Machining of Straight Bevel Gear Die with Crown Teeth Using Ball End Mill (볼 엔드밀을 이용한 크라운 치형을 갖는 직선 베벨기어 금형 가공)

  • A lot of straight bevel gears have been manufactured by the cold forging process in order to improve the productivity and mechanical property of the product. The die for the cold forging of the gear needs high precision and reproducibility. In the study, cold forging die has been modeled by CAD/CAM and manufactured by machining center using ball end mill coated by (Al, Ti)N for heat-treated alloy steel(STD11, HRC 60). Through the measurement of the machined die, satisfactory dimensional accuracy and surface roughness were obtained. In the future, many 3-d cold forging dies will be directly machined instead of electric discharge machining.

  • An open smooth manifold is said of finite geometric rank if it admits a handlebody decomposition with a finite number of 1-handles. We prove that, if there exists a proper submanifold $W^{n+3}$ of finite geometric rank between an open 3-manifold $V^3$ and its stabilization $V^3{\times}B^n$(where $B^n$ denotes the standard n-ball), then the manifold $V^3$ has the Tucker property. This means that for any compact submanifold $C{\subset}V^3$, the fundamental group ${\pi}_1(V^3-C)$ is finitely generated. In the irreducible case this implies that $V^3$ has a well-behaved compactification.

Effects of the Addition of $La_2O_3$ on Mechanical Properties and Machinability of $Si_3N_4$ Ball

  • Silicon nitride with adding La$_2$O$_3$ was sintered by gas pressure sintering (GPS) technique at $1950^{\circ}C$, in $N_2$ gas at 3 MPa, for 2h. Mechanical properties such as hardness, flexural strength, and fracture toughness were determined as a function of the GPS holding time and the contents of La$_2$O$_3$ in silicon nitride. Also machinability of silicon nitride ball with various GPS holding time and amount of La$_2$O$_3$ was evaluated by magnetic fluid grinding (MFG) method. In this study it was found that machinability was influenced significantly with La$_2$O$_3$ contents. However, the different GPS holding time did not affect the machinability very much.

MORE PROPERTIES OF WEIGHTED BEREZIN TRANSFORM IN THE UNIT BALL OF ℂn

  • We exhibit various properties of the weighted Berezin operator Tα and its iteration Tkα on Lp(𝜏), where α > -1 and 𝜏 is the invariant measure on the complex unit ball Bn. Iterations of Tα on L1R(𝜏) the space of radial integrable functions have performed important roles in proving 𝓜-harmonicity of bounded functions with invariant mean value property. We show differences between the case of 1 < p < ∞ and p = 1, ∞ under the infinite iteration of Tα or the infinite summation of iterations, most of which are extensions or related assertions to the propositions of the previous results.

Comparison of the Tribological behaviors of Various Organic Molecular Films (다양한 유기분자막의 마찰특성 비교)

  • Monolayers such as self-assembled monolayer (SAM) have received considerable attention to reduce stiction and friction in micro-devices and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Various organic molecular films were investigated to obtain better understanding of their tribological behaviors and adhesion property. The organic molecular films studied in this work are: epoxysilane SAMs, octadecyltricholosilane (OST), multi-layers composed of epoxysilane SAMs, poly[styrene-b-(ethylene-co-butylene)-b-styrene](SEBS) and compound of epoxy resin and poly (paraphenylene)(EP/PPP). The pull-off forces of these films were also obtained from force-distance curves measured in static mode of operation of atomic force microscope(AFM). Tribological tests were conducted with a ball-on-flat reciprocating friction tester. The OST showed the lowest pull-off force, indicating its low adhesion property. It was revealed that, the OST, EP/PPP and the multi-layer of epoxysilane SAMs, SEBS and EP/PPP exhibited good tribological properties at the lower load (0.3 N) whereas the OST showed best performance at the higher load (1.8 N).

ITERATES OF WEIGHTED BEREZIN TRANSFORM UNDER INVARIANT MEASURE IN THE UNIT BALL

  • We focus on the interations of the weighted Berezin transform Tα on Lp(τ), where τ is the invariant measure on the complex unit ball Bn. Iterations of Tα on L1R(τ) the space of radial integrable functions played important roles in proving 𝓜-harmonicity of bounded functions with invariant mean value property. Here, we introduce more properties on iterations of Tα on L1R(τ) and observe differences between the iterations of Tα on L1(τ) and Lp(τ) for 1 < p < ∞.

Study of anti wear resistance of Mo-Cu-N coatings deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering process with single alloying target (윤활조건에 따른 Mo-Cu-N 코팅의 마모특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, it has been tried to make the single Mo-Cu alloying targets with the Cu showing the best surface hardness that was determined by investigation on the coatings with the double target process. The single alloying targets were prepared by powder metallurgy methods such as mechanical alloying and spark plasma sintering. The nanocomposite coatings were prepared by reactive magnetron sputtering process with the single alloying targets in $Ar+N_2$ atmosphere. The microstructure changes of the Mo-Cu-N coatings with diverse Cu contents were investigated by using XRD, SEM and EDS. The mechanical properties of the coatings were evaluated by using nano-indentor, scratch test, and ball on disc methods. Especially, the coated samples were tested by using various lubricating oil to compare the property of anti wear-resistance. In this study, the nano-composite MoN-Cu coatings prepared using an alloying target was eventually compared with the coatings from the multiple targets.
