The present study explored a factor, social support, that could mediate the relationship between negative life events and behavioral problems during adolescence. It was hypothesized that social support from parents, peers, and teachers would be an effective mediator between negative life events and delinquent behavior. Data were collected from 161 of the 9th graders in a high school in a coastal community of Oregon. A series of path analyses using regression techniques was used to examine the research hypotheses. Results indicated that social support mediated the relationship between negative life events and delinquent behavior, implying the importance of social support from family, peers, and school in preventing delinquent behavior among adolescents. That is, negative life events were found to exert influence indirectly upon delinquent behavior through its direct effect on social support. Results were discussed in relation to the effects of negative life events on social support and delinquent behavior.
Social skills and behavior problems of 90 4- and 5-year-old children were analyzed by children's negative emotionality(sadness, anger, and fear). The instrument for measurement of social skills(cooperation, self-control, assertion, and responsibility) was the Preschool Level of the Korean Version of the Social Skills Rating System(Suh, Mee-Ock, 2004). Measures of behavior problems included internalizing(anxiety, immaturity, withdrawal, physical symptoms) and externalizing(hyperactivity, aggression) problems. Results showed that girls were higher in negative emotionality(sadness) than boys, and 5-year-olds were higher in social skills than 4-year-olds. Children with lower levels of negative emotionality were higher in social skills and lower in behavior problems than children with higher levels of negative emotionality.
This study focused on the links between emotionality, interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence, and behavior problems in a sample of 185 four- to five-year-old children in kindergarten and daycare centers in Seoul. All variables were measured by the teachers of surveyed children. Collected data were analyzed by Simple Regression and Hierarchical Multiple Regression. The main results of this study were as follows: Firstly, children's positive and negative emotionality each exerted negative and positive effects on their interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence. Secondly, children's positive emotionality had a negative influence on internalizing behavior problems. On the other hand, children's negative emotionality had a positive influence on internalizing and externalizing behavior problems. Finally, effect of children's positive emotionality on their internalizing behavior problems was totally mediated by interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence. On the other hand, effect of children's negative emotionality on their internalizing and externalizing behavior problems was partially mediated by their interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence.
This study investigated the uncertainty, regret experience, and negative behavior intention of fashion consumers according to the types of internet shopping malls. The data was obtained from internet fashion consumers, and 394 responses were used in the data analysis. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and regression analysis. As results, the uncertainty of internet fashion consumers was composed of two factors; information uncertainty and preference uncertainty. The regret experience was composed of function or service regret, suitability regret, and product regret. Also, the negative behavior intention was composed of purchase switching intention and purchase deferral intention. The information uncertainty of fashion consumers positively affected the negative behavior intention in all types of internet shopping malls (e.g., open market, integrated shopping mall, and fashion specialized shopping mall). In open market, the preference uncertainty negatively affected the purchase switching intention; however, the preference uncertainty positively affected the purchase deferral intention. In open market and fashion specialized shopping mall, the product regret of internet fashion consumers positively affected the negative behavior intention. In addition, there were partially significant differences in the factors of uncertainty, regret experience, and negative behavior intention by gender and marital status of demographic characteristics. The results of this study will provide useful information to the marketing strategies considering fashion consumer's negative emotion and behaviors according to the types of internet shopping malls.
The purpose of this study was to analyze a causal relationship of children's behavior problem and the related variables(socio-economic status mother's psychological problem mother's affective parenting behavior children's negative emotionality and children's self-control). The major findings of this study were as follows: 1) Socio-economic status had indirect in influence to children's behavior problem via mother's psychological problem and mother's affective parenting behavior. 2) Mother's psychological problem had direct influence and also indirect influence to hildren's behavior problem via mother's affective parenting behavior and children's negative emotionality. 3) Mother's affective parenting behavior and children's negative emotionality had a direct effect on children's behavior problem and affected indirectly via children's self-control. 4) Children's self-control had direct influence to children's behavior problem. 5) Mother's psychological problem was the most signi icant variable affecting children's behavior problem.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of negative emotions on the intention to share negative experiences caused by unruly passengers on flights. 163 questionnaires were collected and an SEM model was used to measure the relationship between passengers' negative emotions and sharing intentions. We empirically analyzed the impact of unruly passenger behavior on social media sharing intention through negative emotions, airline trust, and satisfaction with service recovery. Theoretically, we established a clear causal relationship between these variables. The results of this study shed light on the importance of developing a sustainable service strategy for passengers by analyzing the impact of negative emotions and sharing intentions. Based on our findings, we recognized that airlines should respond to disruptive behavior while understanding the negative emotional feelings of surrounding passengers. Therefore, this study strongly recommends that airlines should respond appropriately to in-flight disruptive behavior and ensure that passengers' negative emotions do not damage the overall reputation and image of the airline.
The purpose of this study was to know whether the information of caries activity and caries experience of the children can be used to predict the behavior of the children during the dental treatment. The subjects of the study were one hundred and eighty-one preschool children, three to six years old. Salivary reductase activity was tested by the Resazurin Disc Test. Caries experience was examined. The children's behavior was observed using the rating scale of Frankl. Salivary reductase activity of the negative behavior group was slightly higher than that of the positive behavior goup, but the difference was not significant. dt index and ds index of the negative behavior group were significantly higher than those of the positive behavior group. There were no significant differences in ft index and fs index between the two behavior groups. The results suggest that the negative behavior of a child can be predicted when the child has many untreated dental caries.
The purpose of this study was to examine: (1) how mothers generally react to children's negative emotions; (2) whether there were relationships between children's temperament and mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions; (3) whether there were relationships between mothers' depression and parenting stress, and their reactions to children's negative emotions; (4) whether there were relationships between mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions and children's behavior problems; and (5) whether there were relationships between mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions and children's social competence. The subjects were 246 preschoolers and their mothers. It was found that emotion-focused socialization and problem-focused socialization were the most frequently used reactions by mothers to cope with children's negative emotions. Relationships between children's temperament and mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions, those between mothers' depression and parenting stress and their reactions to children's negative emotions, those between mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions and children's behavior problems, and those between mothers' reactions to children's negative emotions and children's social competency were all partially significant. Sex differences were found in some of the relationships found significant.
This study examines the relationship between a mother's psychological well-being and children's problematic behavior(withdrawal, depression anxiety, aggression and emotional instability). In order to expand the study on the relationships, special attention was given to the possible mediator effects of mother's coping style with children's negative emotions. The subjects were 305 mothers with children 4-5 years old residing in the cities of Cheonan and Seongnam. It was found that mother's psychological well-being was significantly related to the level of children's withdrawal, depression anxiety, aggression and emotional instability. The mother's coping style with children's negative emotions were also significantly related to the mother's psychological well-being. In addition the mother's coping style with children's negative emotions was found to be a significant mediator of the relationship between mother's psychological well-being and children's. This was especially so for internal problems behavior as like withdrawal, depression anxiety and emotional instability that were perfectly mediated by the mother's coping style with children's negative emotions. Aggression, external problems behavior was partially mediated by the mother's coping style.

Further, the effects of shopping fatigue on negative purchasing behaviors were analyzed. The survey was conducted among consumers in their 20s and 40s in the Seoul metropolitan area who had experience of purchasing fashion products through internet shopping. A total of 392 questionnaire were analysis, with frequency, reliability, factor, correlation, and regression analysis completed using the SPSS statistics program. The results of the study showed that consumer confusion and shopping fatigue in internet shopping environment affected negative purchasing behaviors. First, consumer confusion comprised overload confusion, similarity confusion, and ambiguity confusion. It was found that overload confusion and similarity confusion significantly affected shopping fatigue. Second, shopping fatigue significantly affected negative purchasing behaviors, and an increased level of shopping fatigue result in, increased purchase delay and non-purchase behavior. Third, consumer confusion (overload confusion, similarity confusion, ambiguity confusion) significantly affected purchase delay behavior, while similarity confusion and ambiguity confusion significantly affected non-purchasing behavior. These results will provide useful data for e-CRM and marketing directions of internet companies and will contribute to rational decision-making of internet consumers and improve the quality of consumer life.
