This paper deals with the estimation of the bond stress based on experimental data that were tensed by axial force on both sides. It is certificated that the concrete stress condition clearly affects the bond-slip relationship. The proposed method utilizes the conventional bond-slip theories as well as the characteristics of deformed reinforcement and concrete cross-sectional area. An analytical equation for the estimation of the bond stress is formulated as the function of non-dimensional factors (e.g. bond stress, relative slip, etc.). The validity, accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method are established by comparing the analytical results with the experimental data of Ikki (1996, 1999) and the representative bond stress equations of Shima (1987). The analytical results presented in this paper indicate that the proposed method can be effectively estimated the bond stress-relative slip relationship.

The study of our investigating and analyzing through experiments the performance on nonslip techniques, which has been nationally applied and represented, showed the following results. 1) In wearing shoes condition, regardless the shape of the surface and surface condition of the object, it satisfied the performance standard in cleaned and dried condition and the pulverulent body mixed liquid dispersed moisture condition. However, for the case of the non-slip agent treatment, not likely as the non-slip tape treatment case, the effect was not approved as it shows almost the same CSR as none treatment. 2) In bare foot condition, it satisfied the performance standard in most of the objects except for the Ceramic tile (A), Ceramic tile (B), pure and soapy water dispersed condition.
Recently, the electric vehicle market is gradually growing due to strengthened environmental regulations and high oil prices. also, in internal combustion engine vehicles, the sensitivity of Buzz, Squeak, Rattle (BSR) noise is increasing as engine Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH)-related noise is reduced and technology for shielding noise coming from outside is developed. In this study, the stick-slip noise that occurs in Panoramic Curved Display (PCD) of automobile was analyzed for the correlation between the surface energy of polymer plastic and the polar component. For polar polymer materials, Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and PolyCarbonate-Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (PC-ABS), compound materials were fabricated and evaluated. As a result, when the polar component of the polymer plastic was 3.86 mN/m or higher, stick-slip motion occurred, and as the absolute transition slope increased in the friction behavior over time, the possibility of stick-slip noise increased and the value of the friction coefficient The greater the difference, the greater the strength of the stick-slip noise.

In this study, in order to develop an non-slip metal grating, the stability of the grating according to the span of the grating and the gap and height of the bearing bar was evaluated. The optimal shape design of the grating was performed using the results of determining the stability of the grating. The purpose of this study is to determine the stability according to the spacing and height of the bearing bar by applying the design pressure at the design stage to develop the anti-skid grating, and to design the optimal shape for cost reduction. In the optimal design, the target variable was set as the mass, and the optimal design of the grating was performed based on about 20%. Regardless of the height of the bearing bar of the grating, the stress and deformation of the span and the grating showed a proportional tendency to each other, and it was found that the stress decreased as the height of the bearing bar increased. Based on the structural analysis results, an optimal design was performed using mass as the objective variable, and the existing 2mm thickness was changed to 1.6mm, reducing the mass by about 19%. The stress increased by about 4.4% compared to the maximum stress of the existing grating, but the minimum safety factor was 3.1, indicating that the optimally designed grating was stable.

There are many examples of steel structures subjected to severe environmental conditions with bolted connections directly exposed to extreme climatic agents such as freeze-thaw cycles or low temperatures. Some examples are: steel bridges, mining transfer towers, wind towers... These service conditions neither are included in Eurocode 3 or EN1090-2, nor there are references in other international standards. In this experimental research, 46 specimens of non-slip joints with HV M20 bolts and four different types of contact surfaces have been studied. Half of the specimens were subjected to fourteen twelve-hours freeze-thaw cycles, with periodic immersion in water and temperature oscillation. Subsequently, half of the connections were subjected to a slip test under monotonic load at temperature of -20 ± 0.5 ℃ and the other half at room temperature. The results were compared with others equal joints not subjected to freeze-thaw cycles and kept at room temperature for the same time. This finally resulted in 4 sets of joints by combining the freeze-thaw degradation or not with the low-temperature conditions or not in the slip testing. Therefore, a total of 16 different conditions were studied by also considering 4 different contact surfaces between the joined plates in each set. The results obtained show influence of environmental conditions on the slip resistant capacity of these joints.

The present study investigates the effects of Cattaneo-Christov thermal effects of stagnation point in Walters-B nanofluid flow through lubrication of power-law fluid by taking the slip at the interfacial condition. For the solution, the governing partial differential equation is transformed into a series of non-linear ordinary differential equations. With the help of hybrid homotopy analysis method; that consists of both the homotopy analysis and shooting method these equations can be solved. The influence of different involved constraints on quantities of interest are sketched and discussed. The viscoelastic parameter, slip parameters on velocity component and temperature are analyzed. The velocity varies by increase in viscoelastic parameter in the presence of slip parameter. The slip on the surface has major effect and mask the effect of stagnation point for whole slip condition and throughout the surface velocity remained same. Matched the present solution with previously published data and observed good agreement. It can be seen that the slip effects dominates the effects of free stream and for the large values of viscoelastic parameter the temperature as well as the concentration profile both decreases.

The steady hydromagnetic flow of an electrically conducting non-Newtonian fluid due to the rotation of an infinite disk is studied with heat transfer with the inclusion of the ion slip as well as Ohmic heating. The governing nonlinear momentum equations and energy equations are solved using the finite difference method. The numerical results indicate the important effect of the ion slip and the non-Newtonian fluid characteristics on the velocity and temperature distributions.

A numerical model to simulate bond-slip behavior of composite beam bridges is introduced in this paper. Assuming a linear bond stress-slip relation along the interface between the slab and girder, the slip behavior is implemented into a finite element formulation. Adopting the introduced model, the slip behavior can be taken account even in a beam element which is composed of both end nodes only. Governing equation of the slip behavior, based on the linear partial interaction theory, can be determined from the force equilibrium and a constant curvature distribution across the section of a composite beam. Since the governing equation for the slip behavior requires the moment values at both end nodes, the piecewise linear distribution of the constant bending moment in an element is assumed. Analysis results by the model are compared with numerical results and experimental values, and load-displacement relations of composite beams were then evaluated to verify the validity of the proposed model.

This paper proposes slip line fields for bending of unequally notched specimens in plane strain that have a sharp crack in one side and a sharp V-notch in the other side. Depending on the back angle, two slip line fields are proposed, from which the limit moment and crack tip stress fields are obtained as a function of the back angle. Excellent agreement between slip line field solutions with those from detailed finite element limit analysis based on non-hardening plasticity provides confidence in the proposed slip line fields. One interesting point is that, for the unequally notched specimen, the difference between the crack tip triaxial stress for tension and that for bending increases significantly with increasing the back angle. This suggests that such a specimen could be potentially useful to investigate the crack tip constraint effect on fracture toughness of materials. In this respect, the possibility of designing a new toughness testing specimen with varying crack tip constraint is discussed.

In this paper, a simulator hardware and control design for an electronic parking brake (EPB) are proposed for emergency vehicle braking when the hydraulic break and anti-lock brake systems (ABS) fail to function. EPB systems are designed specifically for park braking and are usually installed on the rear wheels. However, in an emergency situation when all vehicle brake systems fail, the EPB can be utilized to stop the vehicle and track the target slip ratio as the ABS. This paper analyzed the non-linear EBP of the type of motor on caliper (MoC) based on experiments. A simulator hardware is also designed to validate the performance of the designed EPB controller in terms of braking distance and performance in tracking the target slip ratio. Through the experimental analysis, it is confirmed that a sliding mode controller can be applied on a non-linear EPB to track the target slip ratio.
