일개 도시 지역주민의 보건교육 요구도 조사 (A survey on the Needs of Residents' Health Education in a Community)

  • Purposes: Purposes of this study were to assess the needs of health education of residents and to determine the difference according to their general characteristics in a community. Method: Subjects consisted of 599 residents who live in the vicinity of M Catholic University, S dong, M city, Jeollanam do. Data were collected by 6 research assistants, using a self reported questionnaire from July 1, 2003 to July 31, 2003. Results: Subjects were mostly female (58.8%). 20 30 years old(45.2%), married (70.1%), high school graduates (42.1%), have an occupation(73.1%). have incomes less than 1.000,000 won(54.2%) and have a religion(59.8%). and the family type of the subjects was primarily nuclear(64.1%). The need for education about 'family health care management and medical examination' was the highest in 8 domains. The need for education about 'cancer' was the highest and 'family health care', 'stress and strategies', 'introduction of medical examination' and 'oral care' followed in 41 items. The differences in the needs of health education in all domains was found according to subjects' general characteristics. Conclusion: Further research is needed to develop a health education program based on participants' needs and general characteristics.

치의학대학원 학생의 장애환자에 대한 인식 조사 (DENTAL STUDENTS' PERCEPTIONS AND BEHAVIOR INTENTIONS TOWARDS PATIENTS WITH SPECIAL CARE)

  • The objective of this study was to explore perceptions of dental student of patients with special care. Their satisfaction with education, and their professional attitudes and behavioral intentions concerning treating these patients were the issues of this paper. Paper-and-pencil survey data were collected from 289 dental students at the school of dentistry, Seoul National University. Most respondents agreed that it is important to be educated about providing care for patients with special needs at the school. The higher grade students they are, they got the higher degree of understanding about treating these patients and the more satisfaction with the education. However, their intentions to treat these patients in their future professional lives were negatively correlated with degree of students. Based on these findings, it is recommended that school curriculum about treating patients with special care be reconsidered to develop students' comfort level in treating special needs populations.

한국 노동시장 불안정성과 미충족 치과의료의 관련성: 고용과 소득 불안정성을 중심으로 (The relationship between precarious work and unmet dental care needs in South Korea: focus on job and income insecurity)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze the accessibility of dental care services among individuals with precarious employment in South Korea. Methods: We used the $9^{th}$ wave of the Korean Health Panel data (2015) and included 7,736 wage and non-wage earners in our study. We determined precariousness in the labor market as a combination of employment relationship and job income, and categorized individuals based on this into the following four groups: Group A comprising those who report job and income security, Group B comprising those who experience job insecurity alone, Group C comprising those who report a stable job but low income, and Group D comprising those who experience both job and income insecurity. Accessibility to dental care services was determined by experience of unmet dental care needs and unmet dental care needs caused primarily by financial burden. Logistic regression analyses were used to assess the effect of precarious work on access to dental care services. Results: Individuals with job insecurity (Group B; OR=1.445; 95% CI=1.22-1.70) and both job and income insecurity (Group D; OR=1.899; 95% CI=1.61-2.24) were more likely to have unmet needs than the comparison group. Both groups B and D were also 2.048 (95% CI=1.57-2.66) times and 4.435 (95% CI =3.46-5.68) times more likely, respectively, to have unmet dental care needs caused by financial burden. Education status, health insurance, and health status were all also effective factors influencing unmet dental care needs. Conclusions: Unstable employment and low income resulted in diminished access to dental care services. Therefore, governments should consider health policy solutions to reduce barriers preventing individuals with employment and income instability from accessing adequate dental care.

치위생과 전공심화과정을 위한 학습자 요구분석 및 결과활용 사례 (Analysis of learner needs for advanced dental hygiene major courses)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the needs of learners in an advanced major course in a bid to strike a balance between theory and practice. And it's also meant to suggest an actual case of that effort in an advanced course. As a result of analyzing the collected data, the largest number of the learners who signed up for the advanced course chose that course to earn a bachelor's degree, and the second greatest group did that to bolster their expertise. The name of the college that offered that course (41.4%) had the most impact on their choice of it, followed by accessibility(28.6%). The most common thing they practiced in the oral health education course as one of major courses was forming a lesson plan, followed by teaching at schools and kindergartens, trial student teaching, producing PPT, making OHP materials, making a bulletin board and producing leaflets. During clinical activities for oral health education, the largest group considered it necessary to learn about more theories on educational psychology(54%), followed by the production of teaching media(29.9%) and teaching methods(25.3%). Likewise, the greatest group found it more necessary to practice educational psychology(42.5%), followed by the utilization of media(37.9%) and teaching methods(28.7%). An one-on-one interview was implemented before and after their classes to obtain more detailed information on their needs, and what their needs were in relation to the given curriculum was eventually confirmed, which made it possible to offer better education in response to their needs.

요양보호사의 구강건강관리실태 및 구강건강관리교육 요구도 조사 (Oral health care status and educational needs of care workers)

  • Introduction: This study intended to identify the current oral health care status and demand of care workers for oral health education. Methods: A survey was distributed to care workers working in 11 nursing homes for older people located in the Chungcheongdo Province. Of those distributed, 217 questionnaires were collected and analyzed. To analyze the collected data, a frequency analysis, t-test, and one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA) were performed using SPSS version 18.0. Results: The demand for an educational course on the 'Management of Oral Health Care for the Aged People' had a score of 4.22 points(full marks were 5.0 points), whereas the score for the necessity for control of oral health was 4.29 points. The control of oral health for the aged people suffering dysphagia scored 4.27 points, whereas the control of oral health for older people who have dementia was 4.27 points. The score for a course on the nutritional control for aged people having difficulties in masticating foods was 4.27. Conclusion: It is clear that the development of educational courses and standardized manuals for care workers on aspects of oral health care is necessary. Therefore, it would be desirable to develop institutional infrastructure for dental hygienists to educate care workers on oral health.

유아교육기관교사의 자기효능감, 통제위 및 구강질병관리신념과의 관련요인 (Related factor of oral health promotion activities, self-efficacy and oral disease control and beliefs of nursery teacher)

  • Objectives : This study is to grasp the efficacy, locus of control, oral disease management beliefs, etc and to make a close inquiry the relevance between theses key figures and oral health promotion practice for a teacher and oral care about children and to provide the basic materials of oral health education for the teachers of infant nursery. Methods : This study was made from July to September in 2009 to nursery teacher by having the self-report questionnaire for teachers of infant nursery who are performing nursry school tearcher. Total 187 questionnaire were distributed and among these, 167 questionnaire excluding 20 questionnaire of incomplete responses were statistically analyzed with SPSS12.0. Results : The efficacy is highly in a married person(p=0.001) according to the teacher's age(P=0.006), perceived good oral status(p=0.001) according to the oral conditions and has the significant difference. The internal locus of control is highly in a married person(p=0.006) according to the teacher's age(P=0.037) and the marital status and has the significant difference statistically. The external locus of control is the highest(p=0.038) in the age of 40 among teacher's age and has the significant difference statistically. The oral disease management beliefs is the highest in the age of 20 ~ 29(p=0.001), highly in married(p=0.003) and has the significant difference according to the marital status and perceived good oral status(p=0.045) according to the oral conditions. There has no significant difference in the efficacy, the internal locus of control, the external Lotus of Control, oral disease management beliefs following by the infant oral care after taking medicines and oral care of infants after tooth brushing. Conclusions : Therefore, the oral health promotion activities should be induced by educating the nursery teacher and it needs to spread out the oral care education with the development to operate practically. It is considered in need of the infant oral care which is not burden on to the nursery teacher but helpful to the infant by connecting the subjects of dental hygiene and oral health education training.

Borich 요구도와 The Locus for Focus Model을 활용한 교사와 학부모의 구강보건교육 내용 우선순위 요구분석 (A Needs Analysis Oral Health Education Contents for Teachers and Parents Using Borich Priority Formula and The Locus for Focus Model)

  • 본 연구는 보육 교육기관 교사와 학부모를 대상으로 영유아 구강보건교육 프로그램 개발을 위해 구강보건교육 요구를 바탕으로 구강보건교육 내용의 우선순위를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 2017년 12월 26일부터 2018년 1월 21일까지 서울, 경기, 인천, 충청, 경상, 세종, 부산 지역의 보육 교육기관 교사 212명과 학부모 215명 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 영유아 구강보건교육의 요구는 교사와 학부모가 각각 89.7%, 88.8%로 높게 나타났고, 구강보건교육 담당자로 보육 교육기관의 교사와 학부모는 '영유아전담 치과위생사'를 가장 많이 선호하였다. 구강보건교육 내용의 우선순위 결정을 위해 대응표본 t-검증과 Borich 교육요구도, The Locus for Focus 모델 등의 3단계 분석방법을 활용하였다. 연구 결과, 구강보건교육 8개 영역의 40개 내용 모두 현재수준과 필요수준 간에 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 구강보건교육 내용에 대한 보육 교육기관의 교사의 최우선 순위는 7개 항목, 학부모의 최우선 순위는 9개 항목으로 두 집단의 최우선 순위를 확인할 수 있었다. 보육 교육기관의 교사와 학부모가 구강보건교육의 최우선 우선순위 내용은 5개 항목으로 '치아우식증의 진행과정', '치아우식증의 증상', '치아우식증을 예방하는 방법', '영구치의 맹출 순서', '치아 탈구 시 응급처치 방법'이었다. 보육 교육기관의 교사가 최우선으로 요구하는 구강보건교육 내용은 '유치의 맹출 순서', '영구치의 기능'이 추가되었고, 학부모가 최우선으로 요구하는 구강보건교육 내용은 '불소도포의 효과', '영구치의 개수', '부정교합의 예방법', '부정교합의 치료시기'가 추가되었다. 향후 영유아 구강보건교육 프로그램을 개발할 때에는 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 보육 교육기관의 교사와 학부모가 공통적으로 요구하는 최우선순위 구강보건 교육 내용 5개 항목을 포함하고, 보육 교육기관의 교사대상 구강보건교육에서는 7개 교육 내용, 학부모대상 구강보건교육에는 9개의 교육 내용이 우선적으로 반영된 피교육자 요구도 중심으로 영유아 구강보건교육이 개발되어야 할 것이다.

일부 노인의 보철장착에 따른 구강건강행태와 구강관리 요구도 조사 (A study of the oral health status and the need of oral management of elderly)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was identified about oral health status and oral health needs of elderly. Moreover this study would be based further research of development of oral health in elderly. Methods : This study was undertaken to determine the oral health status and the need of oral management of over 65years elderly who were with dental prosthesis in elderly welfare center and Kyung Ro Dong in Kyung Bok and Kyung Nam. The results were as follows. Results : The sample was 200 participants. The demographical characteristic were that 74.0% of participant was female, 29.0% of participant was 75~79 years old, 42.5% of participant was under elementary, and 45.5% of participant was living alone. 43.7% of participant was pain from muscle-skeletal disease, 37.1% of participant was cardiac-vascular disease, and 31.1% of participant was ophthalmic disease. In oral health status, 54.5% of participant was partly artificial tooth and 45% of participant was whole artificial tooth. 78.0% of participant used under 10 years with partly artificial tooth and only 27.4% were satisfaction with artificial tooth. 83.5% of participant used under 10 years with whole artificial tooth and only 26.4% were satisfaction with artificial tooth. In the oral health status of partly artificial tooth, the average of toothbrush was 2 times, 42.2%. The majority method of toothbrush was 'their own freely' 55.0%. The time of toothbrush was 'after meal' 81.8%. The study result showed that majority participant didn't experience of tongue brush, regular examination, scaling, and oral health education. In the need of oral management with the whole artificial tooth, the participant who used longer artificial tooth was significantly higher about artificial irrigation and the method of management(p<.05). The need of participant who answered 'don't gum massage', was higher of xerostomia treatment(p<.01) and halitosis treatment(p<.05). In the need of oral management with the partly artificial tooth, the participant who used longer artificial tooth was significantly higher about regular examination(p<.01), oral cavity massage(p<.05), scaling(p<.05), dental caries treatment(p<.01). The need of participant who answered 'don't satisfaction with artificial tooth' was higher of regular examination and scaling(p<.05). Conclusions : Oral management needs of elderly who kept artificial tooth or denture required were regular dental examination, xerostomia management, management of artificial tooth and irrigation, and management of bad breath. This results meaned the oral health intervention program for elderly was developed regularly.

보건치과위생사의 자율(독립)적 직무수행 요구도 조사 (A study on the needs of independent dental hygiene practices in the public dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the needs of independent dental hygiene practices in the Korean public dental hygienists. Methods: This research was a cross-sectional survey study. 159 Korean public dental hygienists were selected by simple random sampling on March 10, 2017. 133 public dental hygienists were participated, after excluding 26 hygienists who showed insufficient responses. The respondents were asked to select one of the following options to reflect their needs: direct supervision, indirect supervision, and independent dental hygiene practice. Results: The results showed that the public dental hygienists wanted both public oral health practices (62.5%) and assistance in preventive dental treatments (63.4%) to be performed independently. Conclusions: The public dental hygienists were required to independently perform oral health education and fluoride mouth rinsing projects. Dental hygienists should improve their capability of independently practicing dental hygiene first, and then indicators. It should be established and measured to evaluate their competency in this respect. Legal protection should be considered for independent dental hygiene practices.

한국 성인의 치주치료요구와 구강건강행동의 관련성 (The association between periodontal treatment needs and oral health behaviors in Korean adults)

  • 본 연구는 본 연구는 지역사회치주치료요구지수(CPITN) 각 단계의 치주치료요구와 구강건강행동의 관련성을 확인하고자 하였다. 제7기 국민건강영양조사 자료를 이용하여 19-79세 성인 11,002명을 대상으로 다변량 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 치실과 치간칫솔과 같은 치간관리용품을 사용하는 경우 CPITN1(OR=0.709, p<0.001), CPITN2(OR=0.672, p<0.001), CPITN3(OR=0.783, p<0.05)과 치주염(OR=0.726, p<0.001) 위험을 유의하게 감소시켰다. 1일 3회 이상의 칫솔질은 CPITN1(OR=0.755, p<0.01)과 CPITN2(OR=0.811, p<0.05)의 위험을 유의하게 감소시켰으며, 치과검진은 CPITN1(OR=0.661, p<0.001), CPITN2(OR=0.621, p<0.001)와 치주염(OR=0.818, p<0.001)의 OR을 감소시켰다. CPITN의 각 단계 및 치주염 유무에 따라 구강건강행동의 효과는 차이가 있었다. 따라서 구강보건교육을 할 때에는 치간관리용품 사용 교육을 필수로 포함하고, 대상자의 치주건강상태에 따라 구강건강행동을 선택하여 교육하는 것이 도움이 될 것이다.
