Purpose: This study aims to identify the assessment criteria on textile and apparel supply chain management performance. Research design, data, and methodology: An integrated method of Delphi, quantitative survey, and ANP, in which Delphi with Kamet principle was applied to define the set of criteria, quantitative survey with reliability and validity test was utilized to ensure the match between the set of criteria and the whole textile and apparel industry, and ANP was used to derive weights of these criteria. Results: The set of supply chain management performance evaluation criteria composes of seven criteria namely order fulfillment quality, agility, costs, asset management, information sharing, innovation, and product development and 19 sub-criteria. Conclusions: This study theoretical contribution is the proposition of the set of evaluation criteria on supply chain performance. Regarding practical contribution, the study findings are guidelines for T&A companies in assessing and improving their supply chain capability. However, the findings are only for Vietnamese T&A context. Future research, therefore, may be expanded to other regions or countries' T&A industry. Additionally, future step to this study may be the utilization of other techniques of MCDM or methodological approaches like multiple regression, PLSSEM in defining weights of criteria or performance evaluation.

We propose a scheduling algorithm, Bandwidth Allocation Scheme (BAS), that guarantees bounded delay in a switching node. It is based on the notion of the GPS (Generalized Processor Sharing) mechanism, which has clarified the concept of fair queueing with a fluid-flow hypothesis of traffic modeling. The main objective of this paper is to determine the session-level weights that define the GPS sewer. The way of introducing and derivation of the so-called system equation' implies the approach we take. With multiple classes of traffic, we define a set of service curves:one for each class. Constrained to the required profiles of individual service curves for delay satisfaction, the sets of weights are determined as a function of both the delay requirements and the traffic parameters. The schedulability test conditions, which are necessary to implement the call admission control, are also derived to ensure the proposed bandwidth allocation scheme' be able to support delay guarantees for all accepted classes of traffic. It is noticeable that the values of weights are tunable rather than fixed in accordance with the varying system status. This feature of adaptability is beneficial towards the enhanced efficiency of bandwidth sharing.

The evolution of information technology and proliferation of hospital management and managerial applications of computing has led to change in the characteristics, uses and evaluations of software for the hospital management. With the growing proliferation of microcomputer use and the value-added for management strategies, more and more software has been massively developed, produced and distributed for the hospital industry. The user is faced with an increasingly difficult choice in the evaluation and selection of software. For many reasons, users frequently must rely on expert evaluations of the technical functions and quality of software. The objectives of this study are to provide selection criteria for an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and to develop an evaluation framework for the Hospital Information Systems. The major findings of our study are as follows (1) the identification of EMR evaluation characteristics (2) the design and development of EMR selection model and (3) the evaluation of the importance for EMR characteristics using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). We identify 6 characteristics and 22 sub-characteristics of the EMR, calculate their weights, and decide the best configuration. Especially, the AHP methodology can be applied to gather knowledge from multiple experts. Because AHP can 1) facilitate the participation of multiple experts 2) increase group productivity and therefore result in both quantitatively and qualitatively superior outcomes than that of a single individual's work 3) provide a mechanism for reconciling conflict from multiple expert 4) validate the acquired knowledge, providing consistency of facts, and 5) enhance the accuracy reliability of the acquired knowledge increase through of the reliability provided by consensus across multiple experts. Although some further research is required, the proposed model can be regarded as a basis for the selection of EMR.
As a basic information to implement the fire plan that dominates multiple targets effectively under the battle environment with limited resources, such a process is mandatory that gives a priority order to a target with the high level of threat by quantitatively computing the threat level of an individual target through the analysis on the target. However, the study has still remained in the initial level on an evaluation algorithm for the threat level of the ground target. Considering this fact, the present paper proposes the evaluation algorithm for the threat by multiple ground targets. The proposed algorithm has a core point to consider the type of target and protected asset to implement the computation of proximity; set the additional value based on the weights indicating the significance of weapon and protected asset; and compute the threat level of a target that considers the characteristics of the target. The evaluation and verification of performances have been implemented through the simulation and visualization of an algorithm proposed in the present paper. From the performance result, as the proposed algorithm has been able to perform effectively the threat assessment according to the weights indicating the significance of weapons and protected assets under diverse environments where weapons and protected assets are located, high utility and effect are expected when applied to an actual ground weapon system.

To increase wireless capacity, the concurrent use of multiple wireless interfaces on different frequency bands, called aggregation, can be considered. In this paper, we focus on aggregation of multiple Wi-Fi interfaces with packet-level traffic spreading between the interfaces. Two aggregation schemes, link bonding and multipath TCP (MPTCP), are tested and compared in a dualband Wi-Fi radio system with their Linux implementation. Various test conditions such as traffic types, network delay, locations, interface failures and configuration parameters are considered. Experimental results show that aggregation increases throughput performance significantly over the use of a single interface. Link bonding achieves lower throughput than MPTCP due to duplicate TCP acknowledgements (ACKs) resulting from packet reordering and filtering such duplicate ACKs out is considered as a possible solution. However, link bonding is fast responsive to links' status changes such as a link failure. It is shown that different combinations of interface weights for packet spread in link bonding result in different throughput performance, envisioning a spatio-temporal adaptation of the weights. We also develop a mathematical model of power consumption and compare the power efficiency of the schemes applying different power consumption profiles.
This paper proposes a simultaneous control of frequency deviation and electric vehicles (EVs) battery state of charge (SOC) using load frequency control (LFC) and EV controllers. In order to provide both frequency stabilization and SOC schedule near optimal performance within the whole operating regions, a multiple-input multiple-output model predictive control (MIMO-MPC) is employed for the coordination of LFC and EV controllers. The MIMO-MPC is an effective model-based prediction which calculates future control signals by an optimization of quadratic programming based on the plant model, past manipulate, measured disturbance, and control signals. By optimizing the input and output weights of the MIMO-MPC using particle swarm optimization (PSO), the optimal MIMO-MPC for simultaneous control of the LFC and EVs, is able to stabilize the frequency fluctuation and maintain the desired battery SOC at the certain time, effectively. Simulation study in a two-area interconnected power system with wind farms shows the effectiveness of the proposed MIMO-MPC over the proportional integral (PI) controller and the decentralized vehicle to grid control (DVC) controller.

From the viewpoint of applications to manufacturing, data mining is a useful method to find the meaningful knowledge or information about states of processes. But the data from manufacturing processes usually have two characteristics which are multicollinearity and imbalance distribution of data. Two characteristics are main causes which make bias to classification rules and select wrong variables as important variables. In the paper, we propose a new data mining procedure to solve the problem. First, to determine candidate variables, we propose the multiple hypothesis test. Second, to make unbiased classification rules, we propose the decision tree learning method with different weights for each category of quality variable. The experimental result with a real PDP (Plasma display panel) manufacturing data shows that the proposed procedure can make better information than other data mining procedures.
Test and evaluation of weapon system is an important task to evaluate the performance of overseas weapon system purchasing project. Especially, quantitative evaluation of performances is hardly completed in defense projects where multiple criteria are conflicted each other. In order to solve this problem, we apply Axiomatic Design (AD) and Inner Dependence AHP method. First, finite functional requirements (FRs) are categorized in hierarchy structure by selecting proper design parameters (DPs) to implement their corresponding FRs. If there are no ways to select DPs when design is coupled between FRs and DPs, then inner dependence is allowed to overcome the strict rule of independence in AHP. Second, the weights of DPs are calculated by applying both Inner Dependence AHP method for coupled design and normal AHP method for uncoupled or decoupled design. Finally, information axiom of AD is applied to the proposed weapon systems by calculating information contents for all parameters. Weapon system with minimum sum of information contents is considered as the best solution. The proposed method in this study should be used in multiple criteria decision making problems involving various conflicting criteria.

Animal models of atopic dermatitis (AD) are widely used to investigate therapeutic effects of candidates for AD. However, the characteristics of each model are not fully understood. This study was designed to compare the animal models of dermatitis induced by dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB) and oxazolone (Ox). We investigated the effects of DNFB and Ox on skin thicknesses and weights as well as skin lesions associated with AD such as scale, crust and erythematous eruption, and histopathological changes such as hyperkeratosis, dermal and epidermal hyperplasia and immune cell infiltration in inflamed tissues. Multiple application of 0.5% Ox onto the skin increased skin thickness and weight compared to those of DNFB treated mice, as well as those of normal mice. In addition, topical application of DNFB induced marked scale, crust and erythematous eruption, while Ox induced erythematous eruption and mild scale and crust. Histopathological examination revealed that 0.5% Ox induced marked hyperplasia in the dermis and epidermis, large vesicles, spongiotic changes, mild hyperkeratosis and immune cell infiltration in balb/c mice. These data suggest that multiple applications of Ox can induce chronic AD like dermatitis in balb/c mice.
The ordinary multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) approach requires two types of input, alternative values and criterion weights, and employs two schemes of alternative prioritization, dominance and potential optimality. This paper allows for incomplete information on both types of input and gives rise to the dominance relationships and potential optimality of alternatives. Unlike the earlier studies, we emphasize that incomplete information frequently takes the form of strict inequalities, such as strict orders and strict bounds, rather than weak inequalities. Then the issues of rising importance include: (1) The standard mathematical programming approach to prioritize alternatives cannot be used directly, because the feasible region for the permissible decision parameters becomes an open set. (2) We show that the earlier methods replacing the strict inequalities with weak ones, by employing a small positive number or zeroes, which closes the feasible set, may cause a serious problem and yield unacceptable prioritization results. Therefore, we address these important issues and develop a useful and simple method, without selecting any small value for the strict preference information. Given strict information on both types of decision parameters, we first construct a nonlinear program, transform it into a linear programming equivalent, and finally solve it via a two-stage method. An application is also demonstrated herein.
