  • This study was conducted to provide basic data to prepare a plan for establishing a horse riding competition system to expand the base of the horse industry. As a result of analyzing the factors and needs that affect participation in horse riding competitions among athletes participating in horse riding competitions, the following conclusions were obtained. First, for participants in equestrian competitions, competitions and games will be held in which even athletes with lower skills can participate, and measures will be taken to ensure that obstacle jumping and dressage can develop equally. Second, there is a need for a venue in the metropolitan area where national-scale equestrian competitions can be held. Third, the point system must be introduced to manage the history of participants in horseback riding competitions as well as to encourage continuous participation in competitions. In future research, it is necessary to seek the development of horse riding competitions by examining the size of the prize money, the continuation of competition participation, and the transformation into professional athletes in horse riding competitions.

  • In 1990s, with the rapid development of the design part and the change of perception, various design competitions in a way to encourage the design industry have repeatedly implemented and abolished. They played positive roles of developing designs and nurturing talents. On the contrary, they caused a lot of problems of standardization of design, loss of identification of competitions, deterioration of the quality of design. Especially, though too many competitions are holding, the level of quality cannot catch up with the quantity, resulting in numerous side-effects. In the field of Furniture Design, many competitions are just an one time events and disappeared. Therefore, it is very difficult to keep the tradition of prestigious competition, playing the adverse role in the development of furniture design and lowering the will of creativeness of designers. In this study, I compared and analyzed the current issues and problems of Gyeonggi Furniture Good Design Contest, one of the representative competition as the national scale competition as of 2006, with examples from home and abroad to find out the positive and developmental methods. At the same time, I provided the ways that can be helpful in the design through the ways to facilitate competition and proposals of desirable competitions.

  • This study intended to analyze the morphological characteristics and images of figure skating costume designs in order to grope the figure skating costume designs that can effectively demonstrate beauty in actual competitions. The study was implemented on the figure skating costumes of Ladies medalists in 4 largest international competitions held in 2005. The morphological elements of the costumes for Ladies include lines and colors, textures, details and accessories and these are used in designing for visual effects of movements and for maximum expressions of program images. The images that account for the largest percentage of Ladies figure skating costumes were shown to be elegant images followed by sexy images, luxury images and girlish images in the order of precedence. Overwhelmingly many refined and sexy images were presented in 2005 season and in 2006 season appeared along with them, many costumes with individual and gorgeous images. In 2007 season appeared many costumes with matured and exotic images and in 2008 began to appear many refined and elegant costumes. The images of costumes show slight differences among players enabling the taste of each player for figure skating costumes to be guessed.

Formal wear is mainly comprised of men's and children's wear (85.7%). There are Pungcha Baji, Sagusam, Kkachi Durumagi, Jeonbok & Bokgeon, Durumagi, and others on the formal wear of men'schildren's wear. In casual wear, 66.7% of women's wear such as scarves, skirts, jeogori, Hwejang Jeogori & chima were on the list of assignments. Secondly, All of the 19 assignments presented in the National Skills Competitions were in adult suits. Thirteen tasks (68.4%) were in formal wear and 6 tasks (31.6%) were in casual wear. Nine out of the 13 formal wear tasks (69.2%) were men's clothes. In 6 assignments of the casual wear, men's and women's clothes were presented three times each. Formal wear that had many assignments was the men's Chulik, which was presented three times in 2006, 2008 and 2016. • Water rocket is a non-chemical rocket mechanically powered by pressurized gas and liquid (water) propellants. Since water rockets share many engineering commonalities with liquid propellant rockets for space launch vehicles, it is as a education tool for rocket engineering. Present paper investigated the availability of water rocket as an engineering education model by surveying the history of water rocket and making examples from K-12 education, commercial products and club activities. Finally, a way of improvement is suggested for water rocket competitions make changes in the perception on water rockets by examining the limitations of present competitions.

  • This thesis studied the factor of participation motives and the degree of satisfaction of the participants in culinary skill competitions and their effectiveness. In addition, this thesis has an aim to offer profitable materials on the basis of demonstrative analysis emphasizing the study on how many factors of satisfaction should be motivated by participation effect. This thesis restricted cookers within those who had participated in a cooking contest so that it could possibly measure the motive of participation and satisfaction. This thesis investigated 115 cookers by questionnaires, of which 102 available materials were used for statistical processing to perform this study. As for the periodical interval, this thesis was performed from Feb 14, 2005 to Feb 21, 2005. First, from the motive of participation, 13 variables are analyzed into 3 factors such as the factor of social recognition, the factor of speciality, and the factor of self-development & self- realization. The factor of speciality, and the factor of self-development & self-realization. The factor as a motive of participating in skill competition affects effectiveness meaningfully. Second, total three factors were extracted from the degree of satisfaction which consisted of 13 variables. They included the psychological satisfaction and satisfaction with the judges in competitions. One limitation of this study is that the population of the survey was limited to those who had participated in a contest. Thus, the findings of this study may not be generalizable for other cases. It is clear that further research is needed to collect more in-dept data from other similar competitions as a effort to extend its application to other studies.

  • This study examines optimal emission taxes and welfares in mixed duopoly markets where public and private firms produce differentiated goods and emit pollutions. Both comparing quantity and price competitions and comparing simultaneous and simultaneous games provides the followings findings: First, irrespective of competition modes between quantity and price competitions or simultaneous and sequential games, the optimal emission tax is always lower than marginal environmental damage. Second, emission tax under private leadership is the highest in quantity competition while that under public leadership is the highest in price competition. Third, environmental damage under Cournot and private leadership is worsened in quantity competition while that under public leadership is worsened in price competition. Finally, welfare under Bertrand and public leadership is improved in price competition while that under private leadership is improved in quantity competition.

  • Nursery is a very important space for the development and growth of children. Domestic national nurseries mostly have uniform space composition, and there is no significant difference from the general architecture. Therefore, this study focused on presuming the cause of uniformity in domestic nursery space configuration through analysing the competition guidelines. For this purpose, we reviewed the procedure of the competitions and collected 57 competition guidelines for the last 10 years. The competition guideline was divided into design guidelines and evaluation items, and each of them were analysed focused on the contents of the items and the changes over time. The derived results suggested the problems which seem to affect the uniformity of the domestic nursery in three aspects: design guidelines, evaluation items, and the current procedure of nursery competitions.
