  • Modeling and verification for stability analysis of axially oscillating cantilever beams are investigated in this paper Equations of motion for the axially oscillating beams are derived and transformed into dimensionless forms. The equations include harmonically oscillating parameters which are related to the motion-induced stiffness variation. stability diagram is obtained by using the multiple scale perturbation method. To verify the accuracy of the modeling method, several points in the plane of the stability diagram are presented and solved. The present modeling method proves to be as accurate as a nonlinear finite element modeling method.

  • In this study, a modeling process of a 3-axis planar alignment stage is suggested. Vibration tests using a laser vibro-meter is performed to find the modeling parameters of the stage. By analyzing the result of the test, the stiffness of prismatic joints and revolute joints, as well as the contact conditions of the thrust bearings, can be calculated. The modeling of the stage was validated by comparing six normal mode shapes, which are acquired from experiments and simulations.

  • Recently, the noise environmental issue in compound residential areas like apartments becomes a very critical factor fer the building designers. In order to satisfy the customer need to live in a quiet environment, several interior structures for buildings are being introduced. The multi-layered composite floor plate is one of them. This structure is designed to prevent the noise generated by an object collision. (omitted)

  • In this Paper, we present a new nonlinear active noise control scheme using neural networks. Two neural network4 are used, one is for the active controller and another one is for the secondary path model. This scheme is suitable for the plant which has time-varing secondary path dynamics, because the secondary path modeling is performed via on-line fashion. Simulation results of active noise control with nonlinear primary/secondary path are presented. The results show that the new algorithm can reduce the noise level greatly.

  • Rubber Components have been playing important role for the isolation of noise and vibration of vehicle. This paper is presented the new method of dynamic modeling of rubber component for simulating the dynamic characteristics of it under the varing loading condition. Rubber dynamic model consists of the hyperelastic, viscoelastic and elasto-plastic characteristics of rubber. Dynamic proporties of rubber are calculated at each preload and frequency conditions, compared to test data, and evaluated the validity of rubber dynamic model. This technique is expected to understand and improve the characteristics of noise and vibration with relation to rubber components.

  • In this paper we present Multiple-Channel Active Noise Control[ANC] system by employing Independent Component Analysis[ICA] and Adaptive Network Fuzzy Inference System[ANFIS]. ICA is widely used in signal processing and communication and it use prewhiting and appropriate choice of non-linearities, ICA can separate mixed signal. ANFIS controller is trained with the hybrid learning algorithm to optimize its parameters for adaptively canceling noise. This new method which minimizes a statistical dependency of mutual information(MI) in mixed low frequency noise signal and there is no need to secondary path modeling. The proposed implementations achieve more powerful and stable noise reduction than Filtered-X LMS algorithms which is needed for LTI assumption and precise secondary error

  • The exhaust noise reduction of automobile with the active muffler is experimentally investigated. The control algorithm is the filtered-x LMS algorithm and the inverse algorithm with the adaptive line enhancer. Also, the control efficiency is increased with synthesized second harmonic engine frequency. In the experiment, the active muffler is applied to the end of exhaust system in automobile and the control with on-line secondary path modeling method(inverse algorithm) is compared the control of off-line secondary path modeling method. As secondary path transfer functions are changed, the experimental results show that the control performance with on-line method is more efficient than that with off-line method in the exhaust noise reduction of automobile.

  • The power line channel has time-variant characteristics caused by various kind of electrical devices. This characteristics are synchronized with the main voltage by their own characteristics. The main factors of disturbance are the variation of the channel impedance and noises. In other papers, the synchronous noise modeling has been achieved. But the modeling is not satisfied simultaneously with the time domain and the frequency domain and there are not any discussion about short-term variations of the channel impedance which cause to the signal fading. Therefore, this paper researched to solve problems about the signal fading by analyzing the short-term variation of the channel impedance, and proposed the synchronous noise modeling which is satisfied simultaneously in the time domain and the frequency domain.
