  • Digital holographic reconstruction method [W. A. Veronesi, et al, 1989, JASA, Vol. 85, pp. 588∼598] reconstructs a whole sound field by using measured sound pressure. This paper reports numerical errors of the method that occur at specific frequencies. The errors occur due to the truncation errors included in the calculation of transfer matrixes. The frequencies of the errors depend on the size of boundary element surfaces. Moreover, a modified calculation technique is proposed in the paper. The technique prevents the truncation errors by employing an indirect calculation procedure.

  • Generation of hole-tones and the instability of circular impinging jets are investigated based on the frequency characteristics and the radiated sound field. The experiment is carried out with varying hole sizes, jet speeds and impinging distances. It is found that hole-tones occur by both the low-speed laminar jet and the high-speed turbulent jet, but not by the transient jet, while plate-tones without holes are produced only in the high-speed turbulent impinging jet. When the diameter ratio of the hole to the nozzle is nearly one, hole-tones occur most easily. At low speed, it is found that hole-tones are due to the symmetrical unstable jet and the impinging distance decreases with jet speed. And the Strouhal number and the sound pressure level increase with jet speed. At high speed, hole-tones show the same characteristics as plate-tones. It is found that the ratio of the convection speed varies with the Strouhal number and the jet speed.

  • Low frequency noises (up to about 200 Hz) mainly occur due to particular modes, resulting in booming noises, and in general the solutions may be found based on mode controls where conventional methods such as FEM can be used. However, at higher frequencies between 0.3~ 1 kHz, as the number of modes rapidly increase, radiation characteristics from structures, performances of damping sheets and sound packages may be more crucial rather than particular modes, and consequently the conventional FEM may be less practical in dealing with this kinds of structure-borne problems. In this context, so-called 'mid-frequency simulation model' based on FE-SEA hybrid method is studied and validated. Energy Transmission loss (i.e. air borne noise) is also studied. A dash panel component is chosen for this study, which is an important path that transfers both structure-borne and air borne energies into the cavity. Design modifications including structural modifications, attachment of damping sheets and application of different sound packages are taken into account and the corresponding noise characteristics are experimentally identified. It is found that the dash member behaves as a noise path. The damping sheet or sound packages have similar influences on both sound radiation and transmission loss. The comparison between experiments and simulations shows that this model could be used to predict the tendency of noise improvement.

  • It is possible to do not use the Image Plate for a long time in the clinic. for the acquisition of reliable images the decommissioning process is very important. In this study, we would like to look at complex noises that may occur during Image Plate use depending on the frequency and time of day. first, we got the image from computer radiography. second, We calculate the noise changes using Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR) and Noise Power Spectrum(NPS). finally, we suggest that remove the noise from the IP for more than 4 hours. and It turned out to be better to remove the noise more than once. this study will be a quantitative reference for Image Plate management and use in the clinical trial.

  • Nowadays there is a trend to apply the diffusion equation to image Processing. The anisotropic diffusion equation is highly favoured as a noise removal algorithm because it can remove noise while enhancing edges. However if the two dimensional anisotropic diffusion equation is applied to the noise removal of video sequences, flickering artifact due to the luminance difference between frames and ghost artifact due to the interfiltering between frames occur. In this paper the two dimensional anisotropic diffusion equation is extended to the sequence axis. The Proposed three dimensional anisotropic diffusion equation removes noise more efficiently than the two dimensional equation, and furthermore removes the flickering and ghost artifact as well.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose ways to remove false color noise (FCN) generated during de-mosaicing on RGB Bayer pattern images. In case of images sensors adapting Bayer pattern color filters array (CFA), de-mosaicing is conducted to recover the RGB color data in single pixels. Here, FCN phenomena would occur where there is clearer silhouette or contrast of colors. The FCN phenomena found during de-mosaicking process appears locally in the edges inside the image and the proposed method of eliminating this is to convert RGB color space to YCbCr space to conduct smoothing process. Moreover, for edges where different colors come together, censoring based smoothing technique is proposed as a way to minimize color blurring effect.

  • In this study, the modal analysis is adopted for the investigation of vibratory characteristics of a rolling stock. A governing equation for this system is deverived on a condition that the rolling stock is in proportional viscous damping and proportional hysteretic damping. By applying this method a computational modal analysis software is developed. The validity and reliability of this method is verified by comparing the results for the above case and with those of a system having proportional viscous damping and a system having general viscous damping. A system that has non-linearity, an error from the calculation may occur in the analysis. In this case, we applied the piecewise linear method to estimate the modal parameters.

  • In this paper, vibration sources of an electric forklift are identified and the forklift vibrations are reduced by structural modification by using the finite element analysis. From some experiments, it is also found that resonances occur because the natural frequencies of the forklift exist in usual driving speed range. To vibration sources of the electric forklift, the modeling is designed by using a commercial 3D CAD program CATIA and the finite element model is designed by a using finite element analysis program ANSYS which can perform modal analysis of flexible mode. To shift the natural frequencies out side the driving speed range, the frame part, the connection parts between main body and loader are modified to increase stiffness. It is verified that considerable amount of vibration are reduced by the structural modification.

  • The vibration analysis is necessary at the design stage to improve crew's life on board and to prevent the vibration troubles of the hull structures and main machineries prior to the construction. Especially, if high vibration problems occur on the global structures like the hull girder and the deckhouse after construction, it takes lots of time, labor and cost to cure them and thus accurate analysis of global vibration should be performed from the design stage. In this study, some factors for the global vibration analysis have been investigated and the way to be applied to the analysis has been suggested.

  • In this paper, vibration sources of the BLOC motor are identified and the motor vibrations are reduced by structural modification. For vibration characteristic identification, vibration signals measured by an accelerometer when the BLOC motor is moving. These signals are presented in a waterfall plot in order to find the dependency of frequency components on the motor speed. It is found that main vibration source is BLOC motor test rig. From finite element analyses and some experiments, it is also found that resonances occur because the natural frequencies of the test rig exist in usual driving speed rang. To shift the natural frequencies outside the driving rang, the test rig is modified increase stiffness. It is verified that considerable amount of vibration are reduced by the structural modification.
