameter is shown graphically. It is found that on increasing the Poisson's ratio, the frequencies increases. It is noted that the frequencies of clamped-clamped frequencies are higher than that of simply-supported and clamped-free edge conditions. The outcomes of frequencies are tested with earlier computations.

  • This article aims to investigate the size dependent bending behavior of perforated nanobeams incorporating the nonlocal and the microstructure effects based on the nonlocal strain gradient elasticity theory (NSGET). Shear deformation effect due to cutout process is studied by using Timoshenko beams theory. Closed formulas for the equivalent geometrical characteristics of regularly squared cutout shape are derived. The governing equations of motion considering the nonlocal and microstructure effects are derived in comprehensive procedure and nonclassical boundary conditions are presented. Analytical solution for the governing equations of motion is derived. The derived non-classical analytical solutions are verified by comparing the obtained results with the available results in the literature and good agreement is observed. Numerical results are obtained and discussed. Parametric studies are conducted to explore effects of perforation characteristics, the nonclassical material parameters, beam slenderness ratio as well as the boundary and loading conditions on the non-classical transverse bending behavior of cutout nanobeams. Results obtained are supportive for the design, analysis and manufacturing of such nanosized structural system.

  • In this paper, the free and forced vibration analysis of rotating cantilever nanoscale cylindrical beams and tubes is investigated under the external dynamic load to examine the nonlocal effect. A couple of nonlocal strain gradient theories with different beams and tubes theories, involving the Euler-Bernoulli, Timoshenko, Reddy beam theory along with the higher-order tube theory, are assumed to the mathematic model of governing equations employing the Hamilton principle in order to derive the nonlocal governing equations related to the local and accurate nonlocal boundary conditions. The two-dimensional functional graded material (2D-FGM), made by the axially functionally graded (AFG) in conjunction with the porosity distribution in the radial direction, is considered material modeling. Finally, the derived Partial Differential Equations (PDE) are solved via a couple of the generalized differential quadrature element methods (GDQEM) with the Newmark-beta techniques for the time-dependent results. It is indicated that the boundary conditions equations play a crucial task in responding to nonlocal effects for the cantilever structures.

  • This article focuses on the study of the buckling behavior of two-dimensional functionally graded (2D-FG) nanosize tubes, including porosity, based on the first shear deformation and higher-order theory of the tube. The nano-scale tube is simulated using the nonlocal gradient strain theory, and the general equations and boundary conditions are derived using Hamilton's principle for the Zhang-Fu's tube model (as a higher-order theory) and Timoshenko beam theory. Finally, the derived equations are solved using a numerical method for both simply-supported and clamped boundary conditions. A parametric study is performed to investigate the effects of different parameters, such as axial and radial FG power indices, porosity parameter, and nonlocal gradient strain parameters, on the buckling behavior of the bi-dimensional functionally graded porous tube. • The current study deals with the size-dependent free vibration analysis of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) reinforced polymer nanocomposite plates resting on Pasternak elastic foundation containing different boundary conditions. Based on a four variable refined shear deformation plate theory, which considers shear deformation effect, in conjunction with the Eringen nonlocal elasticity theory, which contains size-dependency inside nanostructures, the equations of motion are established through Hamilton's principle. Moreover, the effective material properties are estimated via the Halpin-Tsai model as well as the rule of mixture. Galerkin's mathematical formulation is utilized to solve the equations of motion for the vibrational problem with different boundary conditions. Parametrical examples demonstrate the influences of nonlocal parameter, total number of layers, weight fraction and geometry of GNPs, elastic foundation parameter, and boundary conditions on the frequency characteristic of the GNPs reinforced nanoplates in detail.

  • In this article, hygro-thermo-mechanical vibration and buckling of exponentially graded (EG) nanoplates resting on two-parameter Pasternak foundations are studied using the four-unknown shear deformation plate theory. The material properties are presumed to change only in the thickness direction of the EG nanoplate according to two exponential laws distribution. The boundary conditions of the nanoplate may be simply supported, clamped, free or combination of them. To consider the small scale effect on forced frequencies and buckling, Eringen's differential form of nonlocal elasticity theory is employed. The accuracy of the present study is investigated considering the available solutions in literature. A detailed analysis is executed to study the influences of the plate aspect ratio, side-to-thickness ratio, temperature rise, moisture concentration and volume fraction distributions on the vibration and buckling of the nanoplates.
