In Study 1, participants performed two tasks were similar, and negative correlation between the number of task switching and performance were confirmed, this result is similar to previous studies. Study 2 has shown that, made a comparison of two conditions, between possible and impossible conditions in terms of task switching. Depending on switching preference, the result of task performance has differentiated and the emotion that participants had before the task has changed. Depending on participants' switching preference, there were different amount of switching cost. Moreover, for participants who preferred task switching highly than others, task switching occurred more benefit than cost.

  • Recent changes in social structure, such as nuclear family and personalization, are leading to personal and social problems, which may cause various problems due to negative emotional amplification. The absence of a family member who gives a sense of psychological stability in the past can be considered as a representative cause of the emotional difficulties of modern people. This personal and social problem is solved through the empathic interaction of the companion robot communication with users in daily life. In this study, we developed sophisticated empathic interaction design through prototyping of emotional robots. As a result, it was confirmed that the face interaction greatly affects the emotional interaction of the emotional robot and the interaction of the robot improves the emotional sense of the robot. This study has the theoretical and practical significance in that the emotional robot is made more sophisticated interaction and the guideline of the sympathetic interaction design is presented based on the experimental results.

  • The purpose of this study is to inspect the use possibility of DAS as a depression assessment tool for middle school students by finding out their depression tendency and DAS characteristics. For this purpose, I have found out explored the differences between depression and aggression of in middle school students in accordance with sex and grade, and also found a relationship between DAS response characteristics, and the level of depression and aggression. The subjects of this study were 600 middle school students in Pusan and Kyungnam, and the tools used in this study were Silver's Draw-a-Story and Beck's depression scale and aggression scale. The results were analyzed two-way ANOVA analysis, Duncan test, correlation analysis and crosstab analysis. The results of this study are as follows. The depression level of the 9th grade students was higher than that of 7th grade students. And the aggression level of males was higher than in females, and higher in 8th graders than in 7th graders. The emotion content scores and the self-image scores were related to depression and aggression. So when the levels of depression and aggression were high, the emotional response of DAS and the self-image response were negative. Through this study, it is suggested that DAS has the power of discrimination as a tool measuring depression state and that DAS is meaningful because it showed it can be used as a tool for estimating the level of depression state of school students in schools.

  • The purpose of this study was examined the effects of the K-MBSR program according to the length of the training period. Three versions of the K-MBSR program were compared: a 4-week program composed of formal meditation an 8-week program with official meditation and a 12-week program that combined the 4-week and 8-week programs. The 4-week K-MBSR program did not result in a significant decrease in depression, anxiety, or negative emotion. The 8-week and 12-week K-MBSR programs decreased the score of depression significantly, and the effect continued until 8 months. The effect of the 12-week K-MBSR program was greaterthan the effect of the 8-week program, but not significantly. The result of this study indicates that the effect of the 4-week K-MBSR program appears insignificant. The effects of the 8-week and 12-week programs are almost the same, but the effect of 12-week K-MBSR program showed a slightly greater effect in the post-test and 8-month test. The findings were discussed the effect of k-MBSR Program and recommendations for further research.

  • This study is aimed to investigate the relationship between job-related stressor, problem solving style and psychological distress and the effects of job-related stress and problem solving style on psychological distress of firefighters. The Job-related Stress Scale, Problem Solving Style Questionnaire, and the Symptom Checklist-Revised (SCL-90-R) were administered to 148 firefighters working in Seoul and Gyounggi. Correlation analysis revealed that job-related stress, problem-solving styles such as helplessness and problem-solving control correlated positively with psychological distress and that problem-solving confidence and approaching style correlated negatively with it. Multiple regression analysis showed that job-related negative cognition and emotion, helplessness and approaching style accounted for 43% of the variance in the psychological distress. Among problem-solving styles, helplessness had the highest predictive power for psychological distress. Self-reported helplessness is an important determinant of firefighters' reactions to problematic situations encountered in their job.

Type I is 'Rational accepted', which means that they perceived the restraints are essential therapeutic devices and had cooperative attitude to use of medical staffs' restraints. Type II is 'Sardonic sensibility', which means that they have a negative and a cynical attitude to use of physical restraints. Type III is 'Ambivalent', which means that they have conflicts between rationality and emotion, and type IV is 'Practical claim of a right', which means they insist that patients and their family members must be provided with a detailed explanation regarding the application of physical restraints. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that perceptions toward the use of physical restraints among family care-givers should be understood for patients' safety and dignity in medical circumstance. • Objectives: This study aims to supplement the limitations of the preliminary study and expand the use of the Child-Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale by providing standardized T-scores for measuring function in different areas, as well as guidelines for their interpretation. Methods: The Child-Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale and Korean-Child Behavior Checklist were administered to a total of 623 individuals, including 467 parents of emotionally and behaviorally disturbed elementary school students, 45 parents of emotionally and behaviorally disturbed middle school adolescents and 111 parents of elementary school students with developmental disorders, as well as to a control group consisting of 186 parents of mainstream elementary school children in the Seoul metropolitan area. Results: In contrast to the preliminary study, the emotional domain was disassociated into two factors, negative affect and emotion regulation, and the coefficient of determination for misconduct was increased significantly. Also, the overall reliability and validity of the Child-Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale were similar to those in the preliminary study, and the item structure was consistent. This study provides standardized T-scores of function in different areas based on the revised scale, and provides guidelines for their interpretation. Conclusion: The Child-Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale can assist the Child Global Assessment in Functioning in providing the information necessary for case management and treatment planning by comparing the impairment severity in each area of functioning, and also determining changes in behavior and function after treatment interventions. On the other hand, this scale has yet to clearly distinguish between rebellious behavior and misconduct. Further research is necessary to provide standards for more diverse age groups and for its utilization.
