In this study, we propose this new algorithm that generates score function in ICA(Independent Component Analysis) using entropy theory. To generate score function, estimation of probability density function about original signals are certainly necessary and density function should be differentiated. Therefore, we used kernel density estimation method in order to derive differential equation of score function by original signal. After changing formula to convolution form to increase speed of density estimation, we used FFT algorithm that can calculate convolution faster. Proposed score function generation method reduces the errors, it is density difference of recovered signals and originals signals. In the result of computer simulation, we estimate density function more similar to original signals compared with Extended Infomax and Fixed Point ICA in blind source separation problem and get improved performance at the SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) between recovered signals and original signal.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the Pi-SAR data for land cover discrimination using a standard method. For this purpose, the original polarization and Pauli components of the Pi-SAR X-band and L-band data are used and the results are compared. As a method for the land cover discrimination, the traditional method of statistical maximum likelihood decision rule is selected. To increase the accuracy of the classification result, different spatial thresholds based on local knowledge are determined and used for the actual classification process. Moreover, to reduce the speckle noise and increase the spatial homogeneity of different classes of objects, a speckle suppression filter is applied to the original Pi-SAR data before applying the classification decision rule. Overall, the research indicated that the original Pi-SAR polarization components can be successfully used for separation of different land cover types without taking taking special polarization transformations.

In many machines handling lightweight and flexible media, such as magnetic tape drives, xerographic copiers and sewing machines, the media must transit an open space. It is important to predict the static and dynamic behavior of the sheets with a high degree of reliability. The nonlinear theory of the dynamic elastica has often been used to a nonlinear dynamic deflection model. In this paper, the governing equation is derived and simulated by the finite difference method. The parametric cubic curve is applied for defining the guide shape. The dynamic contact conditions suggested by Klarbring is used to predict the direction of the flexible media according to the initial velocity and the friction coefficient. The analysis is also compared to the conventional model, showing that after contacting a $45^{\circ}$ wall, the directions of flexible media of two models are different.

Backlashes of gears provide gears for good lubrication and for removal of the interference between teeth by the wear and manufacturing errors. The backlash is the strong nonlinear factor to gears. This study deals with nonlinear modeling of helical gears with backlash. Excitation of helical gears comes from torque variation, the tooth surface error, and the periodical change of mesh stiffness. To study the effect of torque fluctuation, equation of motion for the single degree of freedom torsional model of helical gears with the periodical change of mesh stiffness and the backlash was derived. The Newmark beta method and the Newton-Raphson method were used to obtain the nonlinear behaviors of mesh forces of helical gears. All excitation frequencies initially caused the tooth separation and single-sided impacts of the gear pair and eventually led to the normal tooth contact. However, some special excitation frequencies caused the single-sided impacts in the entire time as well as the initial time. Damping increase reduced the duration of single-sided impacts, and the backlash increase caused those in the entire time domain.
During artillery fire, an excessive level of impulse noise propagating in the form of a storm wave is generated. Since the sound of impact from the fire affects the stability of the surrounding structures, the artillery and the structures must be separated from each other by the proper distance to avoid damages from friendly fire. However, if they have already been built within the distance, it is possible to prevent the damages by building sound barriers between them. In this study, the proper separation distance between the artillery and the structure was calculated, and the insertion losses due to various heights and shapes of the sound barrier were simulated by using the BEM(Boundary Element Method), and conclusively the optimal sound barrier was selected.

In realization of wireless home network system using speech recognition in indoor voice recognition environment, background noise and reverberation are two main causes of digression in voice recognition system. In this study, the home network system resistant to reverberation and background noise using voice section detection method based on spectral entropy in indoor recognition environment is to be realized. Spectral subtraction can reduce the effect of reverberation and remove noise independent from voice signal by eliminating signal distorted by reverberation in spectrum. For effective spectral subtraction, the correct separation of voice section and silent section should be accompanied and for this, improvement of performance needs to be done, applying to voice section detection method based on entropy. In this study, experimental and indoor environment testing is carried out to figure out command recognition rate in indoor recognition environment. The test result shows that command recognition rate improved in static environment and reverberant room condition, using voice section detection method based on spectral entropy.

A rotordynamic analysis was performed with a decant-type centrifuge, which is a kind of industrial centrifuge. The system is composed of screw rotor, bowl rotor, driving motors, gear box, and support rolling element bearings. These rotors have a rated speed of 4300 rpm, and were modeled utilizing a rotordynamic FE method for analysis, which was verified through 3-D FE analysis. Design goals are to achieve wide separation margins of lateral critical speeds, and favorable unbalance responses of the rotor in the operating range. Then, a complex analysis rotordynamic analysis of the system was carried out to evaluate its forward synchronous critical speeds and mode shapes, whirl natural frequencies, and unbalance responses under various balance grade. As a result of analysis, the rotordynamic analysis performed by separating a screw rotor and bowl rotor may cause an error in predicting critical speed of entire system. Therefore, the rotordynamic analysis of a coupled rotor combining a screw and bowl rotor must be performed in order to more accurately estimate dynamic characteristics of the decanter-type centrifuge as presented in this paper. Also, rolling element bearings with suitable stiffness should be selected to keep enough separation margin. In addition, in establishing balance grade of a screw and bowl rotor, ISO G2.5 balance grade is more recommended than ISO G6.3, in particular balancing correction of a screw rotor based on ISO G2.5 grade is strongly recommended.
In this paper, we present a speech enhancement method as a pre-processor for voice commander under car environment. For the friendly and safe use of voice commander in a running car, non-stationary audio signals such as music and non-candidate speech should be reduced. Ow technique is a two microphone-based one. It consists of two parts Blind Source Separation (BSS) and Kalman filtering. Firstly, BSS is operated as a spatial filter to deal with non-stationary signals and then car noise is reduced by kalman filtering as a temporal filter. Algorithm Performance is tested for speech recognition. And the results show that our two microphone-based technique can be a good candidate to a voice commander.
A rotordynamic analysis is performed with a centrifuge rotor-bearing system for the raing speed of 100,000 rpm. The system is composed of a centrifuge rotor(or simply the rotor), flexible shaft, motor rotor and shaft, and two support rolling element bearings of the motor shaft. Design goals are to achieve wide separation margins of critical speeds and favorable unbalance responses of the rotor at the associated critical speeds. The latter requirements are especially important as the system crosses multiple numbers of critical speeds and as the system may not have enough separaton margins around the rating speed. As the system adopts an extra-flexible shaft, it is shown that the rotor has satisfactory small unbalance responses over higher criticals while having an unsatisfactory large one at the first critical. To supress this a bumper ring or guide bearing needs to be installed at a suitable location of the flexible shaft. It is also shown that even with the flexible shaft the dynamics of the motor must be incoporated into the full system model to accurately identify the fourth critical speed, which is close to the rating speed, and higher ones. The analysis is based on the finite element method.
Variable iron loss as function of current phase angle of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) was calculated through Curve Fitting Method(CFM). Also, a magnetic flux density distribution of iron core according to current phase angle was analyzed, and an iron loss calculation was performed including harmonic distortion. The experiment was performed by production of non-magnetizing model for the separation of mechanical loss, and the iron loss was calculated by the measurement of input using power analyzer and output power using dynamometer. Some error was generated between experimental results and calculation value, but an iron loss diminution according to current phase angle followed a same pattern. So, errors were generated by measurement, vibration, noise, harmonic distortion loss, etc.
