In order for the music therapist to make an accurate treatment, various music therapy cases and treatment history data must be analyzed. Although the most appropriate treatment is given to the client or patient, in reality a number of difficulties are followed due to several factors. In this paper, we propose a music therapy knowledge management model which convergence the existing therapy data and text mining technology. By using the proposed model, similar cases can be searched and accurate and effective treatment can be made for the patient or the client based on specific and reliable data related to the patient. This can be expected to bring out the original purpose of the music therapy and its effect to the maximum, and is expected to be useful for treating more patients.

  • Summary. Most of American pop music, which are dominating the hegemony of the global pop music market, have been derived from the culture of African Americans, most of whom were slaves of European immigrants. The music of black slaves must be the one of the greatest undisputed achievements that have most influenced the American history. Indeed, All of the mainstream pop music works around the world, including those in America, are the descendants of the black music with the gene of the black people. We can say, therefore, the music born through the Afro-American culture has become the music that every person around the world enjoys in the present. Accordingly, K-Pop music culture, centered in idol group, is also based on the black music. This fact suggests that the K-Pop culture can be spread into people in different customs or traditions with little resistance. The success factor of Motown, at the very center of the black music, which integrated the whole global music, is not only their incredibly outstanding music works, but also the self-consciousness the musicians have that they are strongly reluctant to settle down to present reality. This shall lead to the necessity of self-reflection for the Korean music market, which are obsessed with present popularity and only taking advantage of teenager market, and for those engaged in music business in Korea, who are lack of the artistic value and the consciousness as artist.

  • 20th century music has been recognized as disconnected. Some criticized that it is not music. This controversy has been continued over decades in music history. This study applied Darwin's evolutionary theory to John Cage's 4'33", the most popular music in 20th century and tried to prove musical continuity embedded in it. 4'33" has always been a subject of controversy because it has no sound. However, the study found out that 4'33" has the common musical factor, the rest. 4'33" can be interpreted as the variation of the rest in evolutionary view. The rest has undergone a variety of variations in form and meaning since the beginning of the musical notation and was suitable for a new musical environment changed in 20th century. In the evolutionary view, 4'33" is evolved music, not disconnected.
