In the era of 'Untact', virtual reality-based job training platforms are actively being used as part of non-face-to-face education for students with developmental disabilities. Because the people with developmental disabilities may lack sufficient cognitive abilities, it is difficult to conduct untact training seamlessly without the help of a third party. Therefore, it is necessary for training programs to identify the right timing to provide help so that the training can be continued. This research analyzed the visual attention of students with developmental disabilities in virtual reality-based job training program in order to determine the point of time when an intervention is required by the trainee. Results showed that students who completed the mission tended to have intense visual attention on a small number of objects for a certain period of time; the visual attention of the students who failed tended to shift erratically among multiple objects.
Background: Once limited with face-to face courses, health education has now moved into the web environment after new developments in information technology This study was carried out in order to give training to the university academic and administrative female staff who have difficulty in attending health education planned for specific times and places. The web-supported training focuses on healthy diet, the importance of physical activity, damage of smoking and stress management. Materials and Methods: The study was carried out in Sakarya University between the years 2012-2013 as a descriptive and quasi experimental study. The sample consisted of 30 participants who agreed to take part in the survey, filled in the forms and completed the whole training. The data were collected via a "Personel Information Form", "Health Promotion Life-Style Profile (HPLSP)", and "Multiple Choice Questionnaire (MCQ). Results: There was a statistically significant difference between the total points from "Health Promotion Life-Style Profile" and the total points from the sub-scale after and before the training (t=3.63, p=0.001). When the points from the multiple choice questionnaire after and before training were compared, it was seen that the average points were higher after the training (t=8.57, p<0.001). Conclusions: It was found that web-supported health training has a positive effect on the healthy living behaviour of female staff working at a Turkish university and on their knowledge of health promotion.

This paper studies on the recognition rate change with respect to illumination variance and the confidence level of PCA(Principal Component Analysis) based face recognition by measuring the cumulative match score of CMC(Cumulative Match Characteristic). We studied on the confidence level of the algorithm under illumination changes and selection of training images not only by testing multiple training images per person with illumination variance and single training image and but also by changing the illumination conditions of testing images. The experiment shows that the recognition rate drops for multiple training image case compared to single training image case. We, however, confirmed the confidence level of the algorithm under illumination variance by the fact that the training image which corresponds to the identity of testing image belongs to upper similarity lists regardless of illumination changes and the number of training images.
In the multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, orthogonal random beamforming (ORBF) scheme is proposed to serve multiple users simultaneously in order to achieve the multi-user diversity gain. The opportunistic space-division multiple access system (OSDMA-S) scheme performs multiple weighting matrices during the training phase and chooses the best weighting matrix to be used to broadcast data during the transmitting phase. The OSDMA-S scheme works better than the original ORBF by decreasing the inter-user interference during the transmitting phase. To save more time in the training phase, a partly random multiple weighting matrices selection scheme is proposed in this paper. In our proposed scheme, the Base Station does not need to use several unitary matrices to broadcast pilot symbol. Actually, only one broadcasting operation is needed. Each subscriber generates several virtual equivalent channels with a set of pre-saved unitary matrices and the channel status information gained from the broadcasting operation. The signal-to-interference and noise ratio (SINR) of each beam in each virtual equivalent channel is calculated and fed back to the base station for the weighting matrix selection and multi-user scheduling. According to the theoretical analysis, the proposed scheme relatively expands the transmitting phase and reduces the interactive complexity between the Base Station and subscribers. The asymptotic analysis and the simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the throughput performance of the multi-user MIMO system.
Griffth's and LCCMA which are Single-user detection adaptive algorithm are proposed for mitigate MAI(multiple access interference) and the near-far problem in direct-sequence spread-spectrum CDMA system and MOE Algorithm is proposed for MMSE(Minimum Mean-Square Error). This paper pertains to three types of Blind adaptive algorithms which can upgrade system functionality without the requirements from training sequence. It goes further to compare and analyze the functionalities of the algorithms as per number of interfering users or data update rate of the users. The simulation results was that LCCMA algorithm was superior to other algorithms in both areas. Blind application enabled a more flexible network design by eliminating the necessity of training sequence.
In this paper, we propose the bootstrap and aggregating (bagging) vector quantization (VQ) classifier to improve the performance of the text-independent speaker recognition system. This method generates multiple training data sets by resampling the original training data set, constructs the corresponding VQ classifiers, and then integrates the multiple VQ classifiers into a single classifier by voting. The bagging method has been proven to greatly improve the performance of unstable classifiers. Through two different experiments, this paper shows that the VQ classifier is unstable. In one of these experiments, the bias and variance of a VQ classifier are computed with a waveform database. The variance of the VQ classifier is compared with that of the classification and regression tree (CART) classifier[1]. The variance of the VQ classifier is shown to be as large as that of the CART classifier. The other experiment involves speaker recognition. The speaker recognition rates vary significantly by the minor changes in the training data set. The speaker recognition experiments involving a closed set, text-independent and speaker identification are performed with the TIMIT database to compare the performance of the bagging VQ classifier with that of the conventional VQ classifier. The bagging VQ classifier yields improved performance over the conventional VQ classifier. It also outperforms the conventional VQ classifier in small training data set problems.

A boundary value of the velocity of data gathering node (DGN) and a critical value for training overhead beyond which the scheme will not be feasible for a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) based cooperative communication for energy-limited wireless sensor networks is proposed in this paper. The performance in terms of energy efficiency and delay for a combination of two transmitting and two receiving antennas is analyzed. The results show that a set of critical value of velocity and training overhead pair is present for the long haul communication from the sensors to the data gathering node. Finally a relation between training overhead and velocity is simulated.

The purpose of this study was to determine EMG biofeedback training effect on the muscle activities in 3 unilateral facial palsy patients along with multiple baseline design across subjects. The auditory feedback about facial muscles (orbicularis oris, orbicularis oculi, frontalis) was provided with each patient during facial exercise training. Electromyographic (EMG) activity during maximal voluntary contraction and maximal compound muscle action potential (CMAP) amplitude elected by supramaximal electrical stimulation on facial nerve of facial muscles were measured pre- and post- EMG biofeedback training to evaluate motor learning. EMG activity during maximal voluntary contraction was increased after EMG biofeedback training and CMAP amplitude elected by supramaximal electrical stimulation was not changed in all subjects. The results indicate that EMG biofeedback training is useful method to improve motor learning of facial excercise training in unilateral facial palsy patients.

There has not been any scientific analysis on appropriate size of workforce and salary for civilian workers in military so far. Thus, this paper conducted analysis on propriety in employment size of military doctrine researchers using system dynamic methodology based on annual military doctrine workload. Vensim software was mainly used to measure complement of the research group based on data from job analysis. Secondly, a multiple regression analysis was performed to study an appropriate wage for researchers based on their expertise and working condition. The data from twenty public research institutions and twenty eight job positions that are performing similar duty with military doctrine researchers was obtained and utilized to create a salary-estimation regression equation in the analysis. Finally, with cost-benefit analysis method this paper studied financial effectiveness of hiring military doctrine researchers. Contingent valuation method, which has been recognized as one of the most effective methodologies in cost-benefit analysis on intangible value, was utilized to measure benefit of hiring the researchers. The methodology presented in this paper can be applied to measure and improve the efficiency of military organization not only in military doctrine research area but also in several military functional area (military training, logistics, administration, combat development, and combat support).
