Study on Aerodynamic Optimization Design Process of Multistage Axial Turbine

  • An aerodynamic optimization design process of multistage axial turbine is presented in this article: first, applying quasi-three dimensional(Q3D) design methods to conduct preliminary design and then adopting modern optimization design methods to implement multistage local optimization. Quasi-three dimensional(Q3D) design methods, which mainly refer to S2 flow surface direct problem calculation, adopt the S2 flow surface direct problem calculation program of Harbin Institute of Technology. Multistage local optimization adopts the software of Numeca/Design3D, which jointly adopts genetic algorithm and artificial neural network. The major principle of the methodology is that the successive design evaluation is performed by using an artificial neural network instead of a flow solver and the genetic algorithms may be used in an efficient way. Flow computation applies three-dimensional viscosity Navier Stokes(N-S) equation solver. Such optimization process has three features: (i) local optimization based on aerodynamic performance of every cascade; (ii) several times of optimizations being performed to every cascade; and (iii) alternate use of coarse grid and fine grid. Such process was applied to optimize a three-stage axial turbine. During the optimization, blade shape and meridional channel were respectively optimized. Through optimization, the total efficiency increased 1.3% and total power increased 2.4% while total flow rate only slightly changed. Therefore, the total performance was improved and the design objective was achieved. The preliminary design makes use of quasi-three dimensional(Q3D) design methods to achieve most reasonable parameter distribution so as to preliminarily enhance total performance. Then total performance will be further improved by adopting multistage local optimization design. Thus the design objective will be successfully achieved without huge expenditure of manpower and calculation time. Therefore, such optimization design process may be efficiently applied to the aerodynamic design optimization of multistage axial turbine.

하향링크 다중 안테나 MC-CDMA 시스템을 위한 다단계 병렬 널링 및 병렬 부분 간섭 제거 수신기 설계 (Multistage Parallel Nulling-Partial PIC Receiver for Downlink MIMO MC-CDMA Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 안테나를 사용한 다중 반송파 대역확산 다중접속 (MIMO MC-CDMA) 시스템을 위한 다단계 병렬 널링 및 병렬 부분 간섭 제거 수신기 (MPN-PPIC)를 제안한다. 기존의 V-BLAST 수신기는 널리 알려져 있는 다중 안테나 시스템에 대한 수신 방법으로, 단일 사용자 하향 링크 다중 안테나 MC-CDMA 시스템에 대해서는 어느 정도 좋은 성능을 보이지만, 다중 사용자의 경우에 있어서는 심각한 성능 저하 (error floor)를 보이는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 수신기는 다중 사용자 환경에서 이러한 성능 저하를 보이지 않으며, 다단계 연산을 통해서 보다 더 나은 성능을 얻을 수 있다. 또한, 제안한 방법은 chip interleaving을 하는 경우, 다단계 연산을 통해 단일 사용자 환경에 대해서도 V-BLAST보다 더 나은 성능을 보인다. 제안한 방법에 대한 이와 같은 성능은 컴퓨터 모의 실험을 통해서 확인해 본다.

  • 본 논문에서는 유연제조시스템(FMS)에서 다단계스케줄링 문제를 효율적으로 해결하기 위한 적응형 혼합유전 알고리즘(ahGA) 접근법을 제안한다. 제안된 ahGA는 FMS의 해를 개선시키기 위하여 이웃탐색기법을 사용하며, 유전탐색과정에서의 수행도를 향상시키기 위해 유전알고리즘(GA)의 파라메터들을 조정하기 위한 적응형 구조를 사용한다. 수치실험에서는 제안된 ahGA와 기존의 알고리즘들 간의 수행도를 비교하기 위하여 두가지형태의 다단계스케줄링문제를 제시한다. 실험결과는 제안된 ahGA가 기존의 알고리즘들 보나 더 뛰어난 수행도를 보여주고 있다.

A Novel Modulation Method for Three-Level Inverter Neutral Point Potential Oscillation Elimination

  • A novel algorithm is proposed to regulate the neutral point potential in neutral point clamped three-level inverters. Oscillations of the neutral point potential and an unbalanced dc-link voltage cause distortions of the output voltage. Large capacitors, which make the application costly and bulky, are needed to eliminate oscillations. Thus, the algorithm proposed in this paper utilizes the finite-control-set model predictive control and the multistage medium vector to solve these issues. The proposed strategy consists of a two-step prediction and a cost function to evaluate the selected multistage medium vector. Unlike the virtual vector method, the multistage medium vector is a mixture of the virtual vector and the original vector. In addition, its amplitude is variable. The neutral point current generated by it can be used to adjust the neutral point potential. When compared with the virtual vector method, the multistage medium vector contributes to decreasing the regulation time when the modulation index is high. The vectors are rearranged to cope with the variable switching frequency of the model predictive control. Simulation and experimental results verify the validity of the proposed strategy.

  • The outer race of CV(constant velocity) joint is an important load-supporting automotive part, which transmits torque between the transmission gear box and driving wheel. The outer race is difficult to forge because its shape is very complicated and the required dimensional tolerances are very small. Traditional warm and cold forging methods have their own limitations to produce such a complex shaped part; warm forging requires complex system with relatively higher manufacturing cost, while cold forging is not applicable to materials with limited formability. Therefore, multistage forging may be advantageous to produce complex shaped parts. In order to build a multistage forging system, it is necessary to characterize mechanical properties in response to system design parameters such as temperature, forging speed and reduction. For the analysis of formability of multistage forging process, finite element method(FEM) has been used for the process analysis. As a model case, a constant velocity (CV) joint forging process is analyzed by FEM, since CV joint has a complex shape and also its required dimensional tolerances are very tight. The data acquired by FEM is compared with operational forging data obtained from an industrial production line. Based on this comparative analysis, multistage forging process for CV joints is proposed.

Return Vane Installed in Multistage Centrifugal Pump

  • To optimize the stationary components in the multistage centrifugal pump, the effects of the return vane profile on the performances of the multistage centrifugal pump were investigated experimentally, taking account of the inlet flow conditions for the next stage impeller. The return vane, whose trailing edge is set at the outer wall position of the annular channel downstream of the vane and which discharges the swirl-less flow, gives better pump performances. By equipping such return vane with the swirl stop set from the trailing edge to the main shaft position, the unstable head characteristics can be also suppressed successfully at the lower discharge. Taking the pump performances and the flow conditions into account, the impeller blade was modified so as to get the shock-free condition where the incidence angle is zero at the inlet.

원형소재 다단 형상인발 공정설계 프로그램 (Process Design Program for Multistage Profile Drawing from Round Material)

  • Up to now, process design of multistage profile drawing from initial round material is performed through trial-and-error based on experience of industrial experts. This means the increase in production cost and excessive time consuming. In this study, process design program was developed for multistage profile drawing from initial round material. The program was made using VisualLISP. Therefore, the program can be operated by AutoCAD program. In order to verify the effectiveness of the program, two stage profile drawing process for producing heavy duty guide rail was design by using the program. In addition FE analysis and profile drawing experiment were performed. As a result, the program can be used in order to design profile drawing process design.
