A new method on the hardware implementation of multi-channel Finite Impulse Response(FIR) digital filter using vector multiplication structure is proposed. The proposed method can reduce the complexity of hardware structure and improve execution speed. The frequency response of four channel digital filter implemented by the above method is quite agreeable with the frquency response simulated by Remez method.
Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) replication and $Ca^{2+}$ response in human cell lines of neuronal origin were investigated. SK-N-SH (neuroblastoma cells) and A172 cells (glioblastoma cells) were used. SK-N-SH cells were permissive for HCMV multiplication with a delay of one day compared to virus multiplication in human embryo lung (HEL) cells. The delay of HCMV multiplication in SK-N-SH cells appeared to be correlated with a delay in the $Ca^{2+}$ response. The cytoplasmic free $Ca^{2+}$ concentration ($[Ca^{2+}]_i$) began to increase at 12 h p.i. in HCMV-infected SK-N-SH cells, while $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ increase in HCMV-infected HEL cells was observed as early as 3 h p.i. On the whole, the level of the increase in $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ in SK-N-SH cells was about 30% of that in HEL cells. On the other hand, in A172 cells infected with HCMV, neither production of infectious virus nor detectable increase in $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ was observed. Treatment with TPA of HCMV-infected SK-N-SH cells resulted in $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ increase at 6 h p.i. The stimulatory effect of TPA on HCMV- induced $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ increase continued until 12 h p.i., but TPA failed to stimulate the $Ca^{2+}$ response in SK-N-SH cells at 24 h p.i., suggesting that the effect of TPA had disappeared in SK-N-SH cells at that time point. In conclusion, SK-N-SH cells are permissive for HCMV replication and the delay in $Ca^{2+}$ response may be a consequence of the lower responsiveness of SK-N-SH cells than HEL cells to HCMV infection.

The variation in the level of immune response related gene expression in silkworm, Bombyx mori following infection with Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) was analyzed at different time intervals. The occlusion bodies of BmNPV orally inoculated to the two most divergent silkworm races viz., Sarupat (resistant to BmNPV infection) and CSR2 (susceptible to BmNPV infection) were subjected to oral BmNPV inoculation. The expression profile of gp 41 gene of BmNPV in the Sarupat and CSR2 races revealed that the virus could invade the midguts of both susceptible and resistant races. However, its multiplication was significantly less in the midgut of resistant race, while, in the susceptible race, the viral multiplication reached maximum level within 12 h. These findings indicate that potential host genes are involved in the inhibition of viral multiplication within larval midgut. The immune response genes arylphorin, cathepsin B, gloverin, lebocin, serpin, Hsp 19.9, Hsp 20.1, Hsp 20.4, Hsp 20.8, Hsp 21.4, Hsp 23.7, Hsp 40, Hsp 70, Hsp90 revealed differential level of expression on NPV infection. The gloverin, serpin, Hsp 23.7 and Hsp 40 genes are significantly up-regulated in the resistant race after NPV infection. The early up-regulation of these genes suggests that these genes could play an important role in baculovirus resistance in the silkworm, B. mori.

This paper proposes a new power reduction method for 2D FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filters. We exploited the spatial redundancy of image data in order to reduce power dissipation in multiplication of FIR filters. Since the higher bits of input pixels are hardly changed, the redundant multiplication of higher bits is avoided by separating multiplication into higher and lower parts. The calculated values of higher bits are stored in memory cells, cache such that they can be reused when a cache hit occurs. Therefore, we can reduce power in 2D FIR Filter modules about 15% by using the proposed separated multiplication Technique (SMT).

In this paper, a direct addressing mode of a microprocessor is introduced to save memory capacity, and also a dedicated digital filter is constructed to speed up the filter processing and to enable an easy selection of the impulse response types. A theoretical analysis has been conducted on the errors caused by the finite word klength, rounding-off and multiplication procedures. The digital filter designed by the proposed method is made into a module which can function as a 7th-order recursive or a 14-order nonrecursive type with a simples witch operation. The proposed filter is implemented on a printed-circuit board. The frequency characteristics of this filter can be controlled by the multiplication values stored in ROMs. A low-pass, a high-pass and a band-pass filter have been designed and their frequency characteristics are verified by actual measurements. For a order higher filer, two filter modules have been cascaded into an integrated filter of 23rd-order non-recursive low-pass type and a 12th-order recursive multiband type. Their frequency characteirstics have been found to agree with the theory.
This study examines relations between the 5th graders' fraction operation skills and error types on constructed-response items. As results, first, the participants have lower fraction operation skills on 'multiplication of fraction' than 'addition and subtraction of fraction'. Second, the participants have different error types depend on their constructed-response items. Most of error types which group with high ability made was 'leap of solving process', both groups error type with medium ability as well as low ability is 'misunderstanding of questions'. Third, the operation skills on 'addition and subtraction of fraction' have an influence on their operation skills on 'multiplication of fraction', and error types of 'understanding of questions' and 'understanding of solving process' have the most effects on the influence.
4 32-bit RISC core is designed for embedded application and DSP. This processor offers low power consumption by fully static operation and compact code size by efficient instruction set. Processor performance is improved by wing conditional instruction execution, block data transfer instruction, multiplication instruction, bunked register file structure. To support compact code size of embedded application, It is capable cf executing both 16-bit instructions and 32-bit instruction through mixed mode instruction conversion Furthermore, for fast MAC operation for DSP applications, the processor has a dedicated hardware multiplier, which can complete a 32-bit by 32-bit integer multiplication within seven clock cycles. These result in high instruction throughput and real-time interrupt response. This chip is implemented with 0.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, 4- metal CMOS technology and consists of about 50K gate equivalents.

An equation of material number density sensitivity coefficient is derived using first-order perturbation theory. The beginning of cycle of Super-Phenix I is taken as the reference system for this study. Effective multiplication factor of the reference system is defined as system response function and fuel enrichment and fuel effective density are chosen for the variation of reference input data since they are described by material number density which is a component of Boltzmann operator. The nuclear computational code system (KAERI-26 group cross section library/1DX/2DB/PERT-V) is employed for this calculation. Sensitivity coefficient of fuel enrichment on effective multiplication factor is 4.576 and sensitivity coefficient of effective fuel density on effective multiplication factor is 0.0756. This work shows that sensitivity methodology is lesser timeconsuming and gives more informations on important design parameters in comparison with the direct iterative calulation through large computer codes.

In this paper we implement a new simulator for performance analysis of a parallel digital signal processing distributed shared memory multiprocessor systems. using Parsec The key idea of this simulator is suitable in simulation of system that uses DMA function of TMS320C6701 DSP chip and local memory which have fast access time. Also, because correction of performance parameter and reconfiguration for hardware components are easy, we can analyze performance of system in various execution environments. In the simulation, FET, 2D FET, Matrix Multiplication. and Fir Filter, which are widely used DSP algorithms. have been employed. Using our simulator, the result has been recorded according to different the number of processor, data sizes, and a change of hardware element. The performance of our simulator has been verified by comparing those recorded results.
The aim of this study is to calculate natural frequencies and harmonic responses of cracked frames with general boundary conditions by using transfer matrix method (TMM). The TMM is a straightforward technique to obtain harmonic responses and natural frequencies of frame structures as the method is based on constructing a relationship between state vectors of two ends of structure by a chain multiplication procedure. A single variable shear deformation theory (SVSDT) is applied, as well as, Timoshenko beam theory (TBT) and Euler-Bernoulli beam theory (EBT) for comparison purposes. Firstly, free vibration analysis of intact and cracked frames are performed for different crack ratios using TMM. The crack is modelled by means of a linear rotational spring that divides frame members into segments. The results are verified by experimental data and finite element method (FEM) solutions. The harmonic response curves that represent resonant and anti-resonant frequencies directly are plotted for various crack lengths. It is seen that the TMM can be used effectively for harmonic response analysis of cracked frames as well as natural frequencies calculation. The results imply that the SVSDT is an efficient alternative for investigation of cracked frame vibrations especially with thick frame members. Moreover, EBT results can easily be obtained by ignoring shear deformation related terms from governing equation of motion of SVSDT.
