인공신경망 이론을 이용한 소유역에서의 장기 유출 해석 (Forecasting Long-Term Steamflow from a Small Waterhed Using Artificial Neural Network)

  • An artificial neural network model was developed to analyze and forecast daily steamflow flow a small watershed. Error Back propagation neural networks (EBPN) of daily rainfall and runoff data were found to have a high performance in simulating stremflow. The model adopts a gradient descent method where the momentum and adaptive learning rate concepts were employed to minimize local minima value problems and speed up the convergence of EBP method. The number of hidden nodes was optimized using Bayesian information criterion. The resulting optimal EBPN model for forecasting daily streamflow consists of three rainfall and four runoff data (Model34), and the best number of the hidden nodes were found to be 13. The proposed model simulates the daily streamflow satisfactorily by comparison compared to the observed data at the HS#3 watershed of the Baran watershed project, which is 391.8 ha and has relatively steep topography and complex land use.

불명수를 고려한 하수관거 정비 계획 수립을 위한 수학 모형 (A Mathematical Model for Sewer Rehabilitation Planning by Considering Inflow/infiltration)

  • 본 연구에서는 체계적이고 효율적인 하수관거 정비 계획 수립을 위하여 하수관거의 경제적 가치와 불명수 발생량 및 예산 제약 등을 고려한 최적화 모형을 개발 하였다. 하수관거의 최적 정비 계획 모형은 비용 및 환경오염을 일으키는 불명수 발생 사이의 상관관계를 적절히 판단하여 최적의 경제적 사용연수를 결정하여야 하며, 예산 제약 및 각 하수관거와 배수구역의 비용 대비 효과 등을 고려하여 최적의 정비 시점 및 방법을 결정하여야 한다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 관거의 잔존 수명을 상태 노드로 표현하고, 정비에 따른 잔존 수명의 변화를 아크로 표현한 최소비용 네트워크 흐름 최적화(Network Flow Optimization)모형을 구성하였으며, 이를 기초로 예산 제약 및 하수관거 시스템의 정비 특성을 고려한 제약식을 추가한 다중 목적 혼합 정수계획법(Multiple Objective Mixed Integer Programming, MOMIP)을 수립하였다. 이때 모형의 목적식은 비용 최소화 목적과 함께 불명수 발생량 최소화 목적을 추가하여, 의사결정자에게 비용과 불명수 발생량 사이의 영향 관계를 보여줌으로써 적절한 하수관거 정비 계획을 선택할 수 있도록 하였다.

1차원 St. Venant 방정식을 이용한 한강 하류부 하도의 홍수류 특성 분석 (Analysis of Flood Flow Characteristics of the Han River using 1-Dimensional St. Venant Equations)

  • 본 연구에서는 일차원 St. Venat 방정식을 이용하여 한강 하류부(고안-인도교 구간)의 홍수류 특성을 분석하였다. 유한차분 모형인 NETWORK모형을 이용하여 운동량 방정식의 각항(국부가속도항, 대류가속도항, 압력항, 중력항, 마찰항)의 절대적 크기와 상대적 크기를 비교 분석하였다. 분석결과 국부가속도항과 대류가속도항이 작게 나타나고 중력항, 압력항, 마찰항 등이 대부분의 구간에서 크게 나타나서 이 세 항이 흐름을 결정하는 주요 항임을 확인할 수 있었으며 수문곡선의 상태와 하도구간에 따라서는 국부가속도항과 대류가속도항의 상대적인 비율이 무시할 수 없을 정도로 크게 나타나서 이 구간에서는 동역학적 모형이 적절한 것으로 나타났다.

Maximizing Network Utility and Network Lifetime in Energy-Constrained Ad Hoc Wireless Networks

  • This study considers a joint congestion control, routing and power control for energy-constrained wireless networks. A mathematical model is introduced which includes maximization of network utility, maximization of network lifetime, and trade-off between network utility and network lifetime. The framework would maximize the overall throughput of the network where the overall throughput depends on the data flow rates which in turn is dependent on the link capacities. The link capacity on the other hand is a function of transmit power levels and link Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise-Ratio (SINR) which makes the power allocation problem inherently difficult to solve. Using dual decomposition techniques, subgradient method, and logarithmic transformations, a joint algorithm for rate and power allocation problems was formulated. Numerical examples for each optimization problem were also provided.

  • The collaborative content caching system is an effective solution developed in recent years to reduce transmission delay and network traffic. In order to decrease the service end-to-end transmission delay for future 5G ultra-dense networks (UDN), this paper proposes a novel service migration method that can guarantee the continuity of service and simultaneously reduce the traffic flow in the network. In this paper, we propose a service migration optimization model that minimizes the cumulative transmission delay within the constraints of quality of service (QoS) guarantee and network condition. Subsequently, we propose an improved firefly algorithm to solve this optimization problem. Simulation results show that compared to traditional collaborative content caching schemes, the proposed algorithm can significantly decrease transmission delay and network traffic flow.

OTP: An Overlay Transport Protocol for End-to-end Congestion and Flow Control in Overlay Networks

  • The problem of architecting a reliable transport system across an overlay network using split TCP connections as the transport primitive is mainly considered. The considered overlay network uses the application-level switch in each intermediate host. We first argue that natural designs based on store-and-forward principles that are maintained by split TCP connections of hop-by-hop approaches. These approaches in overlay networks do not concern end-to-end TCP semantics. Then, a new transport protocol-Overlay Transport Protocol (OTP)-that manages the end-to-end connection and is responsible for the congestion/flow control between source host and destination host is proposed. The proposed network model for the congestion and flow control mechanisms uses a new window size-Ownd-and a new timer in the source host and destination host. We validate our analytical findings and evaluate the performance of our OTP using a prototype implementation via simulation.

A Dynamic Defense Using Client Puzzle for Identity-Forgery Attack on the South-Bound of Software Defined Networks

  • Software Defined Network (SDN) realizes management and control over the underlying forwarding device, along with acquisition and analysis of network topology and flow characters through south bridge protocol. Data path Identification (DPID) is the unique identity for managing the underlying device, so forged DPID can be used to attack the link of underlying forwarding devices, as well as carry out DoS over the upper-level controller. This paper proposes a dynamic defense method based on Client-Puzzle model, in which the controller achieves dynamic management over requests from forwarding devices through generating questions with multi-level difficulty. This method can rapidly reduce network load, and at the same time separate attack flow from legal flow, enabling the controller to provide continuous service for legal visit. We conduct experiments on open-source SDN controllers like Fluid and Ryu, the result of which verifies feasibility of this defense method. The experimental result also shows that when cost of controller and forwarding device increases by about 2%-5%, the cost of attacker's CPU increases by near 90%, which greatly raises the attack difficulty for attackers.

히스토리컬 프로파일 구축과 시.공간 자료합성에 의한 단속류 통행시간 예측 (Travel Time Forecasting in an Interrupted Traffic Flow by adopting Historical Profile and Time-Space Data Fusion)

  • 현재 국내에서는 지역간 교통의 이동성 및 안전성을 향상시키기 위해 국도를 대상으로 ITS사업을 추진중에 있다. 이러한 ITS 사업을 통해 교통정보를 이용자에게 실시간으로 제공해 줌으로써 기존의 교통시설의 이용을 극대화 하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 정보 제공시 운전자에게 보다 정확한 통행시간정보를 제공해 주는것이 가장 중요하므로 본 연구에서는 자료의 전처리를 통해 원시데이터의 이상치 제거 및 결측처리를 실시하였다. 이를 통해 통행시간 예측의 기본이 되는 원시데이터의 정확성을 향상시켜 정보의 신뢰도를 높일 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 그리고 통행시간 예측을 위해 단속류 도로의 특성을 보다 정확히 반영할 수 있는 히스토리컬 프로파일 모형을 구축하였으며 실제 교통류의 특성을 적극적으로 반영하기 위해 보정식을 개발하였다. 따라서 제안된 모형과 히스토리컬 프로파일 모형과 보정식을 통해 통행시간을 예측한 후 기존의 방식인 신경망 모형, 칼만필터 모형과의 비교검증을 실시하였다. 결과적으로 일반적인 상황에서는 칼만필터 모형과 비슷한 예측력을 보였으나, 첨두시나 유고상황에서는 개발모형이 실제 교통흐름을 상대적으로 정확히 반영하여 예측을 수행함을 확인하였다.

Experimental studies on mass transport in groundwater through fracture network using artificial fracture model

  • A laboratory experiment using artificial fracture rocks was used to understand the 3-dimensional dispersion of a tracer and the mixing process in a fractured network. In this experiment, 12cm polystyrene foam cubes with two electrodes for monitoring electric conductivity (EC) were used as artificial fractured rocks. Distilled water with 0.5mS/m was used as a tracer in water with 35mS/m and the difference of EC between the tracer and the water was monitored by a multipoint simultaneous measurement system of electrical resistance. The results showed that even if the fracture arrangement pattern was not straight in the direction of the flow, the tracer did not diffuse along individual fractures and an oval tracer plume, which was the distribution of tracer concentrations, tended to be form in the direction of the flow. The vertical cross section of the tracer distribution showed small diffusivity in the vertical direction. The calculated total tracer volume passing through each measurement point in the horizontal cross section showed while that the solute passed through measurement points near the direction of hydraulic gradient and in other directions, the passed tracer volumes were small. Using Peclet number as a criterion, it was found that the mass distribution at the fracture intersection was controlled in the stage of transition between the complete mixing model and the streamline routing model.

ITS를 위한 차량검지시스템을 기반으로 한 교통 정체 예측 모듈 개발 (Development of Traffic Congestion Prediction Module Using Vehicle Detection System for Intelligent Transportation System)

  • The role of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is to efficiently manipulate the traffic flow and reduce the cost in logistics by using the state of the art technologies which combine telecommunication, sensor, and control technology. Especially, the hardware part of ITS is rapidly adapting to the up-to-date techniques in GPS and telematics to provide essential raw data to the controllers. However, the software part of ITS needs more sophisticated techniques to take care of vast amount of on-line data to be analyzed by the controller for their decision makings. In this paper, the authors develop a traffic congestion prediction model based on several different parameters from the sensory data captured in the Vehicle Detection System (VDS). This model uses the neural network technology in analyzing the traffic flow and predicting the traffic congestion in the designated area. This model also validates the results by analyzing the errors between actual traffic data and prediction program.
