In this research, it was analyzed that the effect of the non-point source pollution that occurs in the lower reaches of the livestock area. The analysis on the hydro- and polluto-graphs showed that the concentration of pollution gradually increased as the flow rate increased and, after reaching the peak flow rate, the flow rate dropped drastically. For Event Mean Concentration (EMC), in the lower reaches of livestock area, TSS EMC was 146.80~424.95 mg/L, COD EMC 11.64~55.66 mg/L, BOD EMC 6.66~49.88 mg/L, T-N EMC 7.650~43.825 mg/L and T-P EMC 0.711~3.855 mg/L. According to the results of the analysis on the correlations between pollutants, TSS and BOD, COD, T-N and T-P had correlations at a 0.53~0.95 confidence level. In addition, according to the result of the analysis on the correlations between EMC (mg/L) and storm runoff ($m^3$), the correlation was well explained by a Cubic regression. In addition, among the determination coefficients, TSS and T-N were relatively high, at 0.767~0.835 and 0.773~0.901 respectively, which indicates that EMC goes up as the storm runoff increases. Therefore, it is expected that EMC can be forecasted according to the amount of runoff ($m^3$). The results of this research will be a practical information for the assessment of the non-point source pollution that occurs in the lower reaches of the livestock area.

This study was conducted to describe the characteristics of Non-point source (NPS) Pollution discharge from a coal mining area in Korea. The study areas is located on the Dogye site, Samchuk, Kangwon Province Coal Corporation and the Jangsung site, Taebaek, Kangwon Province Coal Corporation. The monitoring system was installed at a drainage channel and water samples and rainfall events were collected during March 2008 to February 2009. The collected water samples were analyzed with respect to SS, BOD, $COD_{Cr}$, $COD_{Mn}$, T-N, T-P, and TOC, respectively. It was observed that the runoff and water quality were largely influenced by mine drainage. Also a significant relationship was observed from the correlation between flow and water quality, flow and NPS. And estimated Event Mean Concentration (EMC), NPS pollution loads were Dogey coal mine and Taeback coal mine respectively. As the study progresses in the future, runoff and pollution loads will be updated.
The objective of this study was to investigate non-point sources (NPS) pollution and prioritize management areas affected by NPS pollution in the Saemangeum Watershed. AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) technique was selected to prioritize sub-watersheds for effectively managing NPS pollution in this study areas. Generation properties of NPS pollution, discharge properties of NPS pollution, and runoff properties of NPS pollution were selected and set for AHP. Weighted descriptors including indicators like numbers of livestock, land- and livestock-system loads, rainfall, and impervious area ratio were generalized from 0 to 1 and multiply each index based on screened 17 survey data. The results were visualized as maps which enable resource managers to identify sub-watersheds for effective improving water quality. The sub-watersheds located in Gongdeok-Myeon, Yongji-Myeon, Hwangsan-Myeon of Gimje-Si were selected for managing NPS pollution control areas. This result presented that these sub-watershed are more affected by the pollution from livestock-system than from land-system. The finding from this study can be used to screen sub-watersheds that need further assessment by managers and decision-makers within the study area.

A sensitivity analysis study was performed to examine the effects of cell size on a distributed non-point source pollution model. The model, AnnAGNPS, whiff is a modified version of USDA's AGNPS, was applied to Eung stream watershed, a tributary of Cheongmi stream located in the South Branch of Han River System. The model components and results, such as channel length, slope, land use, and delivery ratio, were analyzed according to the various cell sizes from 10 to 200 ha. As cell sire increases, channel length decreases due to short-circuiting of meandering creek. The decreased channel length has more significant effects on the model results than any other geomorphological change. When the effects of land use and soil distribution are excluded, sediment delivery loads increase due to shorter time to reach the outlet of the watershed in larger tell size. When those effects are included, however, sediment delivery loads decrease in larger fell size because the variety of land use types can not be inputted. The predominant land use in the applied watershed is forest with very low soil erosion such that the predicted sediment delivery might be much lower than real system. The cell size of 30 ha was determined to produce the most appropriate resolution. Surface runoff and non-point source loads of TN, TP and BOD were predicted and the results agree well with the field measurements. From this study, it was shown that the model results would be very dependent on variations of topography, land use, and soil distribution, as a function of cell size, and the optimum cell size is very important for successful application of distributed non-point source pollution model.

Lake Doam watershed was surveyed to evaluate non-point source discharge characteristics and discharge load including several water quality parameters in Song Stream from July 2009 to July 2011. Concentrations of water pollutants were high during the rainfall period, especially, SS, TP and COD showed increasing tendencies toward cumulative water discharge but TN did not show much difference. SS, TP and COD had an initial flush effect of over 50 mm rainfall event but there was no clear tendency for rainfalls below that level. Event mean concentration (EMC) regarding the rainy and dry period showed large differences. Especially rainy season EMC (SS, TP, COD) demonstrated an increasingly high tendency. EMCs of COD, SS, TN and TP measured for twelve rain events were as high as 26.1, 866.0, 4.68 and 0.605 mg $L^{-1}$, respectively. COD, SS, TN and TP loadings from the highland agricultural region of the Song Stream watershed were 34,263, 1,250,254, 2,673 and 933 kg $yr^{-1}\;km^{-2}$, respectively, which were relatively higher than the results of other stream systems. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that long-term monitoring and non-point pollution reduction programs for the highland agricultural area to continue. Furthermore, this non-point source pollution loading research acquired from the highland agricultural area could be the base for reassessment.

The sources of the pollution on a river are divided into two classes, one the point source and the other non-point source. In raining, especially, the non-point source discharged from paddy, residential area, road ${\cdots}$ etc have correlations with the land use. This study was carried out to find out the model to estimate the quality of water in a river according to the land use. Land use data (Pungse-Myeoun and Kwangduk-Myeoun in Chonan) were produced from Landsat TM (Thematic Mapper) and topographic map. Total nitrogen(TN) and total phosphorus(TP) general indices for the degree of pollution in river were measured during 11 months. Correlations between two variables(Land use and Pollutants(TN, TP)) were explained by the regression coefficient. As a result of this study, we found that among the five types of land use, the residential area, store area and paddy have significant effects upon the quality of water in a river. The results of this study will be applied to pre-estimate the degree of pollution in river broadly and to offer basic data in establishing the land use plan and the concept on the conservation of the river in rural area.

After execute quantitative analysis that choose station and compose floodgate quality of water net and use floodgate data and quality of water data analysis target Sign of the cock as 1 dimension access for Non-point pollution source pollution and estimate of Gaeuncheon's at Kyongsangbukdo report to the Throne in this research, presented parameter conclusion notation model (AGNPS) in real condition of our agricultural area through comparison with spot value and result is as following in reply. With result observation and analysis result of the AGNPS model the comparison which it will pay from the hazard which it analyzes 2005, the rainfall thought which is used in the analysis to select 8 heavy rain thoughts 2005 July - is data until of September. Actual amount of rainfall 6.0~195.0 mm one time the antecedent precipitation showed API5 case 0.0~507.0mm and were observed peak flows (Qpeak) each from the P-1 $0.026m^3/sec{\sim}9.265m^3/sec$, from the P-2 $0.010m^3/sec-2.747m^3/sec$ and from the P-3c $0.064m^3/sec-13.482m^3/sec$ to show. Also amendment AMC condition it will be cool and it uses and the AGNPS model conference the result which it occurs, analysis and regression analysis of actual flow for as 0.992 very the possibility of getting the result which is good there was a decisive coefficient which is cool. But the gun is (T-P) with the total nitrogen (T-N) decisive coefficient each as 0.794 and 0.849 the presumption which is reliability generally will pay and with the fact that it will be the possibility of getting it is judged.
This study aims to investigate the effect of vegetation type, length of vegetative filter strip, and rainfall on trapping efficiency of the non-point source water pollution. Numerical experiments are carried out using VFSMOD-w. It is known from this study that the vegetation having the same value of revised Manning roughness coefficient shows the similar trapping efficiency in VFSMOD-w. When the length of vegetative filter strip increases twice, the trapping efficiency increases negligibly small under the same condition of rainfall. From this finding, it is also known that most of sediment are removed within a certain length of vegetative filter strips. It is concluded that the installation of vegetative filter strip is determined under the consideration of the rainfall characteristics, space of vegetation, and length of vegetative filter strip.

The objective of this research was to develop a relational database management system(RDBMS) to collect, manage and analyze data on agricultural non-point source(NPS) pollution. The system consists of the relational database for agricultural NPS data and data process modules. The data process modules were composed of four sub-modules for data input, management, analysis, and output. The data collected from the watershed of the upper Cheongmi stream and Geunsam-Ri were used in this study. The database was constructed using Apache Derby with meteorological, hydrological, water quality, and soil characteristics. Agricultural NPS-Data Management System(ANPS-DMS) was developed using Oracle Java. The system developed in this study can deal with a variety of agricultural NPS data and is expected to provide an appropriate data management tool for agricultural NPS studies.

This research was conducted to analyze removal efficiencies of non-point pollution source (NPS) in low impact development (LID) facilities with vegetation. In this research, removal efficiencies of NPS were calculated using rainfall monitoring data for 5 years in grassed swale (GS) and vegetative filter strip (VFS). TSS was greater than other pollutants, and it ranged 11.9 ~ 351.7 mg/L in GS and 12.8 ~ 350.7 mg/L in VFS. Outflow EMCs were reduced than inflow EMCs, overall removal efficiencies of NPS were 67 ~ 86% in GS and 63 ~ 91% in VFS. 50 % reduction efficiency of rainfall runoff was observed between inflow and outflow in each LID facility. TSS removal efficiency in GS and VFS was correlated with rainfall characteristics. The rainfall for TSS removal efficiency over 50% was determined about 31 mm, 34 mm and average rainfall intensity was 3.0 mm/hr, 3.9 mm/hr in GS and VFS. Therefore, GS and VFS were regarded effective LID facilities as removal of pollutants and rainfall runoff. Also, this research result can be used as an important data for management of NPS.
